  1. Amazing effort. Rails looked scary, I'm quite surprised they need to be that high and you have to go there and back. As for the 4,5m drop, hats off to you for attempting that 3 times and not walking away  Shows real dedication. Perhaps it's just the angle but it looked like you weren't trying to lower yourself into the drop before taking off the edge?

    Cheers all....

The grass landing is allowed but as I didn't ride it out then it doesn't count, and as Brett fell off the rails before completing the 50 gaps then his doesn't count either.... The 2 target drops do count though...

I lowered into the drop pretty good, at that hight it's no longer a drop, it's actually a free fall and the bike wants to leave your pedals... If you flick the back end down too quick then you loose contact with your feet so it's hard to get the front end low....

  2. Ben Savage cleared 54" on his stock at a comp the day before the BIU worlds in Czech so I can't see the record is 52"

At the last official Guinness attempt to break the world record bunny hop, Hermance was the last 26" rider to bow out at 54", but they were taking off from a plyboard stage which had some flex and spring so for the purpose of our bunny hop comp (which was on grass) we set the standard for a stock at 52"....

It doesn't really matter as the comp was more of a showcase / crowd pleaser in the end... not an official attempt...

We broke 2 official records the day before so the comp was a chance to de-stress and chill with old mates... the records vid will follow once we get the footage from our events team....

  3. 5K! Gosh wheres he coming from?

Good luck with it all, they all seem like pretty easy records to break so I would'nt worry to much.

Ha, cheers ben... Yeah they are kind of easy records so as long as the weathers ok we aren't worried..... the hard bit is finding time to practice when we are so busy doing events and prepping for Sunday's comp.... the vid in this thread literally shows every single practice drop we have done so far...

You should get yourself up here for the sunday mate, it's gonna be an awesome comp...

  4. Ha, have you seen this?

    Ben.

Ha, nice vid mate... You have to ride at least 3 meters once landed, plus the mat can only be 2cm thick...... I guess he's just celebrating the fact that he survived....

when you say you are getting paid, do you mean Guinness pays you or you are getting paid for putting on shows at the event?

Guinness don't pay anyone... To get a guy from Guinness to come and adjudicate attempts costs £5000 plus travel.... And if you want info from them but aren't willing to wait 6 weeks it'll cost you over £400.... They have a cushy little business model eh!

  5. The 360 drop onto a platform seems very difficult! How many tries will you get?

I assume the surface you will drop on won't be grass aswell, which would make it a bit more difficult than your training. Dropping to concrete is alot harsher.

Yeah we'll be landing on grass on the day, it's a tricky drop which twists the old back muscles so even though I'm allowed as many attempts as I like my back will give in after around 5 goes... Fingers crossed eh : )

No way that looks and sounds so fun, why does it have to be so far up country (N)

Because the event hiring us is based in Newcastle.... Which is on a national rail route and has a mega bus drop off station.... No excuses y'all !

Quality mate, good luck with it. That drop at the end looks insane, you drop the front wheel so low, looks awesome in slo-mo.

Cheers dude, glad you like it : )

ive seen someone do over 5m drop

i think it was a spanish rider on a 20" bike

imo it was an official record attempt but I could be wrong

Well aren't you a lucky sausage! Guinness tell us that the official record is 4m, I'm happy to drop from between 4 and 4.5 any higher is really gonna hurt!

mods are gay they shouldn't count lol

right next to a police station no less bloody vandals! :giggle:

Why don't I know who you are mate? I thought I knew every trials rider in Houghton!!

So why? DO you win some money if you do???

We are getting paid whether we make it or not.... But I think every trials rider out there would like to lay claim to a world record or 2, it'll certainly be a career highlight for me...

Please get some new forks, bars, stem, pedals, cranks and bb before attempting to break these records. I'd hate to see the consequences if something snaps.

Ha, yeah I'm a little worried about the state of my steed at the mo, snapped my forks the same day that we filmed this vid.... Tarty order was sent in yesterday, all will be right in due time....

  8. No probs dude, im already in talks with a Mr Jonathan Dixon who is in charge of coordinating a sports development program to build 5 bmx race clubs within the Greenwich/London borough, so whilst im helping him with various ideas, he's in turn pointing me in the right direction with my ideas for the trials scene ie; parks comp events and so on. Its alot of talk, talk, and more talk with various people/organizations in the know. Basically alot of headache rant to make the simple sh*t happen.

    Sounds good buddy,

I miss the days when the hardest part of setting up an event was just finding enough mates to fill a field with obstacles! But the red tape is the most limiting factor these days, its all worth it in the end though so keep hacking a way at it!

If you think I can help with anything then just inbox me and I'll do whatever I can....

  9. Well keep up the good work anyway as ive got some project ideas in the works via using the 2012 London Olympics as an opportunity vehicle. So your services will certainly come in use at some point in the future......hopefully sooner than you think...starting this spring/summer free public events.

Sounds interesting, give me a shout anytime to discuss...

  10. Would be sick if you could get the funding and support to move such a large scale event from place to place.

Well it would be easy to pull that off mate, we've been carting around ramps and trials sections for years, we've toured much larger operations before with our stunt show antics in the past...

The problem is that the trials community just wont support such a project, their just isn't enough interest from riders to cover the costs never mind make any discernible profit... and the attendance figures wouldn't attract the required funding / support either....

I fear that trials is destined to be a spectacle hired in as a feature at events, basically demo teams performing demos.... their just isn't enough interest in bike trials to create a profitable stand alone event / tour / comp etc...

A mixed event tour could be good though, maybe with moto trials and a few other cross over sports.... if the attendance and spectator numbers were high then sponsorship opportunities could make things viable....

    Rant and mind vomit over!

  11. Heya,

    www.speedrace.net is their own website...

We are sponsored by them, check out the galleries on our site: www.3sixty.me.uk

They don't have a UK importer at the mo but we are in the process of sorting that out, we are awaiting a price list for their 2011 range and once we have everything in place we will post up prices...

If you see something you like on their site then drop me a mail and I'll source a price for you...

  14. still don't know about this, will the ramps still be usable? how big is the place (as in will it be crowded?)? Got some filming work next month so that might be an issue too.

    Hey Ali....

Yes the ramps will be open and usable...

The place is big pretty big, the trials area in the vid is only a third of the floor space that will be used on the day.... if you want to get some filming done then inbox me and we can sort a session with just you either the day before or after the Jam??

Hope you can make it, its gonna be a great day....

  15. Nice vid...Amazing riding....Well Filmed....However I think there's a fantastic 3 to 4 minute video in there, maybe with fewer messy manuals (at the beginning) or arty shots...

Just my opinion... I dont want to take any kudos away from what was still a very nice vid : )

    Well Done...

  16. Knut has some amazing gaps and ups in this vid but his style is sooo manic...! Looks like he devoured a breakfast of pro plus drenched in Redbull and snorted a Whiz brunch before heading out to film!!!!

Still I wish I had that much energy and spring....

  17. Hi all,
