im not sure i totally agree with you muel (as i believe it to be a mixture of both), but if you make ross happy then so be it

I'm with Ben on this one, i think the rider has as much to do with it as the actual bite. Hence 203 BB7s seem to snap a considerable amount more than a mono trial or similar brake with less bite.

Using a BB7 on a 203mm rotor means that the caliper is spaced further from the hub, so you've got more leverage on the mount.

I do see your point though, if you're landing a gap or whatever and yank the brake on, with a mono trial it might slide a bit before it stops the wheel, when a BB7 with a huge rotor would stop it straight away and flex the frame.

how's the south james? liking the taste of northern weather? lol

cold down here mate , dont like it much , gonna try and get up north before trials kick off for a practice weekend i'll give you a shout if i manage to get up there , perhaps we can meet up.
