20/19" Rear Wheel

Hey.

I currently have a mod frame with a 20 inch rear wheel.

To have the rear brake setup correctly it is setup so that it is at the highest point possible on the brake mount. (Brake is a pre '05 Magura HS33)

The brake could be adjusted to be a good half inch lower than it is at the minute.

So in theory a 19" rim would fit. Am I right?

Any comments / suggestions woulod be appreciated.

Cheers.

It does work, but not well. Pads will always be quite high up on the rim even when the wheel is all the way for forward in the dropouts. So you can't really tension the chain becuse moving the wheel back makes the sidewalls lower, which means that the pads would probably be rubbing on the tyre.

also if the magura is angled too high upwards, you may need to change the crossove length (to a longer one) to allow for the angleage. This would also cause wonky pad wear and could put too much unecessay (sp? feel retardish tonight) force on the magura mounts + the threads in the frame

Nice try though :P
