It's just a bundle with certain options picked, i.e. 4770k over a 4670k, 16gb c9 instead of 8gb c9 etc.

Not familiar with the functionality you're describing? We're using workgroup pdm and exporting the pdfs to the server for other people to use; an element of human error possible if the latest versions aren't exported from the vault however we can't justify the cost of enterprise pdm and the pdfs will work well enough
Aye, renders were bog standard photoview with the resolution and a couple of settings bumped up; not overly familiar with rendering at the moment but it has highlighted that our GRP and polyethylene materials are too shiny
Whoops meant Parasolid. Since moving to Solidworks recently(ish) we found the Parasolid file formats to be amazing for sending solid models to manufacturers and FEA types. Seems to be so compatible and you can add so much info with great control over it. Have had far fewer follow up requests for drawings.
Btw check out TeamPlatform, syncs nicely with workgroup pdm but is a bit different than standard offerings. Has worked out cheaper for us, it may do for your set up too.

Really? An 8350 has very similar all round performance to a mid range Lynnfield chip released 3 years before them. Yes they are faster for synthetic multithreaded benchmarks, however, very few programs are really that optimised for them. Solidworks for example has elements that can utilise multiple cores but it's kernel is still single threading.

It depends what package/distro you are running but smartctl is included as part of smartmontools so should be able to see power on hours using this on most. Works for me on ubuntu 12.04.4.
smartctl -a /dev/sda | grep Power

How do you find that out? Would be interesting to see what mine are on. One is 4 years old, the other is 5 years old. One of them is in my server now, which I think is the 5 year old one...

My original F1 is still running too. I didn't realise it's been quite that long but it works out at something like 5 years 3 month powered on.

So I've got hold of a frame, a brand new 2013 commencal meta am. Only trouble is it is just the frame only so was never supplied with a shock/shock mount. Now I have a fox rp2 shock but unsure what mount exactly is required. Can anybody reccomend a place that's good with this sort of thing? I've contacted a few places, I was just seeing if anywhere was good in particular.

If the shock you have has the right e-e and stroke check betd out for the strong bushes and the accompanying hula hoop bushes and you're sorted.

Well you could use the IGP on modern cpus but it wouldn't be so nice to use. You only need an entry level card though, you don't tend to get much performance increase with the super expensive cards.
The cpu tends to be a bottleneck so only on tiny assemblies can you see any real benefit.
