hope pro evo2 problems

my hope pro evo 2 rear hub has become really stiff and hard to turn, i dont want to mess about with it as i dont know anything about hubs, could i fix it or is it broken?

Hope do a lifetime warranty
If you have a receipt just send it them and they'll fix it

If not there's definitely something built up in there, whether it's stuff from riding in muddy conditions or something internal chipping off.. Either way I'm almost certain taking it apart and cleaning it will solve this, Try get some help off someone if you're too nervous about destroying it, Or take pictures at each stage so you know how it all goes.. they're pretty simple mechanisms

probably the drive side seal if its not seated properly the hub is almost impossible to turn, if its not that its probably some thing inside like a snapped pawl or spring getting jammed hope's are really easy and simple to fix heres a video of how to strip it down http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdgUvv76H28,

by the way you dont need to completely strip the hub to its shell all you wanna do is pull the driver out giving you access to the pawls and springs inside so you can see what might be causing the binding

Main hub bearings mate. 6903 bearings from hope, betd or your local bearing suppler.

If the wheel doesn't turn.

New freehub bearings if the freehub doesn't turn.

6903 x1 and 6803 x 2 on newer EVO hubs and 6902 and 6802 x 2 on older pro 2 hubs,

Failing that the springs could have broken, or worst case a pawl may be snaped.

If the shell or

Drive shell, are cracked then hope will sort a warranty out.

Same if the cassette body cracks.

Warranty on moving parts is depending on condition. And use

I think your main bearings in the hub shell have dryed up and rusted causing the tightness.
