  1. falls can kill your confidence as a nose dive from a 4.5 rock into another one did to mine especially when the back wheel hit my leg and something hit my head, now im not doin that again, becasue me and jamie didnt even like gapping it any way cos it was really sketchy and bumpy take offs.... ill try and get the video onto my comp. (Y)

  2. well done ben and matt, we do a lot of demos and i know how hard they are to impress the crowd and the crowd seem to be well settled there, you would really be fecked if your chain snapped when you were jumping over each other (Y) :- :D

  3. if i ever wanted to change id have to go for a long python, always thought of the change for years but dont want to incase i cant ride/get used to it as good as my stock, plus my riding places are long distances to a stock makes sense to ride there with 8 gears. (Y)

  4. just hunt for one which has had a little kiddie owner.

i think over 40's riders are the better ones but nothing wrong buying of a little kid JUST LOOK OUT FOR ONES BEEN USED ON EXPERT COURSE, AND ONES SAYING SCHOOL BOY USE ONLY. AS THEY could highly likly of been hamered. , now a days little kids just flog them and put it all on the clutch like me... :(" bet yeh i bought mine of a little girl who only rode the ty80 course and it was a clean bike, but very poorly maintained before i bought it it had close to 600 bar, spent on it. mines for sale at present for 1550 here is a piccy

  5. I couldn't fault my Sherco, it was an awesome machine. Mine was a 2002 or a 2003 model I think, cant really remember.

Have ridden a Montessa, and have to say, I fell in love with it. It was extremely good, and a lot better than my Sherco, but just felt that little bit heavier to ride than the Sherco. May have just been me but meh.

As everyone has said, dont get a Gasgas Pro, they are really are appauling.

I would go for either a Montessa or a Sherco as my 2 main choices.

yeh montessa's are a bit heavier, shercos just feel like a moutain bike to ride imo, and are very skinny and thin, where as montessa's are a bit wider and heavier, but better built.

  6. i was talking to john crinson about the sherco 2 strokes, and he had a gas gas pro at the 6 day the year before and with 80 miles a day for 6 days the sherco never budged, a lot of people have different oppions on them, but i think they are solid bikes from my experiecne, won loads of 6 days and the scott trial last year, but yeh montessa's you wont go far wrong with them, fantics are too old and theres very little parts for them, stay well clear.

  7. right we've had 2 gas gas's a beta, a sherco and just got a montessa to night, dont touch the new gas gas pro's as they fall to bits they usually ok aslong as they maintained properley, but daft stuff goes on them, montessa dont sell a new 2 stroke, as the 4rt replaced this, i would say stay away from a scorpa as they are dated, but the 2nd hand montessa 2 stroke ones will serve you well from hrc engine, but prepared to paid over the odds for them second hand as they very sought after becasue no one wants to sells them as they are that good, also betas are good bikes if you can live with kick start on the left hand side and leaky carbs, but very reliable apart from cdi units in wet condtions a lot die up here in trials, i ride a 200 sherco soon to be upgrading to a 250 or 290 sherco or 250 montessa, personnaly i love the shercos weight nothing, well built, look good, but only the rear shocker lets them down but you will be ok as youre just starting, but shercos i would say should be on top of your list,

250 shercos are quciker from the bottom end but once a 290 is screaming it will produce immense power, the only other thing about shercos is the tank, which was weak on old models but has been made thicker now, and the fact they only 5 speed which limits to 3 gears in sections but 3rd gear will haul you up any hill or step you will find. personally if youre after a new one wait till the 06's are out in august, as 05's will be cheaper then, and a lot of improvements will be made on 06's. best thing to do if its your first bike is to buy second hand one first to make sure you like it for 1500 ish.

  8. glad to see some people like using rear discs! i like mine, the only problem i sometimes have is the dry condtions sometimes glaze the pads up so i have to keep aplying mud to them to get them roughend up, but its very strange becasue my old mini never needed this, but this is very rarely this happens.

  9. no-one does "Doctor training" for the money

well imo its pointless going to univirsity if the money is the same as plumbing? and why do they do the traing in the first place if the they dont want the money??????

Bucky you fancy riding durham with the durham lads sometime? i live only 27 miles from newcastle and durham is about 15 miles from both and theres some great riders there and some great stuff?
