  1. Whys that? I thought they were pretty good?
  2. I should have mentioned above that i managed to get hold of the chain i was after from another site, and i also sorted out a different rim. Im yet to buy new bars though, as i only found out the ones i wanted were discontinued today *edit* http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...category_id=138 - Finished in gloss Black, Silver, Red, Blue, Green or Gold anodising with laser etched graphics (any colours not listed in the Stock Availability menu are discontinued and not available now). Its nice to know that Echo went for Green and Gold as their colors of choice, unless they have discontinued the bars completely and thats all Tarty have left.
  3. Zoo!, Echo. Same company arnt they? *edit* Theres also no Zoo! bars on Tartybikes whatsoever. Maybe they got discontinued?
  4. Hm... Just a few things. Only the black/black version of the KHE chain has been discontinued, so its not a big deal (even though the black one looked the best) Whats shit about Try-All rims? My one i recently replaced lasted about 3 years. Echo bars are shit now are they? Wish i never posted.
  5. Now, i dont buy much stuff for my bike, but over the past few months, ive gone to buy 3 different items from Tartys to find that they have all been discontinued. Number 1 was the KHE collapse chain in black. (Very suprised) Number 2 was a Rear Try-All (32 hole) rim in red. Number 3 was Echo low-rise bars in red. Don't get me wrong, this isnt a complaint at Tartys or anyone, im just wondering if anyone else has gone to buy something recently to find it has been discontinued.
  6. How long did that take? Thats another thing to take into account. The Rubber Queens are like £50 each pretty much. The only reason i got them was because i got mine trade price, but now that ive got them and used them, id buy them again. Would i buy them at retail price? Probably not.
  7. Ive got Rubber Queens (2.4s) and they are pretty big. They fit in my Adamant A2 but i had to tweak the wheel alignment. The wheel had to be trued up so it was perfectly central in the frame otherwise the treads rubbed on the frame. Pretty sure its because the sidewalls are actually taller than a normal tyre, which ends up pretty much like fitting a 26.5 inch wheel on your bike lol.
  8. I think some people are taking this a bit to far. Just put a block of wood ontop of it and whack it. It really is as simple as that.
  9. Seems unlikely to be the problem, but is the chain the correct pitch? It could still be the chain wrap. I have 18-16 and i use a Shimano Sora mech to keep my tension. I then put on an expensive second hand campagnolo mech and it was about half a cm (if that) lower, and the chain would just ride over the cog everytime i put hard pressure on the pedals.
  10. Ah... i see. In that case i would just go with the wood and hammer way, but its a bit more awkward.
  11. This is generally directed to someone at Tartybikes, because im sure noone on here find this annoying like i do, but here goes. On any product page on Tartybikes, you have the main image on the right, and then underneath you have the rest of the images. Like so; If you click on the main image, it opens up in a lightbox, which is all very nice, but you cant scroll through the rest of the images. However if you click on one of the other images underneath, you get to see that in a lightbox, but you CAN scroll through them by clicking the left and right sides of the image...
  12. I would reccomend using just a rubber mallet. No block of wood, and no hammer. If you use a rubber mallet its easier then having to hold a piece of wood there aswell as holding the frame AND hitting the wood near the middle of where you think the headtube is underneath. I work in a bike shop and ive fitted countless headsets with just a rubber mallet, and ive never had a problem. They usually go in in 1 or 2 hits.
  13. If the bolts are exposed, then use one of these... You can get such a tight grip on the head of a bolt with them. I use them all the time and they can undo pretty much anything the jaws can fit around
  14. We got a Schwalbe Technical Information brochue type thing through with an order a while back (work in a bike shop) and i just found a PDF of it on their website. Thought id post up the link to it, as i spent a good while reading through it and i found it very interesting. In particular it explains why a wide tyre actually rolls better than a narrow tyre (page 15), which at first doesnt seem right, but its true. Also; "Even in wet conditions, on a normal, smooth road, a slick tire actually provides better grip than a tire with a tread" http://www.schwalbe.co.uk/pdf/techinfo.pdf Interesting stuff!
  15. Its a Blu-ray drive. When i said high definition DVD drive, i meant, it plays high definition Discs, not HDDVD's. *edit* just re-read your edited post
  16. mmm, yeah i should have thought really... I do regret posting it now. It was a really stupid thing to do. Infact, i can't think of anything i don't regret posting on this forum
  17. ahhh fair enough! The finding a laptop thats cheaper + better comment still stands for anyone else though I was bored at 2:30 in the morning, and i just felt like showing it to some people who might be interested (which is less people than i thought. Most people just seem to try and pick holes in it, and question why i bought it)
  18. grr! 1 word; Suitcases Also, the amount of heat it generates wouldnt really go well with a full metal housing... Like i've already said. Someone find me one thats better, and cheaper?
  19. I thought the issue was; Its expensive, why isnt it metal all over?
  20. Yes, cheap shit plastic might crack under pressure, but your forgetting that there is actually a metal (magnesium alloy) chassis supporting the plastic to prevent if from flexing so much that it snaps or cracks. If plastic is so bad, why are almost all PC monitor trimmings made out of it? Why do Shimano make Bottom Brackets with a plastic cup? Why does my HD camcorder have a plastic housing? I suppose a lot of those Ashton frames with the plastic seats snap don't they? Why dont plastic bottles crack and snap? Why are Rear mech jocky wheels plastic? I could go on forever with examples of plastics that dont crack or snap easily, but i think ive made my point now.
  21. Care to find me a better one cheaper? I dont get the whole metal vs plastic thing being such a big deal. Metal dents, plastic doesnt. You expect a high spec gaming laptop to NOT be big, heavy or lumpy? I think your missing the point on why i got it Looking cheap is an opinion, which i disagree with. In the flesh, it looks epic!
  22. I still havnt got round to installing any other games apart from Left4Dead and C&C3, so here's some screenshots of them... Yes, but thats DDR3. I'm using DDR2. Like i said, the difference between the 800Mhz and the 667Mhz DDR2 ram is minimal. Like i also said before, what games can OS X play? I suppose your laptop is so much better?
