  1. I think somone should set up a DC hub so every one can share all their video files and then every one wins. Yay, wouldnt be hard either. Sorry for bringing the post back up. I come here once every three months these days.
  2. He was talking to me. Yes i am out of england at the moment. Thanks for the help.
  3. What is with pimping your sister if you are from the UK?
  4. I completely agree. Getting to all the competitions in australia is abit of a financial strain for anyone. They are often 700km away which means accom etc is required. Over summer here in canberra we had little competions where we would mark out some sections with some chalk on some rocks and ride them like a comp. Personaly I would much prefer to see a BIU rider ripping it up on some rocks then a "uci" rider (if they can be called that simply because on the street they don't use their bashgaurd) ride some street. The whole UCI v BIU debate annoys me. Im not going to generalise and say all english riders are street rail gapping bike polishers, but it seems a much larger proportion are. I have also seen some of the best natural videos come out of there. One out from james hyland with one of those month titles. may2003 or somthing.
  5. Jang, you are the dumbest person on this forum since class team trials. I personaly have seen some sick vids out of the uk and have seen some sick videos out of the USA. However whoever asked for a natural video from USA is ignorant. Maybe it is the forum I vist most frequently over there (OT.net) however it is rare to see a video that is pure street (when I say street I mean urban riding as oppose to riding on some rocks) however on this forum there are a few riders who seem to ride some natural however most of you are 15 year old mummy buy me a bike, go ride some street type riders. I bet that around 30% of riders on this forum from the uk havnet ever touched a rock with their tyre, or even a surface other then concrete. Once I pinch flatted. Now all you 14 year old smart arses will say that you have ridden on grass etc etc, but I mean ride, like do a pedal up, up, slap, tap what ever you want to call it off grass/dirt/a sloped hill etc etc. Personaly I find most street landscapes pretty boring to ride however I look at them as a time to improve my "magnitude" of different skills. Personaly I think UK trials is more about having a colour coded bike then riding trials. Having hope disk on the front etc. US / Aussie Trials is about riding. You see many elite riders riding frames that are more xc then street. I think the reason this is is because you guys have rain all day every day outside, so what else is there to do? I suppose you could colour code your bike and discuss how "mint" it is on the forums.
  6. Different free-wheel systems in the comparison the free-wheel is probable, beside the chain, at most safety-relevant part at the Trialbike. He does inconspicuously his work and becomes mostly only apparent if he slips through or suddenly breaks apart. On this side different models are taken and compared under the magnifying glass. At present the following models are presented: 1. Free-wheel pinion ACS Claws (manufacturer Website) White Industries ENO (manufacturer Website) 2. Freilaufnaben DT Swiss Huegi (manufacturer Website) Chris King (manufacturer Website) 1. Free-wheel pinions most free-wheel pinions work with pawls, which reach into a Verzahunng. The component manufacturer SunRace develops at present a free-wheel pinion with klemmrollenkupplung, mentioned "Merrill". This is to come 2003 on the market. The advantage of klemmrollenkupplungen is the immediate grip, the free-wheel closes with each angle (with each kurbelstellung) without delay. Usually the free-wheel pinion is the first part, which makes at a new Bike schlapp. The fast wear can have different reasons. The conventional free-wheel pinions are not appropriate for the large torques, as they occur in the Trial. A BMX bicycle has e.g. a 40-Zaehne-Kettenblatt in front, a Trialbike has a 18-Zaehne-Freilaufritzel in front! That means more than the double load for the free-wheel. In addition the strong Pedalkicks comes with the Trialfahren. There is simultaneous few pawls in the interference. Bad quality of workmanship and accuracy. Material defect. ACS Claws free-wheel pinion with pawls of the ACS Claws free-wheel consists of these individual parts. Zuunterst is the inner ring with pawls, whereupon a set of balls, then the outer ring with teeth and Verzahunng, follows completely above the distance O-rings and the taking off covering with thread. The axial play is determined by the number of spacer rings. On the inside work four pawls, which are pressed by feathers/springs outward on the Verzahung of the outer ring. The ball tracks down have a bad surface (does not polish). The pawls reach into this Verzahung at the outer ring. The outer ring is running in ball bearings on the inner ring (picture above) and the taking off ring (picture down). The surface of the ball tracks is bad (does not polish). Also the ball track at the sealing ring has a bad surface. The Freilaufverzahung does not see from (bad surface, not deburred) the Verzahung is cleanly 18-teilig. There is however only 2 pawls at the same time in the interference, as is to be seen in the picture. Thus 36 positions per revolution result, in which the free-wheel engages. The advantage of the fact is that the two pawls, which are not in the interference "catch" the free-wheel more surely can, if the other two pawls slip through. The disadvantage is that each checkleft is doubly loaded. In rare cases it also occurs that only one pawl reaches into the Verzahung, the other pawl still stops straight on the tip of a tooth. In this case the decisive pawl and teeth are even four times loaded so strongly. The ACS Claws free-wheel pinion does not possess any seals, which likewise affects the refreshment duration. Water, sand and dirt arrive practically unhindered in the inside. White Industries ENO free-wheel pinion with pawls this free-wheel is immediately available! Prospective customers find here prices and source of supply. Here a compilation of the individual parts is a White Industries ENO of free-wheel pinion: Outer ring (pinion) with free-wheel teeth inside and industrial camps (behind teeth). Snap ring for the industrial camp (black). Inner ring (driving part) with pawls and feathers/springs. Ring (red) is screwed on a thread at the inner ring. The inner ring is very cleanly finished. The bearings for the pawls (fulcrums) are many more exactly worked than for instance at the ACS free-wheel pinion. The pawls fit perfectly into the camps, the play are very small. All 4 pawls reach at the same time into the Verzahung at the outer ring, that means half load in the Verleich to the ACS free-wheel pinion. The blue rubber seal on the rear side protects the mechanism against water and dirt. Pawl and feather/spring in precise fits. The 36-fache Verzahung is precisely finished and has a very good surface quality. In the comparison to the ACS free-wheel pinions are the tooth spacings besides more deeply. A warranty for longevity! The pawl fits optimally into the tooth spacings. The sealed industrial camp seals the inside before water and dirt and stabilizes the Frailauf nearly free from play for an even load of the 4 pawls. The White Industries ENO free-wheel pinion is first with this stable kind of the storage. 2. In addition, freilaufnaben most freilaufnaben work with pawls, it give hubs with pinch roll free-wheel (RB Design, Shimano LX silent Clutch, True Precision Stealth stroke). The third system is front toothing (Chris King ring drive, DT Swiss Huegi hubs) DT Swiss Huegi the inside one the Huegi hubs works two toothed washers with front toothing. A toothed washer is fixed in the free-wheel body fit in. The other toothed washer is axially mobile in the hub body stored (teeth at the disk extent) and (contrary to Chris King) only by the feather/spring on the other disk is pressed. In addition teeth is only 18-teilig (Chris King: 72-teilig) Chris King free-wheel system Chris King builds hubs with the patented ring drive free-wheel system. Beside different MTB hubs for 26"-Trial-Bikes there is also a BMX hub suitably for 20"-Trial-Bikes. Since the free-wheel is integrated in the hub, at the crank instead of the free-wheel pinion simply a fixed 18-Zahn-Ritzel is installed. On the free-wheel body with Helix teeth (picture right) the pinion is fastened. The heart are the two fronttoothed rings with 72 teeth, which engage. Owing to fine teeth the free-wheel closes with each kurbelstellung immediately. The ring left in the picture is firmly connected with the hub body. The other ring slides onto the Helix Verzahung of the free-wheel body and by a feather/spring on the left ring is pressed. The Helix teeth of the free-wheel body presses the ring right on the fixed ring. That is the crucial advantage in relation to similar systems e.g. the DT Swiss Huegi free-wheel, with which a ring runs only on a straight teeth and therefore on the other ring is not actively pressed. The ring drive free-wheel is the more reliable system.
