  1. You could tell him you can do thost skin peels yourself for like £6 :P The only reason derms do it is so that tards don't f**k and burn their face off - but anyone with half a brain can do a chemical skin peel to themselfs, just apply, leave on for correct time, neutralise. You can get the kits from whole-salers for next to nothing, derms charge a bomb for the service though - right rip off. Unless he's getting laser treatment or stuff, in which case you can't DIY it.

DIY ones are the progressive type usually too, which are less harsh ...

and no i've never done one, but i've read a bunch of threads about em on that forum i posted above, people say they're good - personally I wouldn't mess around with that kinda stuff, just let nature do it's thing, but if you're into that kinda thing then meh... worth a look?!

  2. Ive been told that its kind of a once its gone it gone for good kinda thing

In most cases I think it is, I couldn't say off hand, I've never used it - but I have read that some peoples comes back afterwords unless they use something like minocycline to keep it gone!

There are litrally hundreds of people here on Roaccutaine, who post their experience, and after-experience.

    Skin = Anoying >_<:rolleyes:

  3. Good results mate, Roaccutane is powerfull - the only thing you have to hope for is that once you finish the cycle and come off it your skin doesn't slowly flair up again, if it does start to come back try 'minocycline' which is like a far less powerfull version of Roaccutane (well, it's not, but it does the same thing), but you can use minocycline for 1+ years unline roaccutane, to keep it at bay 'till your out of your teens. (Y) Any skin speciallist can provide it, in 25mg, 50mg, or 100mg doses.

  4. You cannot say that you have increased the current to the battery by putting it on a higher current charger.

    I didn't say that :S

I'm aware of the whole V=IR crap. But basically what your saying is I can use like my mentally powerfull powerdrill charger to charge my mobile phone or power my laptop? Doesn't sounds like much of a good idea to me... it gets hot as f**k just charging it off my other laptops charger thats got like a slightly higher rating. Plus I'm pretty sure you can get Constant Current chargers.

Surely by your own expliantion you're just elaborating on what I said? Have a charger with a massive current output isn't a good idea, a 5v charger with 20A current output charging a 4v 0.5A device for example, the current is going to remain proportional to the voltage, so even if your only drawing 4.5v off it, your still drawing a hell of a lot of current?

Anyway the point I was making was using a lower voltage charger will just take longer... I can't actually remember all the stuff about current relating to voltage...

Doesn't bode too well for someone who just sat A level physics today, and has A level electronics tomorow does it >_<

  5. Another major factor is the amount of current. Some chargers output lots more than others and too much will damage the battery.

Yeah, the fact it's 4.5 V just means it takes longer to charge, nothing else.

It's the current of the charger you need to compare, if it's higher then it's not a good idea - if it's lower then just charging it once with it isn't going to do anything though lol.

I got like 1 charger that I just charge everything off :P and it'd never done any of my stuff any harm lol

EDIT: why the hell am I the Queen of the gays ? :P

  6. to put the shits up you further ... it used to be possible to rewrite the url that appears in the address bar of your browser so it's lying (ISAPI rewrite I think the module is called )- I imagine someone like danny would be able to tell us whether its still doable or not.

You've never been able to change the address in the address bar to something you don't own. You can use frames to make one site look like another site, but the target site must be the one with the frame, so you still have to own the URL in the address bar - making it no use for scammers.

You can change what it says in the status bar, bottom right, when you hover over a link - to say a different url to the one it's actually going to take you to.

  7. So I ask my manager what Contacts he wears, he said that he wears Daily Disposables since he wanted Laser Eye Surgery but his eyes weren't settled enough to have it yet BUT instead of taking the daily contacts out he just leaves them in, not for one day or two but for months! he said he'd been wearing his current pair for over 2 months sleeping in them and everything!?! They told him it wasn't possible but one day he left them in and again the next night and then just left them in for longer each time and he's been doing this for 2/3 years now..

Does anyone else do this? It sounds like the perfect solution to my problems if its possible for me to do it, I can wear lenses so hopefully dailys would be ok too. But basically his two week daily disposable contact lens trials last him over a year  Sounds pretty sweet to me..

Yeah I've been doing it for 3+ years now. Only take my lenses out like... about once every 20-30 days.

But unlike your boss I actually wear some propper ones...

They're called 'night & day', and they cost around £30 / month (maybe a bit more or less, I just pay direct debit so never pay much attention). They're designed just to be left in your eyes for upto 30 days straight, something to do with the material they are made out of, allows like 99% oxeygen to permiate through, and they stay 'wet' when you sleep so you dont wake up with your eye lids glued together haha

Anyway, the advantage isn't so much the fact you can leave them in and just forget about them (though thats great) it's more the fact they are amazingly comfortable. Compared to daily disposables they're amazing. I used to get sore eyes late at night or in smokey clubs, or when working on computer for long hours etc, but with these ones I never even notice i have them.

Personally I think your boss is either NUTS or bullshitting... because there is NO WAY your eyes could stand upto daily lenses for 48+ hours :S I remember once I ran out of lenses and tried to wear some of them for like 3 days running (not nights!) and one of the lenses actually just ripped into two when i blinked :S

Get yourself down to a Dolland & Aitchison, they perscribe them (Y)

    Edit: http://www.nightandday.com/

  8. So why it is people don't f**k eveything up, how has it stayed so infomative and formal.

Really it's just an expansion of the 'people are genrally good' idea of the internet.

A few moderators, and the general masses, and it works!

Same as any forum, or ebay... etc :)

  9. I think people are missing the point. Getting the link location is not the same as uploading to ImageShack. Hot linking isn't really allowed in the world of the internet, you should use your own host rather than raping someone else's bandwidth. So it's a useful tool if you understand what it's for...

hotlinking is over-rated, don't really see the problem with it now-a-days.

Maybe back in 1998 it was a problem, but the internet and peoples hosts can more than handle it now. I hotlink.

  10. Since Apple put in crappy batteries that need replacing after 18 months... and you have to pay something like £100 to have it replaced.

I got my ipod Xmas 2002 (the 2003 model the week it came out), and I've used it prettymuch solid for the last 4 years, and there is nothing wrong with my battery. It doesn't last as long as it did, but all batteries get a bit worse as they get older.

  11. its not for your ipod, its for f**king about with everyone elses.

But why would anyone ever pay for a big plug-in thing for their Ipod just so other people can anoy them when they are listening to music?

the whole idea sucks. :S no one in their right mind would produce that :P

  12. someone somewhere would of seen the comet by now.

100% untrue. Ask any astronomer what the chances are of us spotting a commet before it hits earth, and they are TINY. The whole, 'big fireball' in the sky thing is total rubbish. It's genrally said if a commet WERE to hit earth most people would get no notice at all. Commets are VERY hard to spot, they don't emit (or genrally reflect) light, and almost all the telescopes on earth are dedicated to looking into deep space, and amateur telescopes would never see a commet.

note: thats just a fact, i'm not actually saying a comet will hit us :P

  13. Roadtrip... big big roadtrip!

    London > (Japan*) > Berlin > Amsterdamn > Belgium > Paris > Basel > Switzerland > Milan > Rome > Greece!

    *air trip? :P

Also going to the Love Parade, 3 day 1.5 million person festival, Tiesto and Paul Van Dyke headline!

Thats taking up about 1.5 months, the other couple, no idea! (Other than gym, gym gym :D)

gonna be a gooooood summer ^_^

  14. Taken in sensible amounts it causes nobody else any harm so I have no problem with it...

Other than the hard drug trade funds everything from terrorist groups, to drug lords and sex traffic. The impacts of hard drugs I think are much worse economically. As far as the individual is concerned, I'm not too bothered, it's just how they're produced and moved around that's negative (in my opinion).

If you havent tried it your in no position to judge them

I thinks thats a very narrow minded view. Basically what your saying is that you can't form an opinion of anything without first doing it. I have the opinion that pedofiles are sick, do I have to try it to confirm my opinion? No. The effects, results, and outcomes are still the same - giving yourself the physical experience shouldn't make any difference. I don't have to sample heroin to form the opinion that heroin addicts are weak minded and were stupid to try it in the first place.

At the end of the day, socially acceptable is an impossible idea with drugs, because like you say, it depends what circles you move in - in the fashion industry cocane is pretty normal.

    Really, I don't have a problem with so called 'soft drug' use, I think using hard drugs is a bit silly - simply because you can throw away so much, for so little. I have to wonder why people get so passionate about canabis use and effects, at the end of the day, whatever side effects it has, just like when you pop the ringpull on a beer can you are making your own choice, risks known or unknown;

experience vs consequences. People will always favour to back one or the other.

  15. I like the ideas and plans. You've refered a few times to ajax and what not, with the uploaders etc, which sounds nice!

Personally I have little interest in backend code, but a huuuuuge interest in interactivity and how the user interfaces with sites. Beyond planning the core workings it'll be nice to see some real user friendly aproaches, and typefacing. I've spent the past 2-3 months studing typefacing in print and digital media etc - it's quite a cool topic.

Sounds like you have an uber clear idea of what your doing with the site anyway which is always good.

oh the only last point is it could be very cool to employ the rather more radical aproach of homepage displa;, logged in and logged out users getting a different homepage (since - logically their function is utterly different)... verymuch like www.flickr.com does brilliantly!

I'll finish off nicely, by saying ... "it looks very web 2.0" ;) hehe

PS: I really hope thats for coursework :P

  16. ...which would be slower, probs not the latest release, and half the time isn't even what it says it is.

When it takes about 12 min off the adobe site, and what you do there-after is upto you.
