Find the weight you are allowed up to and anything you put in the bike bag/box up to that weight is fair game. Towels, tools, spare tyres, track pump, bla bla bla. You should be able to take anything. Just don't have smaller bits rolling around as they may fall out the grab handles if its a box.

Also, did you just ask the -G- man if he rode trials?....In Barcelona....

I thought that but didn't want to turn up and them to take items out of my bag such as track pumps etc. I've got a cheap bike bag so hopefully all will be good.

    I did... apologise G man haha :D

I think the best part about street riding is just going out and finding shit on your own, that’s more than half the fun... from what I hear Barcelona has no shortage of radical spots, only shortage is in the riders living there...

on a slightly unrelated note, Spain is cheap as f**k and I’m looking to escape this United States of fat idiots someday in the future.. my girl has family in Italy and Croatia...

a google search of bmx/skate spots Barcelona may yield many results for you..good luck and enjoy that sun.

Thank you for your advice, I agree that it's part of the fun finding the locations and spots. I just wanted to grasp a bearing of where to look for the more famously ridden ones.

I really hope you escape america as it seems from that sentence, you don't like it at all! And Italy would mean beautiful weather to ride your bike.

Good luck to you too :)

  3. Hello,

Traveling to Barcelona at the end of February for 4 days and the bike is coming along too! I would just like to know first,

some advice for flying. I've got a bike bag but can't figure out from "googleing" what I am aloud to bring in the bag as in tools etc.

also, where are the spots. Does anybody know the location names of some of them or is it just turn up and try find them?

Any other advice would be appreciated this is my first trip abroad with my bike.

    Thank you,

    Jack

Would this work for lower psi tires, what would be the limit? 30 psi? 35? What are you running, Ali runs what- 45?? I bought everything to do this save the foam cel pad when Ali did his vlog on it...but never did it.

as for the gorilla tape- how far over the edge of the rim did you go ?

Do do they make shrader stem caps? Hate presta looks like a roadie puff.. guess I could fashion one out of an old tube.

I ride mostly skatepark so in terms of pressure im a little higher than ali. 45 minimum really. In the latest tubless vlog ali made he put the pressures down to 30psi and it still worked great - worth a look on his youtube.

For the tape i probably went a little wide but its seemed to work. Ran it completly from rim edge to rim edge making sure i had stuck it to the metal as tightly as possible.

Presta isnt as accesable as shrada valves but you can get an adaptor and put it in your pocket - fashioning one might be difficult to make it air tight.

    Glad it went well :)

You may find the tyre deflates at first, this could be because the tyres are not meant for tubeless and are porous until the sealant full seals them. If this happens then I'd recommend giving the wheel a spin and a shake to make sure the sealant is evenly spread and then leave the wheel resting flat on each side for half an hour...this worked perfectly on my MTB.

Also I don't think cut outs are vital in the foam, I left my second foam strip solid and it still works fine.

Surprisingly when i went to the bike this morning it was still fully inflated no tubeless liquid anywhere (could be because the tyres are like 3 months old). So looks like its gone well.

Went for the first ride this afternoon and it feels completely different to before but i like it. Makes the bike feel very nimbal.

As for the foam it was very time consuming cutting it so next time will leave it if its worked for you!

    Thanks for the advice :)

  7. After watching Ali clarkson's second vlog showing how impressive the tubless system is I decided to get the supplies ordered to give it a test myself. Watched his previous video showing how he converted it and got to work.

    Supplies:

    orange seal tubeless liquid £15

closed cell foam 1 metre X 1 metre (could do 4 more wheels with the remainder of the foam) £18

gorrilla tape (used as rim tape) £6

    and tubless valves £5

so for a total cost of £44 I have reproduced the system used and tested by Ali and couldn't be happier.

Here are some of the steps in photos:

although I need to wait until the morning to see if my tyres are still inflated so far I'm very chuffed with how simple it was to convert.

Thought I'd write this to nudge anyone on the edge of trying it themselves. So far so good and would insist that you give it a go.

I'll keep this updated too in case anything happens

What happened to Oliver and Joel? They seem to post on Insta with riding media.

I haven't heard anything of Frankie in a fair while but myself and other I imagine would be keen on coming over for a ride. You need a car!

Majority of the time they're riding MTB at local Forrest. The rest of it they end up damaging property or causing issues for people and not riding so tend to stay away now (just to keep out of trouble).

Frankies in hull but not sure if he has his bike. I'm free every Sunday for rides. So whenever your free :)

  9. I'm running 55/60 psi though with riding skatepark the majority of the time. I don't want to change tyres but I hate the feel of them when riding when they deform. After doing what you said @Dman they seemed a slight bit better but just gonna have to do it a few more times until I get it spot on.

Some tyres are just a bitch, take it off, get tyre soap if you know someone with at a tyre fitting garage. I used dove extra moisturising last time, rub it round bead and rim, then reinflate it until you hear it pop on. Then check the line on the tyre all the way round make sure it's an even gap. I did one 3 or 4 times once. No rim or tyre bead damage?

Will general soap work? I struggle to get it to "pop" on? What sort of pressure am I to be pumping into it?

  11. Put some new Air king contis on my bike about a month ago now. Rode these tyres for years.

theyre perfect until they take a hard hit. The tyre folded off the rim and look extremely buckled (lateral) when riding. I've had the tyres off and put them back on again back up to 60 psi. They stay looking true for a few hours and then go back to looking bucked. The wheel is true.

Can anybody help. This has happened before and I just left it.

  12. Thank so guys it's 100% trials ss. It does say it on the shell. It's the through axle one. As long as it can be converted i don't have a problem.

They can be converted - you'd just need the Pro 4 Trials axle, and a pair of bolts/washers.  All are available through Hope.

Will a pro2 evo "bolt in" conversion work?

    Thanks again

  13. Got a pro4 rear trials ss hub through work.

When it's come the hub isn't "bolt in" which is what I need for my arcade. It's a 10mm through axle. I know you can convert hope hubs. But is it possible to convert it from a through axle to a bolt in? Looked from top to bottom online and can't find anything useful

  14. which did you go for in the end? im running the mt7 and even though i have ran into a few problems i would still go with them over other brakes like hopes ect. the mt5 levers dont feel as nice. they feel quite plastic and toyish

@Ali C vlogs have been great the past few weeks, and I'm hoping the summer months will keep it going. It's cool having a good quality trials vlog going in addition to the BMX ones, and especially one that doesn't eventually start posting car videos :P

Poor lz haha. I agree totally though
