  1. I can only get steel. Read what I said. I would go for wood anyway, because it costs nothing and, surprisingly, wood is lighter than aluminium.

I'm not a weight weeny, I would just rather use a lighter, free substance than a heavy, expensive one. But that's just me.

But wood is alot easier to snap especially if you have your hands on the edge of the bars its going to put alot of strain on the point where the extenders change diameter.

I wouldnt be suprised if you could get the alu from ebay anyway or you could buy it cheap im sure.

  2. Dave at tarty had one, and he had no problems with it as far as i no, he used a disk and it was fine. Dont think he had a problem with the dropouts either. I think aslong as you use and set them up properly then they will be fine. I rode daves and it rode really sweet and it bunnyhoped real nice.

  3. Nah i dont think it would, looks abit unintresting to me and as though theres hardly any stand over compared with newer frames coming out at the moment. id be tempted to say it looks like the old levelboss

I have to agree, even id it had a amazing geo. So many of riders these days take the looks of the frame into consideration more than anything, and sometimes dont even look at the geo of it. Proberly why the gu sold so well and now the czar.

I think steve if you did go into making them again that you should aswell as making the goe sweet of course look into making it a interesting frame design as that seems to be one of the bigest factors these days. Proberly why deng sells so well as its all colourfull and cnced to look cool lol

  4. Made a new video, not really in to sexy editing or owt havnt got the patience to so its song and clips put together, For some reason i couldnt get the clip noise to play so just left it. Quality is shite due to the format the files come off the camera in. Im happy about the video though, would of liked alot more clips but merrr its r8. Hope you enjoy and please comment good or bad.

  5. Dont weld it, it will just make it weaker, i have seen a couple of these frames with this mark there and they dont break or snap.

Like Ian said, just leave it and ride it, if you weld it you deffinatly void ANY warranty you may have (obviously if the bike is younger than this one is)

iv had frames welded in the past and the problem you have is after welding it becomes weaker as the alloy is heated up and just turns into putty, a bit like bending a mech hanger, when you straighten it its weaker, then snaps.

    Wayne.

But if the frame is reheat treated then it will just be as strong as it was before hand.

  6. to be honest apart from the hubs and the 06 rims all the rest is ok. the brake i hear has a few issues but frames forks new rims (and old) cranks, stems, bars, headsets and bbs all seem sound

People say the bars are but they flex like f**k, the brakes where poorly design and there was no quality control in place, the tpas eat them selves on them and dont work properly, theres not really much to go wrong on with a fixed rear hub and fornt hubs, the freehubs all die super quick. And like said the bearings arent all that good in the parts. The freewheels die also on most people, theres the problem with the forged cranks where the threads rip out altho mine are fine.

  7. Shut up you dick. All I pointed out was that not all deng stuff is shit, as you seem to think. Granted Echo '06 rims and some other stuff are a load of wank in all fairness, if all deng stuff is made of cheese why does Rowan have a 3 year old echo frame?

Pritty sure his cracked didnt it and he got another?? well at least ino it cracked i remember seeing the pics.

Obviously you must have a full on deng bike seeing as your being protective. Apart from the frames and rims and few other things most of the stuff is shit, and was rushed into production and never obviously really tested. I dont think some parts have ever really had a great deal of thought put into them to like say the tensile headset has.

  8. Does it sit on the inside of the frame or the outside? Does Neil Tunniclife use one with a spring? looks like a pretty good tensioner, as you don't heav the chain. Same with the 74 Kings.

believe it sits on the inside of the frame on the axel and doesnt have a spring

  9. Edit:

Mate, what is the big everything deng is made of 'cheese' argument about? Last time I checked, 9 out of 10 people on this forum run deng parts. Whats wrong with them? Can you suggest a better brand? With as much variety?

Because apart from the frames and this years rims most stuff is shit. Its under tested and rushed into production, and as for vareity its all the same thing but cnc'ed alittle different.

  10. So there will be no chance of a replacment from rathmell.

Not completely true as a friend sent his old monty frame back to them and they got him a replacement, and his frame was like 2 year old i think and had 4 cracks.
