hmm its prob not a good idea cutting down the spokes mate. best off getting the correct length ones! go to www.dtswiss.com and use the spoke calculator (Y)

bugger me that's confusing, ill have to get some help with that,

p.s obviously it won't have my parts on the list, will it?

Or try this calculator.

It is fairly straight forward.

you need hub flange diameter (spoke hole diameter)

flange offset fron hub centre line

Rim diameter (ERD diameter from nipple hole to opposite nipple hole)

and rim offset from hub centre line.

and number of holes.

that will give you the spoke lengths for various cross patterns.
