  1. If you do a year's apprenticeship you will spend the rest of your life in a crappy paid job, unless you know someone.

Any apprenticeships that I know of are usually 3-4 years, is that not the case for building and engineering type ones? Im really not 100% sure but in the same time as an apprenticeship you could have gone through uni, and end up earning more money, quicker, as you'll get paid more in some jobs simply for having the degree.

Im currently doing a Aeronautical engineering apprenticeship with BAE, min time is 3 years 2 months, max time 4 years

  2. I'd looked at that Alpine already, but it's buying facias, adapters, controllers, leads, all sorts... Do you still have the changer aux lead?

    Huh?!

Facias, all head units are of one (or two) sizes

adapters, he just said hes including that

    wtf is a controller?!

    leads? what leads?

  3. A friend of mine went in a ferrari 612 on sunday and said, whilst travelling down a dual carriage way, they looked down at the speedo to see 130mph. Said it felt like they were doing 30, not 130. And also going on what James may said on top gear, my guess is that these cars can easily doing double the speed of a average performance car on the same road. So even if he was doing 100+, Id say he was within the limits of the car. This is on another forum im on and a guy on there who knows that ^ road says its notoriously slippy. Meh. It was rented apparently aswell, 20k a day.

  4. meh, do what you can, and what you can afford to. Wayne etc seem to bum this as some amazing performance vehicle with hours and hours of work gone into it. I can bet there are 50 saff cossies with 10 times more hours spent on them in ten times better nick and looking ten times better. Not to mention performing ten times better. Ah well, some people want a can thats stands out, some people want a good car. meh

  5. Wtf why would you buy that?

Wayne, dont be a ass man, "those who dont get it dont understand BRITISH"

    Are you kidding?

That, although I can acknowledge the work thats gone into it, is shit. Whats the point? A cosworth engined sierra is a performance vehicle. Why make it a worse performing car putting it into a pickup chassis and body?

  6. 206 speakers are all in the doors. So rears are a waste of time plus the car is small anyway. Id say spend £400 front end and £200 on a sub/amp. All second hand.

The 206 speakers are quite large if I rmember, 17cm i think? So buying good mids will give you a really punchy front end. Which is nice. You will want to be budjeting at least £40/50 for sound deadening of them doors, being a french shit box they rattle like f**k. I dont think they have sepearate tweets though, so.................ill ask again, how good are you with your hands??

  7. Yes we have and I still think, while you have a more valid reason than most, it is still not require with the right equipment and placing etc.

Anyways, would you agree, for his budjet and car, no rears are required? They are in a awful place in the 206 aswell.

  8. Head units do sound different.

Alpines are ALWAYS bright headunits. The highs are always very high! lol So if you were to combine this with a speaker set which are also naturally peaky on the highs, your gonna hurt your ears. You want a relaxed speaker set with a alpine unit. Are they decent enough head untis first of all?

How confident are you at fibre glassing etc?

I love oasis too, and they are a seriously hard band to get sounding right in a car. Ideally a 3 way front end and 10in sub is what id go for. Which you could probably just about do with £600.

Your not gay are you and need to buy things new? Like all home/car audio, 2nd hand is the way to go. Especially for decent stuff, cos halfords gimps dont buy good stuff, so its always been well kept.

Bongo, did you get rear speakers??

Id 100% tell anyone to avoid buying rear speakers to be honest, especially in a 206 sized car. Bongos car is quite large (still shouldnt have got them though you gummy twat :shifty: )

  9. I cba reading whats above cos its late. But you can get standard amp sized jukeboxes which are wirelessly linked to your pc. Basically a harddrive, soundcard and wireless router in one box. Gives you full wireless access to your pcs music. to be honest, if your using it for mp3s, the sound loss you get for a 3.5mm jack is nothing to worry about :)

  10. If any other person from up north uses the word "chav" ill come round and piss in your ear. Its a southern word, leave it to the fairies boys! We need to keep the north/south divide strong, otherwise we will end up saying more shite like "chav" and "innit" etc. Whos with me! lol
