i think its got a normal press fit headset. Your echo headest should be fine, remember headsets have to be hammered or pressed in with the correct tool, they dont just slide in. The hammer method works fine, just protect the headset with a block of wood

I could get the headset onto the frame it was the forks that didnt fit the headset

Cheers though

As far as I am aware the XTP has a normal headtube so a standard 1 1/8 headset should fit.

At times I do wounder how people can warrent having such nice bikes with such little knowledge about them *sigh*.

If all else fails buy another Koxx headset, or try-all whatever rip off company it was.

But as people have said:

1. Remove old forks and take off the old crown race.

2. Take out old headset from frame.

3. Get a hammer, a piece of wood and the echo headset you have.

4. Insert carefully but hitting the wood onto the headset into the frame, make sure it doesnt go wonkey.

5. Stick the forks through the headset.

6. Tighten to make sure its all dandy.

I am almost certain Koxx would not make forks, headset and frame that all had to be Koxx parts, so if that fails well, heh not my problem.
