No, no, no ..... My new assistant's photocopier broke down (or something like that) and she was unable to photocopy for us. As it was, she put the entry forms in the post to everyone on Friday night and should be with you tomorrow. Send them straight back ... After over 50% of entries on the day at the last event (88 riders), we cannot let this continue. Pre-entry only lads ... there's no excuse, the entry form is available now on-line to either download or pay and enter on-line HERE See you on Sunday (weather's looking good)! Barbara
-
Hi Andy I might think about turning up to one or two of them. See you there.
-
Yes, it starts at 10.00am ... don't forget it gets dark early now and a lot of people have a long way home to go! Right ... over 70 entries and I've still some on-line entries to process, and whatever comes in today's post. If you haven't already entered, please can you complete the on-line entry form during today so that I can have everything ready before we start. Failing that, please download and fill in an entry form and bring it with you. Entry forms are available on the Events page of www.biketrialuk.co.uk EVERYONE WELCOME! Barbara PS. When filling in the on-line entry form you must use a genuine email address or the form doesn't work!

Matt - no, the ticket can only be used at TykeTrial. But everyone who provides an observer that we use will get their entry fee refunded at this event - so if your dad wants to do it again .... ! Tim - yes, please get your entry form off now. Cheques are never banked until after the event, so could you send a post-dated cheque? We want the event to run smoothly, and whilst we will never turn an entry away if there is room for them, if people just turn up on the day it makes it much harder to run administratively. If you can get all of the paperwork and payments sent in advance it makes it so much easier on the day - all you have to do then is to sign on and collect your punchcard. Late entries, people who haven't paid etc only delay the start time and get me stressed out!!!! Just a reminder, we need to start the comp at 10.00am prompt as the clock's will have changed and it'll be getting dark early!

13 days to go and entries are coming in ... don't forget yours ... everyone welcome! www.biketrialuk.co.uk

Barbara replied to BikeTrial Federation's topic in Trials Chat
Thank you kind sir :$ :$ :$ You know how much i enjoy a challenge Where do you want getting next? If you're an OAP, what does that make me???? I think it was Mr Raven's work Barbara -
Chris is a fantastic guy and we'll miss him a lot (and his dad) ... having said that, I got his entry for tomorrow's Addingham comp yesterday so we'll be seeing him tomorrow! Barbara
-
Hi Matt, I can think of at least two sections easy to get to, and where you should be able to see it all from the one place. Come early and you can choose!
-
So glad you managed to make it then! So where did the team finish in Czech please? Can't find any results anywhere except biketrial-spain and that doesn't give team results.
-
You want handbags? I've got loads. I just can't resist this one Can anyone spot who was late for the team photo and late for the start of the parade in Spain in 2006? At least they turned up this year for the parade ... t-shirt on or back to front or not! ("kelly farm trials" and "p rew@theciderbarn" know what I'm talking about) Well done to everyone who rode this year. Anyone know where the team came overall?
-
We'll be there 10'ish on Saturday to unlock for the loos etc if you can get up Matt. Sorry John, won't be up Friday night, going to get the paperwork etc done in plenty of time instead of at 2am on Sunday!!! Press have confirmed that they'll be there and are sending photographer and reporter, TV very interested but haven't confirmed yet, and Silsden Council are sending along the Mayor to support us! Pre-entries are now about the same as the pre-entries were for Blackpool - if anyone's planning on coming but haven't entered yet, as always I will take entries on the day (but would REALLY appreciate a phone call, text or email to let me know name, age, class). Entry fee £10 - everyone welcome from complete beginners to elite/master. See everyone there!
-
Early news from first round in Czech ... Ben Savage 2nd Master Sam Oliver 7th Cadet Wayne Mahomet banned by UKBikeTrial????!!! Sorry, not heard about anyone else yet.
-
Good luck to everyone going - hope all goes well for you all.
-
Yep, £10 is correct!

No set date yet, we're trying to wait until other people have set their dates so that we don't clash again but can't wait forever! Hope it can be in October, we have the dates for the cycle show so can avoid that, just waiting to see if there will be any other "late" dates to fill in. Watch out for another new venue? We need the date before we can firm anything up. Will confirm details just as soon as they can be set. Barbara
-
Hi Wayne The venue is the club's all day and as far as I'm concerned you can stay there till midnight as long as I don't have to! Of course, for insurance, only people who have signed on for the comp can be allowed and someone will have to monitor that - it can't be just a "free for all" with anyone/everyone turning up at night! A couple of the committee including the Clerk of Course (Mr Peacock) should be there for safety/accidents; to make sure litter's picked up; no motorbikes come on (that's part of the agreement to use it); and the gate's locked when the last person leaves. By the way, it's not the final round, we've been waiting for other dates to be settled/announced before we set the date of the final - hopefully sometime in October. Best 5 rounds out of 6 to count. Championship to date is here See you in a fortnight! Barbara

STRICTLY no practising.

Thank you, although I didn't do it alone! Paul Metcalfe is the main person who rang the planning office nearly every day for about a month and lobbied all the local councillors and mayor. It should be Paul that we're thanking on this occasion.
-
Results done. I NEED SOME PICTURES PLEASE!!! Will try to get the next entry form out this week in between wedding plans, but if I don't, you can enter on-line from www.biketrialuk.co.uk Barbara PS. Thanks to EVERYONE for making it a really good day. PPS. Telcon with council - we can run another whenever we want - they were well impressed!

I've just found a copy of the Lord Mayor of Bradford's speech made at the opening ceremony of the World Championship in 2005. I will send that to Mr Fothergill along with a letter. A few quotes ... "As Lord Mayor of Bradford may I also welcome you to the Bradford Metropolitan District of Addingham Moorside, where the trials will take place. Addingham Moorside is I know, a well-established and exceptional venue for the British Bike Trial Championship. The largely rock face terrain will I’m sure test all riders to the limit. " "It is fantastic that a Yorkshire venue has been chosen to host such a world-class event, an event in which 22 nations are represented bringing more than 750 international visitors to the area. Hosting such events is extremely important for both the profile and prosperity of this Region." "The recent exciting news that London will host the 2012 Olympic Games has already resulted in Yorkshire being identified as a region capable of providing world class training facilities and hosting world class events in a range of different sports. How well we can do this now in ever growing sports and activities such as mountain biking, will, without doubt, influence the allocation of future resources that will enable us to host more major sports events in the Region both pre- and post Olympics." "I know that in my city of Bradford and District, cycling in its variety of guises is consistently found to be one of the most popular activities amongst our primary school children. After all, most if not all children have, or have access to, a bike. We know that nationwide, obesity levels amongst our children are growing, however, at national, regional and local levels we are working hard to encourage all our young people to be more active – what simpler message could there be than “ ON YER BIKE!” (we say that in Yorkshire, too.)" "Cycling or biking is both a sport and an everyday activity – I believe that is its great strength. Over this weekend young people will be inspired by performances and skills at the highest level, inspired to get involved, to take part and to be the best that they can be." "My final message to all the riders this weekend is:- “Compete fiercely, we expect no less Compete fairly, we demand no less But most importantly – enjoy yourselves”

For years you guys have been calling for competitions that you don't need to buy all the licences for - here it is at last, and still someone complains! It is not an NBTC event, it is organised by "BikeTrial". You do not have to join any club to enter - it is therefore a National and not 'closed to club'. ANYONE can enter. You do not need to buy any membership or licences. There are riders coming from all over the UK - including the Channel Islands and Scotland - what could be more "National" than that? The alternative group whose website Phil linked to is running their events under the Auto-Cycle Union. The ACU have said on the phone today that their "British" Championship can only be run by ACU Affiliated clubs, and ridden by ACU licence holders. Does this not make it an ACU championship and not a true British Championship? Ok lads and ladies - it is up to you to make this what you want it to be. Forget any personalities involved:- If you oppose the ACU's domination of your sport, then enter the "UK National Championship" series. If you agree that entry should be restricted, join an ACU club, buy the two licences required, then enter the ACU's "British Championship" series. I know that I will be at Bracken Rocks; Blackpool; Brimham; Fort William; and Addingham, along with many others who have shown support for this new user-friendly system.

Barbara replied to ZHI_Chris's topic in Trials Chat
Click here for the Entry Form Gears are required for the Expert and Elite Classes, they are not required for the Guest Classes. Standard BIU observing rules. The second page of the entry form has directions, also the nearest campsite and contact details for the Tourist Information, they can supply information on accommodation. The form says closing date Wednesday, I'll accept entries up to Friday! See you there. -
