  1. I can't see anything unfortunately, however I can see that there is three of the same threads made..

    Age!

Not in the slightest mate! I've seen people 40+ getting into this sport, to be honest it's one thing that gave me the confidence to start. Even though I'm only 18 my fitness is pretty poor due to having an accident last year and being lazy since! Age is nothing but a number and a state of mind, get out and get riding!
  3. Oh my god, that is one cool kid!
  4. In that case do as fox said, a lot of the time they can be very helpful - most of the tech guys are decent and know what they're on about.
  5. Have you had it from new mate? Sad to say however you could of been blocked, I know there is a no signal issue that is hardware related and can be fixed. However if you bought it second hand the chances are, it's been barred.
  6. Can't wait to get his new bike - shift his old one and buy a trials <3

  7. To be fair compared to a lot of sports it's not all that costly, it's once you start to get into it and start upgrading your bike and buying bits it becomes expensive. I've already been looking at bits for a bike I haven't yet bought. Hoping that the sun starts coming out on a regular basis, I just can't wait to ride! Thanks isitafox and everybody else who has posted up and helped out.
  8. Black and white always looks great - pop up some more pictures when it progresses more.
  9. Personally I love the colour scheme, do see what you mean about the forks being black. I think it would depend on what your plans were for the rest of the bike, but looks sweet how it is.
  10. Not a fan at all, looks pretty cheap to be honest and I really don't think it's all that inventive! As for the £60.. Well.. I guess it's personal preference.
  11. You're definitely best off with two bikes mate and I think a front disc is worth having if you can afford a decent one, don't worry about having rim brakes especially if you've got some of the Magura's. They're great breaks and it's something that I'll definitely look into investing in if I get a bike with out them - as everyone's said the Phase seems to be a peoples favourite! People on here really are a great help and I think as long as you're not asking a question that was answered on a thread above and your polite, they're unbelievably helpful! I think you'll do well on here mate.
  12. Cheers mate, there one that I came across. Just thought I'd post up here as I didn't know if anyone had any personal experiences. Just got to wait until it's all packaged up and then I can get some quotes.
  13. It's from Grimsby to Nottingham - roughly 200 mile round trip from here to there and I can ask if it's being boxed or just wrapped somehow? Unsure how it's being done will have to speak to him tomorrow. Like a kid at Christmas, can't wait!
  14. Hi there guys, need a bike picking up and dropping off to me. It's roughly 100 miles away from me. The seller has kindly agreed to package it up (In some fashion) for it to be collected, but would be unable to ship himself. I was just wondering if anyone has used a courier service to have bikes collected that they would recommend? Just thought I'd see if you guys have had any previous experience! Thanks guys.
  15. As limey said above you can't buy and sell in this section, best advice would be to make a few helpful posts, be friendly and polite.
  16. Well, I know what I'm spending the rest of my night watching!
  17. Haha good on you mate, if I'd of had the cash laying around at the time I'd of snapped it up! However found a couple locally so going to look at those, glad it went to someone on here, it was a real bargain! Thanks for the DVD recommendation as well, I'll keep a look out for that!
  18. Hi there Caranx, please don't feel you've butted in at all! I've still not gotten a bike yet but the general feeling I get is that if you can stretch to the Phase 1.2 then it would be a brilliant beginner bike and has a good frame to then update other parts on it when you feel the need. On saying that I'm currently considering a Phase 1.3 just to get me into it as it's local and a pretty ideal price! Either way, do let us know what you end up with! As for the recreational riding, definitely invest in a cheap mountain bike of some sort as they're cheap and what you want for this sort of riding. PS : Don't hesitate to ask questions, the short time I've already been on here people have been brilliant and friendly.
  19. The balance was just like amazing rider, something you can watch and watch again!
  20. Cheers mate! If all goes well I should have it within the next week or so if all goes well.
  21. Cheers for the replies guys, I understand that a lot of it is obviously rider preference so really just trial and error. The V's will do me fine for the first few months, I'm sure. Just a quick question, does anyone at all rate the Onza T-Bird? Just got a message from a mate who's said a friend of his has an Onza T-Bird for sale, all I really know is it's 20" wheels, V brakes and not a bad little bike? Personally like the sound of the Phase as people really do seem to rate them but didn't know if the Onza would be a good bike? Forgot to put, would also be around £100ish. Cheers for the replies guys, all been incredibly helpful! (A)
  22. Yeah I think it runs a V on the back, for the time being I'd probably just get a set of decent pads to put in there however in the future maybe look to upgrade it. This is all dependent on whether or not I've still got the bike, as I say it's just really to try and get into trials for a few months.
  23. Cheers for your help mate! Don't suppose anyone can recommend a good site for things such as breaks pads etc? Seen a few makes of pads recommended etc but been trying to find the best place to order from.
  24. EDIT : Sorry guys, CalopS kindly answered this question in another thread.
