  1. I had problem with the wire bead on that tyre, kept poking out and popping the tube.

That's strange. I haven't had any punctures due to that, just poor riding skills and my tendency to go too quickly and not give myself enough time resulting in me smashing into things :P

  2. Been trying ever since I bought my road bike to crack 16mph average speed on a run. It's been doing my head in as I've been stuck at 15.8 on all the rides I've done so far. I know its only 0.2mph out but trust me, it's well annoying. So I went land did 19.1 miles in 1h 9 mins, with an average sped of 16.1mph. Makes me so happy. The next goal is to average 18mph on a long ride, but it's quite a big step up. I'm looking at going out with the local club on a Saturday morning, they do 20-25 miles in two hours, with a cake stop, which I could do easily

Me and my neighbour averaged 19/20mph on our 60 mile road ride the other day. It was so fun!!!!!

  3. Was having one of the best days today. Got my suit for the wedding, went to the venue to have another look about, did our notice of marriage. Was on our way to the jewellers to see about rings when we chanced upon Hayley's 84 year old uncle, who proceeded to faint in front of us and have what looked very much like a stroke. Been in A&E since then.

Just very glad we happened to be right there, right then, especially being as we'd randomly chosen to use a jeweller in his home town.

    Jeezus. Is he okay?

Most recent picture of the five, due a good service and new chain this weekend all being well. I can't rate those renthal bars enough, it's turned a good bike into an awesome bike.

Now if you put a real short FR Stem on, it'll make it so much more responsive on the downhill front! I once made the mistake of on my old XC Bike I had 800mm bars with a 30mm 0 degrees stem and by having that setup it constantly pulls wheelies going uphill. But that's not necessarily a bad thing IMO :P But for downhill, it turned a shire horse into a raging bull!

  5. Worth a shot even as a mock up engine for test fitting? Might be useful as spares I guess? Haven't got the space/time to start the 1.8T project yet as i'm doing up the house but at that price I guess it can sit outside waiting for when i'm ready...
