munkee Posted October 15, 2005 Report Share Posted October 15, 2005 Ok this is a long shot. In a I-section beam, how do you calculate the shear stress in the flange. I know the formula and i can calculate the maximum and minimum for the web. I also know how the stress distribution looks on the web ( parabolic with max at neutral axis) and the flange ( triangular distribution i beleive? ).
