  1. Last week I bought a Because Simple, having got bored of the high BB on the Zhi. It came extremely speedily from TartyBikes, and looked like this.

I built it up, and it looked like this.

I took it for one ride, decided I didn't like the color, I desperately needed some new rims, and that my dyslexic brain can't deal with snail cams. So it now looks like this.

    And I love it.

Slight bit of creative thought required to fit the Rolhoff without a mech hanger, but it works :)

Adding the Rolhoff meant weight had to be shaved off in a few other areas. Like disc mounts.

Super glue is lighter than cable guides. Fact.

All in all, pretty darn chuffed. Not all the paint has come off but it's left the frame with a kind of rough industrial look that I'm quite fond of. The Heatsink pads on Rockman/TrialTech rims are working great.

Vid should be out by then end of the week hopefully :)

  2. Cheers guys, much appreciated.

what rear tyre are you running ?

    ace video!

Its a standard Maxxis Minion DHR super tacky dual ply with every other nobble cut off.

Great video mate! And I cant believe you ride Pentewan without me and james!! Its 2mins form james house plus the rocks is like next door!! dam you rich!! ride sooooon!

EDIT: Can really appreciate how big most of that was!

Aye sorry dude, was only there for the morning and we weren't even sure we were gonna go! Next time (if my bloody hand heals itself)...

  3. Everything about this makes me so sad. I go out and ride my bike as much as I can, and I enjoy it. That's trials for me. Things have changed, yeah, but nothing's 'dead.' Is it the hardest thing to ask that we all just accept the differences within our sport and with every other sport, and let people be?

Sorry that as a whole the sport isn't what you think it used to be. It's not dead, its just changed. And I ride a seatless bike doing one move at a time and I live in the middle of nowhere. Saying its dead is like saying that what I do is totally redundant. A little respect and courtesy on everyone's behalf wouldn't go amiss.

    Cheers now.

  4. its not a new frame. just wanted to do it to make the frame look cleaner. now it seems like not such a fresh idea haha.

Thought about trying superglue? I know what you mean about trying to make the frame look tidier, especially when I got my new Zhi and hated the look of zipties all down my top tube, soooooo -> My bike.

Just ziptie it in place (you'll need about ten zipties) and carefully apply a layer or two of superglue. I've tidied mine up since those pics and removed all the white residue. Just looks generally really tidy.

Should save you having to go drilling anything :)

  5. Sounds cool. To be honest I don't think theres anywhere that I'd drive to just to ride there at that distance, no matter how good it was (went up to Newcastle for Drummonds gig the other day but that was more out of support for Ian) but if I'm ever in the area I'll definitely look it up and stop by.

  6. I don't know what camping facilities there are like but coming from so far away (West Cornwall, about 350miles) it'd be cool if there was at least the opportunity of a shower and a flushing toilet. Apart from that what I've seen of Barrow looks pretty sharp. Got any plans for some indoor stuff?

  7. Facebook Link

Cheers to Matt Vandart for getting the frame to me and for everyone else who provided bits here and there, especially Heatsink Bikes for the amazing CNC pads. They work so... damn... good...

Will get a video out shortly when I can get out on the bike for a full day.
