    Rain

I always sink my pedals into my shins when it's raining
  2. Think this was answered! I would have gone for the SD7..good thing I asked
  3. Hi sorry to open another topic but in beginners I was getting to few responses and I really need to know what to get The story goes like this, my back brake arms are stock tektro and suck badly so I want to exchange them for something better, I don't know if to get a pair of Shimano XT or a pair or SD7 arms..they're both 29€ on CNC Rest of the setup is: inspired phat pads, odyssey linear slic cable, SD7 lever
  4. I need the distance for v brakes
  5. Screwd all the way! You say XT over SD7 then?
  6. Hi guys anyone who has a phase 1.3 could please measure the distance between the two back v-brake screws? center to center I need to get a booster but haven't got a tape to measure with..
  7. Probably a bit too much I've seen the tensioner tends to slip up a bit so I'll need to put a rubber washer between it and the dropoff to hold it nice and still I've just checked the chian and it's called Clarks Half Link Gold 1/8 Single Speed Chain
  8. The brake arms just change setting on their own..yesterday I wnet to work and the brakes were ok, I got out of work and the left pad was touching the rim while riding Also the left arm seems to hit the rim with the wrong toe even if I set it up perfectly..the other day I pulled the lever a few times and you could see the pad climbing up the rim and getting wonky! Also they're pain in the ass to just setup and the arms have got loads of play Yeah, I'm interested on a shootout avid vs shimano..which shoul I go for?? SD7 or shimano XT? Can't seem to find a comparison review..what would you say? On CNC Shimano LX are 23€, XTs are 29 and SD7 29€ Just tell me wich would be best!
  9. I picked up my phase 1.3 for 100£ Why don't you have a scout round pinkbike?
  10. mmm I think it was called clarks single speed..it cost about 15£ While I was there I also bought a tool kit for 15£ and did it all myself..it's actually quite an easy job
  11. Went for short version of the tensioner and for 16 tooth as I've got a 22 chainring I got the chain in halfords..it's a clarks single speed Here's how it looks http://imageshack.us.../imag0200b.jpg/ (the tensioner needed pushing down more..if you get it I recommend putting a rubber washer to hold it really still)
  12. I've just gone single speed on my 1.3 http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/sprung_tensioners/trialtech_sport_sprung_tensioner/c48p11211.html plus http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/single_speed_kits/atomz_complete_single_speed_kit/c511p10135.html plus single speed chain
  13. Hi guys I'm currently running a pair of tektro calipers through SD7 lever and odyssey linea slic cable with inspired phat pads..do you think a pair of SD7 would make the brake even better? It brakes great but is a pain in the ass to set up and tends to loose the setting after a bit..should I go for a pair of SD7 calipers or a pair of shimano? (wich ones?)
  14. You really could have straightened it yourself I just put an allen key through the hole and pulled till it was straight

    Rain

Do like me, I'm doing trackstands in front of the telly (I really am)
  16. I must say I really love my 1.3..I'm going to be getting it a pair of SD7 for the back and a new pair of rims further on
  17. I was going mad too with my MTB when I decided to change forks Tighten the top screw a tiny bit at a time ad keep checking until you feel the steering gets hard..at that point untighten it a tiny bit and do up the clamps
  18. Luckly I only had the bent dropoff but I pulled it straight today before fitting the single speed..well the bikes are good for what they cost
  19. It's not that I don't know how to adjust them..it's that the darn things just move around on their own and keep losing the setting
  20. Patience when trying to adjust my brakes
  21. Just went single spped today on my phase 1.3 and oh man the bike looks better..I'm off to ride it now and see how it is! I'd recommend it..here is a picture of how it looks Uploaded with ImageShack.us My gears slipping were because of the bent dropoff I think

    Riders In Dublin

    Man, thank you so much
  23. How much better would a pair of SD7 be over the stock tektro? Power and ease of setup
  24. Yeah it's on now! Only problem now are the darn back brakes damned tektro...
