  1. IF you keep posting in this Topic it will be at the top for ages, like the topic "50inch sidehop over a wall" just leave it.
  2. I was merely commenting on the CLS post number 3123131 :S
  3. Sorry TPA, just through 1 year of expirience of messing around and trying to find the logic of a decent brake.
  4. Bump-Vital information you will thank me one day (Y)
  5. After recently seeing alot of posts about "how to set up my magura", I have decided to make a useful topic which should solve any problems to do with your brake. Firstly make a fresh start, (if you can) if you had previous brake problems and didn't set it up correctly the pads could be worn at stupid angles causing the whole process to be a struggle and you would have wished you never messed around with it. If your wanting to run a grind get some decent pads, I have always used Plazmatic CRM's which can be purchased from www.tartybikes.co.uk and www.cleanbikes.co.uk. These are perfect on ground rims, make a really nice noise (when set up perfect) and the wear rate is incredibly low. When I first get a brand new pair of pads i always check the angle they have been cut, if you look carefully at a new pads you will set its slightly angled at one end and perfectly straight on the other, work out which side of the pad is angled most and put that facing forward, the direction of the wheel. This is a common mistake people dont look out for, thats why even when you have set your pads up correctly they still wear at an angle. So you have put your pads in the right way. Loosen the TRA on the leaver. Let your tire(s) right down so you have full accuracy of setting up your brake, this way you can see that the pad is set up to the rim from all angles. DO NOT SQUEEZE THE BRAKE WITHOUT PRESSURE BEEN FORCED BETWEEN THE PADS This is another mistake people tend to make and it means 1 pad will go out before the other. If your tempted to test your pistons are moving correctly placed your hands over the pads and press in hard, get a somebody to pull the leaver in for you, this way the pistons are going out at the exact same time. If you had a Monty Brake splitter you wouldn't need to do this. Place your brakes into the clamps, I set my pads up 3mm on 1 side 4mm the other, as you will notice 1 pad will always go out before the other so it gives the other pad time to hit the rim making them hit at the same time. Make sure the pads are DEAD FLAT to the rim, not so 1 side touches before the other side. Think of 1 side of the pads being called A and the other being called B make sure A doesnt touch before B. They both have to touch AA or BB (flat) Tighten your clamps so you can just move the brake this way you can pression your brakes easier and when you tighten the clamp the brake won't suddenly move to an all new direction. Once you have your brake all set up its time to ride, you will notice the performance of your rear brake may be abit poor, this is because the pads (when fresh) are covered in a coating which turns to a black dust, not to worry though boil the kettle and poor it over the rim then ride with the brake on to clean up the coating from the pads. Leave to dry naturally. Hope this helped, its a little long I know but my brakes work amazing, and If CLS can trust me with setting his brakes up then it shoudln't be a problem for you. Cheers, Biff
  6. Koxx Browns are a must have if your running a smooth rim. You can purchase them from Tartybikes.co.uk or Cleanbikes.co.uk
  7. I use Pinnacle Studio 9 to edit my videos, its so simple. I have recently got my hands on Adobe Premier 6.5 which at the moment im playing around with as its a little bit more far fetched than pinnacle. I film using a Sony Xl1 movie camera its sweet!
  8. Where does Corish come into all this? or are you presuming its Corish :D
  9. Mine is set up as follows: Frame: Onza T-Pro Forks: Echo Easy Team Cranks: Monty 221 X-lite With fixed cog Front Rim: Echo CNC Rear Rim: Echo CNC Front Hub: 05 Echo Rear Hub: Mini Cassette Profile Bars: Monty riser Stem: Monty 221 Ti Stem Tires: Rear Maxxis: Front Echo Pedals DMR V8's Rid(es) like a dream, selling all the Bits off now to help do up my Pitbull. If you set yours up to a similar set up it rides beutiful, i tried Zoo bars and it felt like a full on comp bike, so easy to throw around. Cheers, Biff
  10. I agree, a Hope XC is a really good buy for the money and have excellent warranty cover. Another buy would be the new Echo 06 hubs which also come in an assortment of colour check out: www.Selectbikes.com for the Echo hub www.Tartybikes.co.uk for the Hope XC hub
  11. Just pure luck, put the 05 Ti on order 1 month before the pitbull (my mum payed for it for christmas). Phoned CLS up and we was talking about stuff etc and i offered him a fair price for his 06 pitbull frame because im selling my 20inch and my 26 old bikes for these 2 new beauties. So im sacrifising my old stuff to pay for the new stuff.
  12. 2003 is 2 years ago, i very much doubt they will still be in stock. If not try your local Halfords dealer.
  13. I got one of them, building it up. And my 221 Ti on order :P ordered the 05 Ti and got the 06 pitbull afterwards for some reason.
  14. Most of the members in our group are riders, even the girls. To be honest the feedback isnt as much as i hoped (Y) holding a comp/event might not have as big a turn out as lets say, the NBR comp held. Perhaps if i got craig and danny to pick a better spot people would turn up? somewhere a little closer?
  15. hahahaha! Right...! our Teacher said we COULD break into the £20,000 and take a very small preportion out of it if we needed the extra cash, not spend 20K on the event!!!!!! because what we are doing will take alot more than the £400 YE has given us to start with. £175 for 40 pallets etc etc Whats your problem, if you dont want to turn up its no real loss, and im not trying to sell anything! i just wanted people to turn up.
  16. no letting us break into it for extra cash if we need to, its hard to go bancrupt from 20k
  17. The £20.000 is there if we need to break into it from for the course, its our teachers own personal money, shes being nice so shes lending it us if you get me.
  18. News Update, how does every 3weeks to 1 month sound for the comp. Gives you time to travel down and arrange the trip also time to get alot of people down to enter!
  19. Its not actually Young Enterprise providing the 20K, its the school who is giving it to us as a loan. We are going to be holding the comp hop-idol style as opposed to scoring on dabs. If you have any input on this, it would be greatly appreciated. Biff.
  20. The £20,000 was offered to break into if we needed the extra cash which i think we might. Dont think everybody that the courses are going to be small 40+ pallets+pipes+cottons reels+logs is alot so we're thinking BIG! and fun obviously :P. Edit: only had one application in via Email so far, so send some through so i have an idea of how many people are likely to turn up. Halfords was my main priority at first, being bike mechanics is helful to have on site, also CLS and Danny Holroyd both work at Halfords so its good to have 2 well known trials riders help out and ride etc, and i know i can get in touch with them if i need them.
  21. I think we are scrapping the membership and just paying on arrival for that day. This way if you was to pay for membership and its hard for you to get down its going to be pointless. So this ways a little more comforting.
  22. Due to not being able to edit my original post, I'm forced to put up a new post so here goes. I am doing this in order to know/predict the business, and to get an idea on how much I will need to be spending, and how much not to spend. Could you please fill in the following information, copy the text once complete, then email to my hotmail account, there will be no replies to the 'interest application' just incsase you don't want your inbox clogging up (Y) The following information is not the actual application form that will be produced when the business takes shape. Name: Age: Bike: Skills Group: Junior, Beginner, Intermediate, Pro, Elite (Please delete all but your skill group) Bike Size: Email: --- Please email this small form to: koxxlevelboss20@hotmail.com Thankyou for any interest, I will get back to you with more news as soon as I can. Regards, Biff
