  1. A little help please from those in the know, my bike has a set of HS33 on the rear directly mounted to the frame (no adaptors). I got hands like a gorillas and still find the brake a bit soft so want to fit a brake booster to improve the feel - does anyone know if one that fits easily ? Thanks.
  2. How does the KMC kool work with gears ?
  3. If you still have the std RD on your Saracen 2.six - ditch it - its ok for beginners but there not enough tension for the bigger moves, if you still want gears change to a Sora short cage RD and shorten the chain by as much as you can - that should sort it.
  4. Neanderthal brain slowly kicks into action it all make sense now, thanks Simon.
  5. Got that Lawnmower man. I can understand (and agree with) all the reasons why people would be warned, but i dont think I have had any warnings - or actually done anything that might of justified a warning. Just puzzled why it appears on my identity in that form.
  6. Maybe this is one for the moderators - whats this box that appears at the bottom left hand side of my identity when i post ? (its says "WARN 0%" followed by some blue boxes) No one else has one, and i dont think I've had a warning about anything - have I ?
  7. I reckon its one of three things 1. Wrong adaptor bracket, or on upside down 2. Damaged frame/fork disc brake tabs - take off the bracket and examine - if you not used them before they might have paint on the mounting faces 3. Hub or frame/fork is wrong/damaged - swap the wheel and see if it improves
  8. Flex, you are right - I have a Saracen and its great for the money. I dont ride trials all the time (most of my time and money goes on MTB) so trials is my occasional hobby that I use in a vain attempt to improve my bike handling (still work to be done on that) - so I just cannot justify spending load of money on my trials bike. However after riding some of my mates more expensive bikes - mine handles better
  9. Hi Guys - looking to change to 24", but i am struggling to find tyres that are suitable - any suggestions ? Are the Maxxis Holy Rollers any good?
  10. Name sort of gives the game away - I am 36, and cr@p .
  11. Thanks to Krisboats and Boumsong - i might just do that. (by the way - I am not pining for mates, honestly )
  12. Heres just a though that ran through my head while reading the thread by chasthetrialsrider "what can i do" - There must be plenty of newbies to trials looking for others to ride with, either other newbies or more experienced riders who they can learn from. If the newbies are not validated yet they cannot post on the rides section either. So would a seperate "riding mates wanted" section, accessible to all be a good idea ?
  13. certainly not too old - i am 36 (but feel 16) enjoy my riding, even though i have no natural ability or talent.
  14. I use a small piece of scaffold tube cut to about 300m long, just the right diameter to slide over the steerer tube and tap the crown race in place.
  15. Depends how often you ride - twice a year at least - but its more important that it's joined properly, and that you replace it if damaged- its not usually wear that breaks a chain
  16. For me gloves every time - i hate that dirt and gravel in the hands feeling when i fall off (often)
  17. Maxxis are good (wide range of patterns to choose from) WTB Timberwolf are ok too epecially in the DNA 40 compound cheap tiogas are rubbish, but the good ones in sticky compound are ok if you can find them.
  18. choice number 1 - Hope all the way
