Bit of a bump.
I'm getting my lip done tomorrow, sort of bricking it. Anyone here had it done? And what's it like? Does it go like all inflamed then calm down and how long does that take? Does it get in the way when drinking/kissing/eating etc?
Piece of piss, honestly, shop should advise you to go in after 2 weeks and get the shorter bar, that's more than enough time for it to calm down a bit. Avoid smoking, drinking, oral sex for a good couple/few weeks. Kissing will irritate it but purely based on the contact issue.

99% of shops won't charge you for a consultation, unless they're "famous" and have a super booked calendar. I ain't come across a shop that charges for a consultation.Do places charge to sit down and chat about what can be done and review your ideas and do some kind of mock up ? And if so how much does that generally cost ? (I'm guessing they do charge for that kinda' thing ?) -

Does it hurt getting your tongue split atall and what effects did it have on stuff like eating/speaking etc within the first week or so?
Getting it done don't hurt, you feel it but it ain't sore, injections take care of that. It's f**king agony for the first couple days, and you can't really talk for about 4 days. Once your stitches are out it's fine, they do tug and pull and are really uncomfortable. Eating is pretty damn hard, I just had soup through a straw once my stitches were out.

I'd never have it done myself - the idea REALLY doesn't appeal to me - but these punches in the cartellige (sp?)...
Has anyone who's got them noticed any difference in hearing? The pinna is crazy important for collecting sound, directing more of it into the cannal via reflections, as I understand it.
If you're taking a part of it out, and putting something in the way of more of it, it's bound to make some sort of difference. Question is, can you NOTICE the difference?
Not really, strong wind whistling through is an annoying feature but I don't notice any difference.
Updates in robs land, two 18mm lobes, 5mm conchs, random 3.2mm lobe and nipples, chest dermals are gone.
Got my tongue split a couple months ago, not quite a piercing but this is probably the most applicable thread to mention it. Will put a pic up when I can be arsed.

Depends whee you go, you're looking around the same prices per hour, maybe a tad cheaper. It ain't strictly legal and shops don't exactly advertise it hugely.

Have you thought about maybe just getting your skin removed and some bolts and pistons and shit implanted, it might be cheaper!
One implant costs near enough the same as 3 hours tattooing. So not really...

Right, trying to get flights booked for May next year, basic plan is Glasgow to Vegas, then Vegas to New York, then NY back to Glasgow. Accommodation not needed as that's sorted already. Can I do some kind of whole package thing through a company or have I got to book all the flights separately (seems like far too much work for me to be arsed with).
