  1. Basically I ride a 24" inspired all year round and Echo Lite in summer, and it's a real pain in the ass to reteach myself from bunny hops to pedal ups every time I switch. Both let me get up about a meter, but of course the choice depends on what kind of trials you ride, right? It's always good to master both though, just to be confident.
  2. Thanks guys, you've been a good help! Just a final clarification, how many do you think you need to land in a row to be able to jump off the bike and yell proudly, "I nailed that f***ing trick!" If 4 is enough, then well I got it today for the first time. Had threes yesterday but... just to make sure, you know So, should I work on it for another week or so to get it perfect, or can I go on to variations like footjam ds whip drop or something? (Really excited to get to the good bit of streety stuff, can't wait to break some more bones )
  3. Hi people, I ride street trials at the moment, but on Echo Lite, and I've been learning this trick, ds footjam tailwhip, for a couple of days now. I can't quite do it because i either under rotate the tail, or myself. Do any of you streeters have any good tips for it? All advice appreciated!
  4. Damnit, why do I have to have this stupid IGCSE exam on May 24th?!!
  5. Thanks everyone The bike was completely new when I got it, and as of now there don't seem to be any seen damages to it. Of course when the spores broke it went a bit crooked, but I've just taken the bike back from the shop and everything seems to be ok right now. And sorry, my fault, of course I meant Jack... should have been thinking of something else at that moment. My appologies
  6. Should probably do it... I'm really bad at all this technical stuff anyways
  7. For the past couple of days I've been concentrating on gap-to-fronts and up-to-fronts, and today I noticed I have 3 broken spokes on the disc side of the front wheel. The broken spokes are circled in red, and one of them has also damaged the hub a bit (circled in blue). And by the way, it is the second time this happens in about a month. I have standard spokes that go on Echo Lite mod. Is that normal? If not, what's wrong and can I do something about it? And if it might be significant, I twisted the bars forward "à la" John Carthy... Thanks for the help, Theo
  8. Make trials a more popular sport than it is now, that is. Not easy, though, I'm guessing
  9. I guess I've seen al of these and some more, too. But it's kind of hard to learn with just watching how they do stuff and no explanation/tutorials etc.
  10. Brakeless is so much fun!

  11. Hi guys, Tried out riding brakeless in the backyard tonight (without taking the brakes off yet, just not using them), and I really loved it! I guess I'll be getting a separate mod so that I can ride both with and without breaks and not wasting a lot of time on changing the setup. Does anyone have any tips or advice on what bike to get (a complete probably) and on the setup such as tyre pressure etc? Thanks in advance, Theo
  12. Thanks a lot guys, and August would be perfect for me. I know I am probably the least of people on who it depends though but I'm just saying...
  13. Once a random old guy asked me where my seat was (I was on a mod), and I said bikes with no seat are cheaper. Sounded legit, but sadly enough it was wrong
  14. Does anyone know already when and where exactly the event will take place next year? I need the details for visa/hotel booking etc. Thanks a lot
  15. So I've been riding trials for around half a year now, but because I'm in a boarding school I only get to practice on holidays and some weekends so every time I come back home I forget some stuff and have to learn it all over again. Anyways, recently I've been practicing turning around on the rear wheel on narrow obstacles (around 10"), and I found that I can manage it fine only if I am turning clockwise (to the right), but I'm really struggling with the same move done in the opposite direction. Also when I am doing 180 hop i can only do it clockwise as well. I know that is common for beginners, but the thing is that my forward foot is the right one, and everyone tells me riders usually rotate away from their forward foot (would be counter-clockwise for me). Please don't tell me I'm an alien! But seriously, what's wrong, and are there any tips, except for to practice, to learn to turn the other direction as well? Thanks a lot, Theo
  16. I'm ok with hopping on the spot, it's just the turning that frustrates... But thanks for the advice, I'll try it out
  17. Hi everyone, After learning how to backhop for as long as I want I decided to move on to backhop turns. It took me a couple of days and now I manage, but I can't really turn not jumping around so it takes quite a lot of space for me to do a full turn, even if I try and do small hops. What should I work on to improve the situation?
  18. I was just watching BMX videos in YouTube, and ran into a video of Danny. I was really impressed and thought I wanted to do trials too so I started on the bike I had and now I've been riding for half a year and I've got two bikes
  19. Thanks, thats what I was looking for
  20. So I've got a lot of planks, barrels and reels and stuff left after our house was re-built, and I'm thinking of building a trials course on the backyard. In about a week I'm getting a 20" echo lite (I think that's the name) so I thought I needed some place to practice my techniques, other than street (for which I've got a 24" element). The thing is I'm clueless about how to build it, what obstacles I need, nothing... So could you give me any tips/pictures/links/how-to guides on the subject? Thanks a lot to everyone P.S. I am not quite a beginner but can't say honestly I'm any good really. I mean, something like a world championship course will be useless for me..
  21. So could anyone say what exactly parts should I get to be able to barspin? For both rear and front brake, I mean
