  1. £50 wrapped in a handkerchief when I was about 11, seemed like 50k back then.

A totally awesome porn mag down the side of my bed I had never seen before.

Found a wallet with 40 bills in it and managed to find the owner, resisting the temptation to rinse the cash and lash the wallet, which was nice.

A missing cat! There were posters around the place for a missing cat that had been put up for about a week. I actually found the cat and the lady gave me a bag of snack sized mars bars

    My x's g-spot, only took 18 months >_<

  2. Here is a quick one of mine. I've not finished tweaking it yet. I need a new processor to get the core speed higher as the highest multiplier on mine is x6 which gives bus speeds to high to increase the core further.

    Spec is

    Antec 1200 Case

    Asus P5Q Deluxe Motherboard

    Intel Core2Duo E6550 @ 3.4Ghz

    4GB PC6400 OCZ RAM @ 980Mhz

    ATI 4870 512MB GDDR5 OC 750/1075(2150 Effective)

    Unbranded 120GB SATA HD

    500Watt Corsair HX PSU

    Tuniq Power 775 Cooler

Just at 15,000 on Futuremark 06.

More tweaking and pics to come.

Edit: Core temps are high 20s and low 50s overclocked, I forgot to turn off orthos in that pic.

  3. I saw this yesterday, I thought it was rubbish. It's one film to many, they should of left it at 4. They also left the ending very open, I can see there being a saw 6. It wasn't that gruesome too, there's been 4 films of touting geezers, something different would of been nice.

  4. Not counting Linux? My Windows hard drive blew up last week, so I've got a new one coming from my mate at college, the plan is to have two hard drives inside the case, and just swap the ID and power cable when I want to change OSs.

I don't trust myself with Dual Boot. :P

I hate Macs, I've tried using them a few times when I was at sixth form and I just can't get used to them.

    Raid?

Dual boot? It's not hard at all.

Could you really be assed switching cables to move between hard drives?

  5. Here's a quick snap of my system looking pretty ghetto at the moment as it's a new build and lacks a case :\.

    Antec 500W Earthwatts/power (can't remember)

    ASUS P5B-VM SE Motherboard

    ASUS 8800GT 512MB (overclocked 690/1900/1000)

Intel E5200 currently at 2.7Ghz 900Mhz FSB on the stock cooler and paste

    1x2GB Kingston PC6400 running at 980Mhz 5-5-5-18 (not pictured)

    120GB IDE HDD

    External CD/DVD/RW

Looking to upgrade to a P45 Chipset mobo, most probably the P5Q Pro

2x7200rpm xxxgb hdds in Raid 0

An Artic Cooler 7 with Artic Silver paste to increase the CPU overclock

And, of course, a case :P

  6. An ISO file is a CD image.

You need to download Daemon tools and mount it onto an imaginary drive it creates to read the image.

However, as you're trying to install Ubuntu (I imagine) then you need to burn it onto a CD with a boot sector.

However beware if your installing it that you don't wipe over your windows partition or create a partition with the the incorrect filing system ubuntu requires. You should read up on google about it before trying to run it as it's not as easy as windows.

  7. I used to play, level 126 on RS2, level 112 on RSC froggy_2.

Graphics update what are you talking about? HD? I don't think so. Not only are the graphics pathetic but the whole game is populated by retards. It's bad, really bad, really really bad.

On the plus side I made about £800 selling my shit when I quit.

  8. Water in a magura is fine, doesnt damage seals makes the brake feel more responsive. Water in a dengura = no no, rots the seals, makes the brake leak etc (this way the old dengura, not sure about the new ones).

It doesn't rot the seals 'edit: I think', it's just a bad design like the old RB levers, it's not tight enough. I think the problem is the piston being so large but don't quote me on that because I know shit all about them. Also I think the seals are avaliable from heatsink.

  9. Alright, yeah I'll give you that, but don't think a change in them is long due? They haven't even changed the levers in 5 years. And the slave cylinders and such have never been changed.

Can anyone confirm they have no problems using water? Just seems crazy. And my dad won't never believe it, probably won't allow me to. :-

Seriously I would estimate 80% of the forum use water - for me it's such a better feel.

And as mentioned perhaps a new magura or just taking it all apart and cleaning any crap from around the seals. Using water allows you to pump lots of it through the system cleaning it of any crap.

  10. No, I can finally bleed them and set them up fine, but it just takes so long!! Also, ran out of Blood the other day. Ran to the store and grabbed some mineral oil. Definitely not the same stuff! Brake practically won't work now. Anybody know if the thickness or something is different. Just wish you could get Blood anywhere. Oh, and just got my stupid TPA stuck again!

I have some sort of Shimano v-brakes? Do you think they might work good with some good pads? Not sure what they are, just know they are Shimanos. Possibly XT's?

Replace magura oil with water. bleeding them takes me 5 minutes at the most - without any equipment other than 2 allen keys and a sink full of clean, cold water. TPAS can be bodged with a screw and work better that way.

  11. post-15043-1219893570_thumb.jpg

It is quite a poor result, but only an idiot would spend more than the 4 mins I did on doing that for a pisstake :P

That is THE most ghetto photo editing I've seen for a while

As mentioned, the paint job is currently in good condition and if you spray it yourself you're only going to do a crap job. No offense! All of the halfords primer, color and lacquer spray paints are shit. If you really want it done though I would recommend finding somewhere local which does powder coating or get a quote from Argos.

  12. I would recommend just do it! When I went to Australia, I didn't really think of anything, where I would stay, where I would get money from etc. Obviously you will need to think about how much cash you need etc. The best thing about my year out was being totally reckless - doing things, going places - if it seems like a good idea do it! Worry when you get there, be spontaneous.

Although saying that I did have some guidance and I would recommend it to anyone especially if your going to Australia Oz Intro is an amazing place to start, a small group of people the same as yourself who have just arrived in the country, lots of exciting activities and I met the majority of people I traveled with the whole time in Oz from the people I met at Oz intro.
