  1. No need for a new topic, just change the name.

I would say pro 2's front and rear, dengura/magura on the rear with braided hosing and some CNC pad backings with whichever compound you prefer. Echo external ISIS bb, from experience very good and reliable. Then if you want to try a different gear ratio like I did the Echo CNC cranks are very strong and relatively light, otherwise middleburns or something similar. Echo rims for extra strength or koxx/replicas for some weight saving.

Probaboly some fom of riser bars with a 120mm stem and about 15/20c rise, a front Magura Marta (yes I went there), rohloff or 74 kingz tensioner, some standard cassette, some maxxis tires, bog standard tubes, I would reccomend lockon grips, KMC SS chain, Magnesium pedals with ti axles, hope internal headset then if cash spare pimp it with either coloured alu bolts or ti bolts from pro bolt.

That would be my spec anyway, or will be my spec :P

  2. Anything with 2 outputs will do really, I personally chose my ATI card as its got very good video decoding features, but basically unless you play games you should have no problems with any card from the x600 and above or the 6600 and above, even a 7300 would be fine.

  3. They have some new cameras that take your speed about 1 mile away before you spot it, I dont think they are implemeneted in too many places, generally in places with long straight roads so it wouldnt be that cam be be warned.

I am pretty sure they could get you round a bend otherwise thats a huge oversight in the speed cam system.

  4. The only thing that requires that much ram is a server...and even thats pushing the boat out. You won't gain anything at all from 4gb....but who am I to convince you otherwise :P

As spike said, check the MB manual...with four slots its usually '1-2-1-2' order...so double check it.

My guess is down to the virtual address space...it basically wont appear without f**king about into PAE.

(By the way, if your running Xp, I think the total listed RAM in the BIOS is 3.25gb...)

Under 32bit that may be slightly true, but in general, if you add more ram there is a performance increae, Windows will load more in to the memory so its faster loading programs, things like iTunes will also use more depending how much is spare, and well firefox has a memory leak so more is always helpful.

I run 4gb ram and its uber fast, but I am on 64bit OS so it actually gets some use, just loading into windows, and msn uses 37%, add some music and firefox, 50%, then add a virus scan about 60%, still space to run more programs, plenty more, add on top of that Visual Studio, compiler etc, usuall gets into the region of 75/80%.

More ram is always handy, I still have 2 sockets spare so I can get 8gb in here, but thats overkill.

As for your problem, if your filling all 4 ram slots, the last of your worries is having it in the 1, 2, 1, 2 order, I think you find on most motherboards unless stated that if your using 4 slots to disable Dual Channel ram as I dont think many older mobos support 4 socket dual channel. Most newer ones do I think but check the manual to see if it supports dual channel over 4 slots as logically speaking, it becomes quad channel.

    What quad you running?

  5. I am aware Halo is a trilogy, but its guanteed Microsoft will not stop because its a trilogy, its a cash cow so they will continue making Halo games, I would not be suprised if there is a game before the original so we know how they came to fighting the covenant.

  6. HALO 3 ENDING:

Basically master chief kills the prophet that was doing all the bad stuff. They blow up the halo ring that they are on with the flood on it. MC and the Arbiter escape on that large ship. The arbiter gets through the portal and lands back at earth, everyone thinks MC (Spartan 117) is dead. He is not, his half of the ship did not get through the portal before it closed. He is still alive, he tells cortana to "wake me when im needed". He then climbs into the freezing chamber. This is the same freezing chamber he got out of in halo 1.

There are still 3/4 more rings as well as a vast galaxy that im sure has not totally been explored, thus leaving it open for more games.

Yeah thats the basics of it.

  7. So in this whole thread we managed to point out the only plusses to a PS3 are:

    Free online

2 Exclusives that are worth getting, or worded better, killer apps.

And Blu Ray if you care about next gen formats.

  8. What has he done to the Czar, a seat post, what is he thinking???????

I shall keep my 07 Czar, none of those frames take my fancy really, but I shall wait to see geo.

Again he has gone "hmm what do I have left over, aha a Gu front end, hmmm the Zoo seatubes and CNC yoke, then ooh got some spare GU drop outs, VOILA its a GU LE." Not a fan this year deng.

  9. Better machine: PS3

    Free Service: PS3

    More Powerful: PS3

    More Reliable: PS3

    Nicer Looking: Xbox!

    Better Service: Xbox

    .....

But the thing is. The Xbox has Halo and this game is worth taking the console back to game around 5 times and plus... the xbox is so much cheaper. Buy the xbox buy halo and spend the ret on your bike. Halo is the only gane you'll ever need (within reason)

HD DVD is gunna win too :P

If you read above I said why it is not actually a more powerful machine as the developers cannot unlock the power due to the SPEs mainly.

Also £40 a year is nothing, its just under £4 a month for a top quality service. As far as I am aware, from what I have heard, on the PS3 online service you have different logings for different games, you have different friends lists for different games etc, on the Xbox its just one login on friends list, its a lot easier. Then again you dont really hear much of the PS3 online where as Xbox Live is a common subject really.

  10. Just to clear a few things up first:

    1. The new chips are on a smaller manufacturing process, they are going to be built using 65nm instead of 90nm technology. This basically means that the transistors of the chip are smaller and closer together, this then reduceds power leaks, thus reducing power consumption and overall heat, meaning your Xbox will last longer. You can find a lot more on this by browsing net if anyone is interested.

    2. The PS3 DOES NOT have the capability to have superior graphics, its technically more powerful, but not graphically. The Cell CPU in the PS3, can technically run more threads than the 360 in one clock cycle because of the 7 SPEs, I have not read a lot about the SPEs but as far as I am aware they are quite physics related and are not much use for general CPU functions. So whilst technically the PS3 has a more powerful CPU it does not actually help because Games Consoles need more general purpose cores, such as the Xbox 360s tri-core which will run 2 threads per core, each clock cycle. After actually speaking to developers such as UBI Soft & EA they do actually prefer the 360 because of the ease of creating games, with Microsoft giving them a lot of support on the development end and relatively simple hardware to use, Sony have powerful hardware but its just a pain to program with.

The PS3 RSX graphisc chip is not as powerful as the Xbox 360s R500 which is why you will not see the PS3 having better graphics, mainly because in short, its a PC graphics chip, the R500 is a purpose built gaming chip with 10mb eDram which is mega fast which helps the 360 run 2xAA minimum on all games, unless the developer chooses to use it otherwise.

To summarise that, the PS3 has a technically more powerful CPU, but less powerful GPU, the 360 has a more general purpose CPU and a more powerful GPU, making the 360 a lot easier to program.

I would reccomend the 360, it has stolen so many games from the PS3 exclusives list and more to the point what games are there on the PS3 which are not on the 360 that make the console worth buying?

    360 Exclusives:

    Halo 3

    PGR 4

Gears of War (now on PC but not PS3)

    Crackdown

    Forza 2

Bioshock (on pc but not PS3)

Saints Row (SR2 will be on ps3 but its not out till 2008)

    Amped 3

    Dead or Alive series

    Fable 2 (not out yet)

    Huxley (not out yet)

    Kameo: Elements of Power

    Perfect Dark Zero

    Mass Effect (not out yet)

    PS3 Exclusives:

    GT5

MGS 4 (massive rumor its coming to 360 as well though)

    Warhawk

    Tekken

    Heavenly Sword

    Killzone 2

    Resistance: Fall of Man

I have only put down the big games really for exclusives, but weigh up which games you prefer really, but are you willing to pay the extra money when you can get some absolutly amazing games on the 360 for less? Can find bigger lists on the net but the 360 lists just grows in length.

As for the online service, I have never used the PS3 online nor do I know anyone who has, however I have used Xbox Live and its fantastic, it might cost £40 a year but its guanteed good gaming. You get a very good service for £40, download HD music videos, game trailers, latest demos etc its very good.

Now the final point I shall make that is a very odd one but I am sure many 360 gamers will agree with me here, the Achievements system. This really does add more length to the games, you get nothing but points for them, however I have found them slightly addictive. I dont buy games to get a high gamer score but the games I do buy it adds more to them. Skate for example, get a 10,000 point line, its not too hard, but its not too easy, it just gives you something extra to do that you normally would not aim for. Its hard to explain their addiction but they are really good fun, especially on Crackdown, climing the huge HQ and then jumping off into the water :P Great fun.

Overall get a 360, might have gone a bit OTT with the post but theres so much good to say about them. Only downside is the RROD, I have only had it once, but if your console is within 1 year old, Game should replace it in the shop, they did mine.

  11. I am loving the hole in the seatube, that is genious. It looks lovely, I love my Czar so nice to ride.

I think deng should learn from this forum, take a bit of weight off his frames and they would be amazing, or do comp spec ones, that have thinner tubing to save us drilling them.

  12. im a mod rider who has and does most moves......i think the only one i dont do is tap!

Last time I tried to tap a mod, my nuts felt the pain, never again.

From experience, one mate of mine went from riding mod to stock, on his mod, he sidehopped and that was it, he has even admitted before that "all I did on the mod was sidehop". Then another friend, some might know him, Adrian from Woking?, he went from stock which he was very good on, to mod, and he basically stopped gapping and went to sidehopping.

If you watch some of the more recent videos of just normal riders, most mod videos I find have just sidehops, or like billocks, drop gaps. Most stock videos have a huge variety of riding, they will sidehop, gap, dorpgap, tap, up to front etc.

Not aiming the mod riders only sidehop at one person, more the "new generation" of mod riders, and the tucking thing is deffinately a new generation thing too, I hardly ever remember Danny Holroyd doing a huge tuck on a sidehop, infact I barely remember him sidehopping.

  13. Whoever said about the english people tucking is right. Too many people tuck on small walls that are about 30" or so, I cannot sidehop that high about 42" at best and I still do not tuck on it. You have to get the actual technique right first, as Spode said pages back, the more your spring the higher you go, when you have gone as high as you can then you add a tuck to get the extra height. A lot of the walls that have been tucked on here you could put your bloody front wheel on before sidehopping it at all.

Too much emphasis on tucking not enough on actualy hoping, more to the point it gets pretty boring when all you see mod riders do is basically sidehop, seems to be a fashion at the moment. Been on a few rides recently and all the mod riders do is sidehop stuff and the occasional gap here and there, then sidehop some more.
