  1. has anyone tried the new trialtech sprockets yet? I don't want the drilled ones (what a stupid idea btw). So it'll be either this one or one of the surlys or the gusset bachelor. I'm just worried about the chain skipping.. I had it with a king and it was horrible.. but I read about skipping chains with the surly as well... So I'm unsure which one I should go for...

  2. Ridden for about a month and im only 11 stone :) chances are mine were just a bad set, as my mates been running his for over a year...... but meh i think its a fair warning.

a MONTH? wtf... that is scary! I think I'm going for the standard wellgo mags then, sorry Zhi :$

  3. btw

Final geometry for the hydroxx 26": 1090-1095mm (depending on the chain tension), +50mm, but it won't be available within the next 2 months (<-- same for the koxxboxx).

Giacos new frame is still being tested as well, won't be out within the next 4 months.

  4. Lucien (username "trialcenter web") from France made that video. But he can't post here yet... so I'll translate what he just wrote me...

    Hey guys!

Im Lucien from Espacetrial.com and I made that video. Thanks for your comments, I really appreciate that, so does Ben I guess.

I wanted to film Stan Shaw, but he rode in a different class, so I decided to film Ben instead. He's very focused and has a great style.

The guy with him was indeed Waynio.

Ben, maybe you noticed that I followed you through all the zones on Sunday :P

Thanks again and see you soon!

  5. has anyone got a picture of that Ksas the OTHER way round so you can see if the disc mount is part of the dropout? or if it is welded on, i will have a bracket made by Boothy for mine i think, but was just curious to see if anyone had a pic from the other side.

    Cheers

    Waynio......................

There you go Waynio  Awesome ryhme...

Seems like they're just the standard dropouts and a weird adaptor? :S

(I don't have better ones, sorry.)

  6. It's pretty useless to discuss whether or not the price is justified. There WILL be people buying it. There is always something better for the same price or even cheaper. But that's not the point here. People looking for something special and different, will buy it. Just to have a heaset with ti and carbon.

  7. I'd say a pro is someone who makes a living out of his sport. So the only comp riders I'd consider being pros are Kenny, Vincent, Canas, Comas, Ot Pi and Ros. Beside riding comps and shows, they're Koxx/Monty/Maxxis distributors/dealers.

Kenny does lots of promo shows for Red Bull, worldwide (such as Canas and Ot Pi). And Red Bull pays him for doing that. Beside that, he gets a monthly salary from his Jacques & Topsport Vlaanderen cyling team. Seeing that, I'd say he's the most professional trials rider at the moment.

As for Vinco and Caisso - they are multiple trials world champions and especially Vinco does lots of shows (e.g at the Tour de France). Once you've made yourself a name, like both of them, you can make a good living out of your sport, just by doing shows and promotion for the sponsors. And believe me, they get a lot more than just a few 100 quid for their shows!

  8. It's a high quality bike part (ti, carbon etc.) and whether or not the price is justified - there will always be people out there willing to pay the price, just to have something special and different.

Same with a ti king headset. It doesn't make you ride better and it's absolutely useless to pay that much for a headset, as you can have an almost equivalent one (standard king) for just half the price.

As soon as a product is in a higher price range and features special materials, the quality of the product itself doesn't always count most. It's more the feeling of having something special on your bike.

  9. So the Koxxboxx then?

no, it's a different one, with just hydro formed tubes instead of both hydro formed tubes and boxx design, like on the koxx boxx.

A french guy was at the koxx factory, but he couldn't take pics or wasn't allowed to, so he roughly explained what the frame looked like, so I can't go into details on that...
