  1. I think these look great ! i've got a 2005/2006 team version for the last 8 months or so and its been great - but it really looks like they are one of the few big companies taking trials seriously. Time to upgrade i think..... Flea 4 for me please or should i go 24" ? ?
  2. Shimano sora for a budget, Sram short cage X9/X7 for just a little more. I like the sram better because they only pivot from one point and have higher spring tension - keeps things tight. 8 speed shimano road cassette, sram SX5 shift levers for the sram RD (if you use a sora RD use a Sram Attack shift lever or a shimano Alivio 8 speed)
  3. I got one, and I really like it. Newer ones like mine have a small BB rise and its fine on the back wheel. I think theres been a lot of improvements the last year or so - but theres still a lot of people on this forum judging them on the old stuff. New ones 100% recommended.
  4. I am sure you can buy the lever on its own, Magura Uk are based near me 01530 837195 - i dont think they sell direct but should be able to point you where to buy a lever from.
  5. So far most of the answers have been web based shops - can anyone recommend their local IBS with an interest in trials at all ? Are we too Niche for the usual stores to bother about?

  7. Ooops sorry - just looked at the picture. I'll go and beat myself with a birch twig.
  8. If you dont want to ebay (or you loose), shop... http://www.cyclesense.co.uk/products.php?p...m14b62s259p1261
  9. HS11 are different at the handlebar end - they have a resin (read plastic) housing - in most cases the lever is metal - but it can be resin as well i think. You get a little extra flex at the lever with the HS11 as the resin flexes- but its only a little. If they are fitted on a bike already, its ok - the function is still better than V brakes or crap discs - and you can upgrade quite easily with a new cylinder, and the better lever shape of the HS33. If you are buying them as parts though - its not much extra for the HS33, i'd stretch to those every time.
  10. Go for the Saracen - some great deals around on the 06 models, and it rides better than the T-rex. I am really heavy and still cannot break mine.
  11. As everything its a balance. The best methods for preventing pinch punctures will add weight, but it’s usually worth it. I reckon the best balanced solution is a tyre with moderately reinforced sidewalls (not some of the DH - they are really OTT) and an heavy/medium weight tube. Pressure makes a big difference; if you go too low then pinch punctures are inevitable – again it’s the right balance between grip and punctures. Talc the tyres and tube can help. Riding style as well – some people will always pinch puncture more than others because of the level of skill and level of aggression in the ride.
  12. You got a picture of what you mean, wright pads? If its what i think it is i may be able to help...
  13. High roller all the way. Dont get the cheap spec though - not all High rollers are the same !

  15. Sounds like you have a 14mm axle wheel - with a standard 10mm frame, i dont think i would recomend you drill out the drop outs - its likley to weaken the frame.
  16. Its quite an old brake, i used to have one on my MTB for a while and it was fine - i had no complaints apart from it being tricky to set up. might need a rotor size hop up for trials though.
  17. I am with trials_noob - you might find a stock is better at your height. the Cheap Saracens are great for the money - i got one - its great
  18. Heres a lever with a rubber insert like you described. Designed for comfort bikes but the concepts the same. Patented already i think. http://www.tektro.com/02products/04cl330.php
  19. You dont want those you need this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=13746 (depending on your mounts) and this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=756 stupid price though..
  20. Hi Boumsoung - yes i am - well near to anyway - i live now in Shepshed just up the road. Aha its actually called spraymount - I use this spray all the time at work - its not very sticky, kind of like a removable low tack glue, goes on very thin if you want.... http://www.artdiscount.co.uk/acatalog/3M_S...e_Adhesive.html If i get brave / bored / stupid and try the spray I'll post on here and let you know how i get on
  21. Thats a bit harsh Simon - I got a Saracen (not a mod though') and i love mine, even my mate agrees its better than his Onza On a budget that bike looks fine to start with, but Jack are you sure you want a mod ?
  22. Never fancied trying grinding my rims, or the mess of tar. But I am sitting here with a can of 3m "Spray fix" in my hand - it's a kind of adhesive used for temporary sticking down pictures and the like. Leaves a really sticky residue on whatever you spray it on. Look at bike rims - look at can of spay fix Hmmm... Anyone tried it ?
  23. Thanks Guys, advice apreciated, and part on order already
