    What's the retail on something like that? Mythbusters must have like 10 of the things.

    Currently $17k for a body, by the time you've added some rails, handles and a viewfinder and monitoring screen it'll be $25k. Oh, and a set of RED prime lenses is $19k, with $2k knocked off the 300mm if you order at the same time for the bargain price of $4k.

    Mythbusters (and some stuff on Top Gear) is shot at a lot more than 120fps! Most shoots requiring super slo-mo is either hired or low res. It's why the high speed footage on Mythbusters looks so bad :)

    Looks like we'll get the ZR1 in the next episode, can't wait to see what that thing is capable of. Now that Americans have started making proper cars, things could get quite interesting.

    1:19-1:20ish lap time at a guess?

    More than that, 1:25+. The ZR-1 doesn't handle, but that's not much of a problem on the TG track as it's all about power. Which the Corvette has lots of. Even though it's rubbish.

    I'm tempted to think that the Ken section was shot by the same guys that do his internet vids, rather than usual Top Gear crew, it had a very similar feel, unless they simply copied his normal style. I suspect it would have been shot on red for those slow-mo shots, they did look awesome.

    It was the BBC crew, and yes, the 120fps bits were shot on a RED One (As were the normal speed bits too...)

    It doesn't need to be a heavy weight blog, but it just seems that 140 characters will quickly turn into "Gr8 vid!! tinyurl.com/unuibnv"

    A proper blog means you can write a bit more, even if it's just a couple of lines, and provide a link/thumbnail/preview.

    Plus the fact it's on Twitter means it won't be obsolete in a year.

    Don't get me wrong, it's a decent concept, I just don't think Twitter is the right place to do it.

    ... like which? I'm not a professional Blogger :unsure:

    But i don't want a "overloaded" Blog and you can be sure, that all those links lead to good vid's, so there is no Necessity in having a preview.

    You don't have to be a professional blogger, all the blogsites (Typepad, blogspot, blogger) do free blogs you can set up in minutes, dead easy.

    Also blogs don't have to be overly wordy either. You could have a post that said:

    "Following on from his previous video, Danny MacAskill has done it again, showing off his skills in Spain. It's also the first time that we've seen his new sponsor Addidas. Watch the video here: Http://somevideolink.com"

    You can then tailor the entries to be as long or as short as you like. It gives you a chance to add value though, add your thoughts and/or analysis if you wish.

    Either way, it won't be obsolete in a year.

    I'm quite happily to believe it was Michael in the FXX, as it is *his* FXX. It was the same with the Maserati MC12, the owner donned the white getup to do the fast lap. Same with Heikki Kovalinen in the Renault...

    Does it matter? It's just a running joke really. I can't believe how seriously people take it.

    As for the races, have you noticed how they rarely mention the margin of victory? The GT-R/Bullet train one was close, as was the 612 going to Verbier, but the Veyron race? That could have been a couple of hours between them quite easily. Same with the one last night, or the Merc SLR going to somewhere in Scandanavia.

    Apparently what they do as well is race, the go back and shoot insert shots when they have time to properly set them up and so on, which can account for changes in light/weather. It also depends which bits are used for editing, last night an interior shot from the Jag could have been in the rain, but not nearly as noticeable as an exterior of Hammond on the bike.

    At the end of the day, it's an entertainment show, and a good one at that. Can't wait for the Ken Block episode :D

    But for now 5th Gear gets the nod in terms of actual car stuff.

    5th Gear is incredibly dull and far less informative than a decent magazine. Drivers Republic is the driver's choice.

    The thought was in the back of my mind, but not certain for sure. Plus Ferrari have half a dozen drivers they could send, usually Dario Benuzzi. Ferrari do not insist on keeping hold of FXX cars at the factory, and several owners do keep them - such as the collectors who have never run their cars. Edo have converted one car for road use (somehow) too. However, for those who run the cars at the Ferrari events then it's just easier to let Ferrari handle all the transport and maintenance.

    You are being taught brainwashed about evolution by people who are either guessing the facts or who want to blinker you from the truth! Now there is an environment of people who I would not want to be around, people who are so worried you will question your faith in their church that they will lie to you in order that you do not doubt! Clearly they doubt the strength of your faith... (or are just plain lieing about something they don't understand, you pick, either way it's a disgusting way for a supposed Christian to act)

    Its impossible to change your physical make up to change your surroundings

    If you live somewhere where all the food is on high trees, wouldn't humans in that area all either be really tall, or really able to climb trees?

    if you could people would have cottoned on to that durring battle camoflauge is extremely important and they would have changed there apperance to become camoflauged.

    And battle has been hapening since for thousands of years, so they could of been evolving over that time.

    But has it happended? No people just were camoflauged clothing.

    But humans evolve differently to other animals because we look after each other, create tools, but we do evolve. We tend not to exist in some survival of the fittest though.

    If an early human had develeoped a mutation which allowed them to be naturally cammoflaged, then they'd have had a natural advantage, killed the non-cammo people, and had lots of cammo babies. That's natural selection. The thing is you don't evolve in once generation, you evolve in hundreds of generations. For example, people now are talled than those around 0AD. This is scientific fact. We are evolving to be taller (and potentially run faster, be stronger) because humans consider this a good trait.

    Evolution does happen, but not in you, it's who you breed with, and who your kids breed with, and so on...

    The other thing is that the human population is so large and diverse that one person with a mutation can not easily or quickly become dominant in some way. Scientists have predicted that in the future the colour of skin across all humans will eventually merge into a single caramel colour as we cross-breed.

    If you follow big bang theory (backed up by nice, sturdy physics) then the idea of a universe essentially concertinering back and forth in and out of existance is pretty clear. We then get into "What is the universe contained in?"

    I think the universe is a bit like a bubble, existing briefly before vanishing - of course existing to us for millions of years....

    Now, to that twonk who was wondering why we don't grow fur, the simple answer is natural selection. Humans find people less hairy to be generally more attractive, so less hairy people breed more copiously, and hence we are becoming increasingly hairless. It ain't God, it's humans.

    I hate the now show with a passion. Not just because it's usually very unfunny and way too try-hard, but because it displaces the best thing on radio 4 (The NewsQuiz) from the schedule.

    Although I am enjoying the concept of discussing radio 4 shows on TF :P

    The best thing on Radio 4 is I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue (RIP Humph) though The News Quiz is great. I love The Now Show too though, and it's nice to alternate between the two. I went to see Just a Minute being recorded in Loughborough many years ago, and it's a great night out. The sheer enthusiasm of the crowd is great, and I was rolling with laughter.

    Anyway, isn't the shipping forecast the best thing? I'm fairly sure it's made up like Mornington Crescent as a joke by the fishing community on the rest of us...
