New Laptop Keyboard Configuration....

yup so i get a new laptop ...... windows xp, first time i turn it on i get all these questions ...... one being which keyboard settup do'u want? Already selected is "amercian english" so i hit ok. MISTAKE!

now my @ sign is shift and 2, and my " is shift and '!! and i dont have a pound sign no more!

i've looked for ever through control settings but i cant find anything about keyboard language / settup....

anyone know anything???? thankyou please...

I had that for a while, and it took me ages to find out how to change it. if i remember right, it was some little language symbol somewhere in the task bar i think. i found it in the end anyway, it wasnt where i expected it to be anyway. i had to google it to find out!

yay im sooo happy. I found it! Alway the last place you look......

(control panel --> region and language settings --> languages tab ---> input device language --> english (UK) )

If there is a language toolbar on the start bar thing, click that. If not, right click the bar, select toolbars, and then choose language bar. When that pops up, click it and you should get the options.

Orrrrr:

Control Panel > Regional and Language settings > Click the languages tab > details. Change it there.

This is all on WindowsXP by the way, it might be slightly different for 98 or something, but there will definitely be something in control panel for it (Y)
