Hey,

Im not really that good with freewheels as im used to running a free hub,

I have a echo forged crank and want to put free wheel on it just got the cranks and the free wheel,

Im pretty sure it had a bash ring on the cranks before.

So just asking if i will need to put a bashring back on , or if it will be fine with out one (With out affecting my chain line)

also if i have to put a bash ring on is there like a replacement spacer as i dont really want a bash ring on there.

Any advise will be helpfull,

many thanks,

It can run without a bash, but you need something there for protection, plate or ring is your choice.

If you don't run a ring, and there's a spacer, use it.

That dident really help me :/

Will it affect my chainline and is there a spacer i could use?

(im running a bashplate btw) just dont want a bash ring

You need a spacer to go where the bash ring should normally go....Tarty's sell them, only a few squid I think.

Just ring em and ask...

Thank you thats all i wanted to know :)

Just ive seen people with them that dont run spacers and there chains seem to be ok

dont want to build the bike and have problems thats all.

Yeah the freewheel will rip the threads off if theres nothing there to stop it. >_<

Well, you'll probably be best running the spacer.

What's on the rear hub, a fixed screw-on thing?

A FIXED SCREW-ON THING

rather have advice from some one who atleast knows what a sprocket is

Ill get a spacer for it then (Y)

I know what one is.

The problem with that is, a sprocket comes in a screw on form, and a splined form.

So, does it have a sprocket?

Doesn't work does it? Of course it has a sprocket.

The length of your BB might affect it too, you know. I'd go ahead and presume it will work witha spacer or bashring though.
