  1. Okay thanks for the tips guys. Don't really fancy buidling myself, so i'll just buy a hub and freewheel and get it fitted in a shop.

And yes, i'm in norwich so i'll go to pedal revolution, and DEFINITELY not halfords haha!

Oh, i forgot to mention, my rim is annoyingly 36h, which means i'm having difficulty finding a hub...

  2. I want a new freehub or freewheel. I am going to have to get a new wheelbuild really in order to get either. Which would likely be cheapest? I know if i go freewheel i'm likely to be able to get more engagements for less, right?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if i can do it for less than £150?

Alternatively, any tips on a good stock fixed hub rear wheel for about £100?

    Any help appreciated!

    I'm running 26" btw!

Oh, and i don't want front freewheel, if possible!

  3. So, i'm trying to be able to move around on the back wheel... with the aim of being able to like, jump up walls and stuff on the back wheel, but i can never seem to get any height off of it.

i am trying to do the pedal kick thing where i let the front wheel drop and give a sharp quarter turn on the pedal?

any ideas on how i can improve?

    thanks

  4. So, i've had my phase 1.2 for about 2 months now... and recently a crank fell off, because it appears not to have been tightened properly...

So i tightened it up, and it loosened again... I repeated this and it started to get loose again...

Now i've tightened it again, and this time i've done it really tight, and it doesn't seem to be coming loose.. yet,

Basically the question is, what's most likely to be causing this problem? As the thread in the BB and on the crank bolt both seem to be fine.

    Thanks

  5. When i got mine i had lots of problems with broken parts and had to send it back twice...

did you by any chance buy it from Winstanleys? because as my experience recalls from buying my bike there, they will send it broken a few times before you get a good one...

i had a bent rear hub, rear derailleur hanger, frame, chain snap, bent wheel skewers all before i managed to get a good bike :P

So if that is where you bought it, i'd recommend just taking it to your lbs and getting it repaired mate

  6. I started between 1 and 2 months ago and bought a M.A.D phase 1.2

It's a pretty sweet bike and is allowing me to do significantly more than i could on my full sus mtb.

You can get it on Winstanleys Bikes for £199.99 ( http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/17096/MAD_Phase_12_Trials_Bike_2010 )

It has gears as well, which frankly i have found excellent as it's allowed me to select the correct amount of teeth to convert to single speed.

All round seems a pretty sweet bike to start with and is pretty good value as it has HS33s

For £50 more you can get the 1.1... it's a little better and white.. really depends on yourself, my friend got that and it doesn't seem much different to me :)

  7. Hey, was wondering if there are any/many riders in Norwich, preferably close to the UEA, as hopefully i will be going there at the start of October, and i don't very much enjoy riding on my own :P Plus i like to meet other riders... I always find it helps me to learn new techniques.
