  1. I've just had an e-mail from monty about the rear disk mount, and they said that the maker of the 221 X-Lite 2005 missed to make a modification on the frame so the first series of this model were not strong enough to resist the rear disc brake.

They also said that the 221pr 06 would be able to run a rear disk as the modifications have been changed. So hopefully it should be able to hold it :)

  2. Even those that have, will only have had their frames for a matter of weeks

ohh yeah didn't think of that :- .

I'm Hoping the mounts will be strong, because the rest of the frame does look pretty strong.

  3. Hi everyone

I've been building up a monty 221 pr, and i was wondering whether to try out a disk on the rear, something like a hope trial disk brake.

However i have heard a couple of people say that the disk mounts on the 221pr aren't that strong, but i don't know if this is true or not.

So i was wondering if any of you guys have had any experiences of running disks on the back of a 221pr and how the frames held up, and whether the mounts would be strong enough to run a disk.

    Cheers

  4. Cool vid guys (Y) . Looks like a good place to ride.

Whos the guy on the python, just wanted to know how your brake works on the rear echo rim with the anodised brake surface. Does it hold well??

    Keep it up guys (Y)(Y)

  5. what pads should i order?

The zoo pads are pretty good, thats what i currently use, nice and loud. They can be a bit crap in the wet though. :-

I've had my pads for quite a while now and theres still a fair bit of life left in them.

  6. I go down the gym at least 3 times a week and im quite built and i ride at any given opportunity, i do abit of free running with some mates for a laugh, but it helps with balance and agility, but mainly just ride and work out (Y)

How long do you work out for every time you go to the gym?? I did start doing a basic workout on my arms and chest for a little while but then i stopped :ermm: . I think i will start again, need to get abit stronger :- .

    Cheers Chris

  7. hey hey jo, its been a wile! Im well on my way back!

It was my first night out proper riding yesterday and tonight since two whole years, i done a big drop last night and then had to go bigger tonight and i done a lorry container drop, rather big B) considering its my 2nd ride since 2 years! I met a couple of lads fron colchester, one of them got a pic of me doing the container drop, ones called luke and the other chris ( aight ladz ) ONE HAND LUKE + ZOO RIDER (the zoo rider one aint exactly right, i forget his username again, sorry dude!) any way, its going wel and im getting back into the swing of things, cant wait for a mad london ride!

    Yo dude!!!

That wernt a bad ride actually, good to get some more trials riders on the scene :Dlol.

We should go riding more often

Hopefully Luke will put some pics up soon.

Also bit of topic but meh, your car sounds well nice, cant remember did you say you changed the engine????

    Cheers Chris

  8. Got mine today, absoutley beaut.

I can't ride mine as my old forks steerer is too short, so i'm going to have to wait for the new forks to arrive before getting out on it.

I was slightly concened about the lack or rear booster mounts on the frame as I don't like booster's mounted on maggies too much, the rear brake area is definately stiff enough to run magura's without a booster.

Also impressed with the steam and bars, the bars are just so light....

The 2.7 tyre is lush too......

My only gripe would be that the sticker for the seat area will inevitably crease, because it has to bend one way due to the bend in the top tube, and another due to the tube being circular.....Hopefully it'll be easy to sort out. I gotta go to work now unfortunately but im very happy with mine indeed.

Forks should be available in a week im told.

EDIT: I just put the sticker on, I stuck the middle down, making sure it was centered properly, and then at the point where it's widest I worked from the middle towards the sides slowly, almost stretching the sticker then it's just a case of making sure the sides are stuck properly.... It's very easy actually...

What colour you got red or sliver?

Whens its all built whack some pics up, i love the look of these bikes. :D

I ordered my 221pr frame today B) , but unfortunately it will probably be another couple of months before i get to ride it :( , as i've only got frame, headset and bottom bracket at the mo.

    Cheers Chris
