Looks like a nice bike mate. Unlucky I'll keep a look out like for anyone elses bike on here, doubt I'll see anything mind. Theres going to be a huge increase of specialist bikes being stolen now. Because they are getting more flashy and differnt its attracting attention. Espeically when theres red components on there as it is the most attractive colour for degenerates. Lol. A good, and bad tip at the same time is when ever you see a group of suspicious youths hanging around or coming towards you go over to your bag where you keep your SPANNERS and SCREWDRIVERS.

Remember slash don't stab. Stabing is bad it'll kill someone and never attack them unless they attack you first. Its sad to say this is the only defense against bastards like this.

And now i'm actually going to tell you not to use my methods, for my sake.

well, they were wearing typical rude boy/ghetto clothing, on had a hat on, red it was, couldnt see alot of bling, one had a bandala, if you live near the park im talking about (manor) you may have seen them, apperently, these fukkers steal any thing from kids lollie pops to bikes! so there not nice...and if i see the bastards again im gonna get the cops on their ass's, no one takes my pretty away and gets away with it...and my m8 mike doesnt even have a bike now. so be good if they were caught and some compensation was handed over...i hate to think what has become of ma bike, lol, call me sad but im worried about my ti glides and hot s tyres :)

It would be great if you could give us the full account of what you got back and how it came about.

I'm thinking that this is a very common type of theft. Local chavs steal your very distinctive bike, either ride it themselves around the locality, or sell it on to another local chav for £50 for them to ride around.

I guess they often change the components naively thinking it will disguise the bike a bit.

Cutting to the chase, once you've spotted your bike being ridden around, how quick and easy was it to get the bike back? What did you have to do and was it possible to recover components that were sold on or get some money back for them? Were the individuals prosecuted for theft?

I was thinking that our habit of taking photos of our bikes is really useful. If my bike was stolen, I think having that having a clear photo would be a huge help trying to prove that Chav X has stolen my bike. Also, maybe taking a note of the frame number (often stamped onto the underside of the BB) plus making a note of any other distinctive features on any of the components (chips/paint damage/unusual colours) would be an extra way of proving it just incase the thief claimed it was their frame.

We could get together a definative list of what to do in such circumstances based on all the experiences we've had, and so help others to get things sorted asap rather than have to work it all out for themselves.

yer any news on the bike?

My brother had a similar experience today where some kids tried to go off with his bike. luckily they didn't get it as he got away but he is only 13 and it seems harsh that older bigger kids are going around picking on smaller younger ones  .

Any my bike has the distinctive feature of having "if you are reading this you are a thieving c**t" written on the inner tube in the front wheel (Y) so thats an amusing way of proving to the police that the bike belongs to me. Or at least it would confuse the twock that nicked it lol

I think it would be amusing to see what would happen if on a huge ride,

One person went round a corner on his own and was waiting for everyone else to follow and two-three people tried to steal his bike and in the process 80+ riders turned the corner. (Y)

Joe
