  1. Can we try to make the graphics? Edit; ups i did not mean to press the post button,
  2. Hiya, thanks mate, yeah i don’t have to design the product to work, (although i would like to, by doing that i would be entering the engineering side, a thus would get no marks.) Once i know what people think of this, weather the cartridge is big enough, ect i can design the product graphically to accommodate that easpect in the sizing and scale of product, or find a solution. Like i said, the main market is the XC racing, and lazy and rich. i'll look into what you have posted mate thanks. That may be the best for you, but not for me or my project, its a GRAPHICS one, and by doing that it would not be very graphics'y*. AS i have said i don’t have to make it work, i just need to prototype the product, and ergonomically and aesthetically Super. Put it this way some one made a new phone/IPod last year that did not work nor function out of MDF with a acrylic screen with plastic buttons completely in my opinion ergonomically wrong, but they got an A for it, and good on em, as this is a graphics project most marks are on how you have applied the graphics with materials into product prototypes, but you still need to do the same product/market research which is what im doing. Thanks for the input, it will all go in my folder. I will all update you on my progress later today, in the mean time keep any ideas or thoughts coming. max
  3. Yeah a digital display would be a very good idea, thanks allot buddy. So you can set the specific psi to your best needs. This is just what im after, real rider’s opinions. lol, Kennard. A, i could of done but i probably wouldn’t be able to get away with it as its a graphics project, not engineering, maybe if i made the forks look really funky. B, theres no more mig welder in collage now , i would have to make steel ones and then braze them up and that would be too heavy for you lot. So kennard any input into my graphics or co2 inflation devise, I was thinking adding a 'wind' effect to the injection text. Many thanks max, ideas Appreciated
  4. Ok, point taken in your aspect, if you were a XC racer and lost about 60 seconds on a variable that you could change, you would have a measure like this in place to minimise the effect of pumping up you tires. maby i did not explane myself well, im sorry for that. I have put this questionnaire out elsewhere, on other cycling forums, before i did this on here it was clear to me that the niche market was XC racing mostly, and the rich and lazy. The ideal was to save wasteful time and energy pumping the tube up in race conditions. So that primarily is its market. But i thought i better ask the trials market too, just to get your opinion, it crossed my mind that it could also be applied considering peoples attitude to get things done now, take the easy option view when out and about, so i flagged it up on here. In the Project, I don’t have to mechanically make the product work, I have to construct a prototype model with regards to the mechanics and styling. This is a graphics products project, not engineering although i wish it was. .....Constructed company logo for product.... smaller res opinions??? Thanks for your input. (Remember input only) Keep more view’s coming.
  5. Hi people, I’m doing a new A-level project this year and i want it wrapped up as soon as. Basically i had thought of a few ideas to do, but this was best for me. I wish to design a new small compact Co2 pump with the possibility of it inflating a standard 26" tyre to a maximum pressure of 110psi twice, so that’s more if you run low pressures. To help me with my project i wish for you to help me with a quick poll, to help me progress to a product specification. I think most people don’t like flats when going for a ride, as it is unstructured and breaks up the activity you enjoy most off all which is riding, I am talking about mobile flats, the ones you have pump up with a hand pump. My take on it is, you don’t usually get more than one puncture at a time per ride, so one pump per ride, so would a smaller, faser pump be better. I would appreciate any input you have regarding bike pumps and your experience, or any ideas you have regarding my project. So what do you like / hate about pumping you tyres up with a hand pump? So just to recap i hope to make a small, light, compact co2 pump. The co2 cartridges i intend to use are 12g and will at lest inflate two 26" tires to 110psi. - So what do you like / hate about pumping you tyres up with a hand pump? Discuss? - Would a Co2 pump be better - I’m thinking that it should be no bigger than 150mm by 35mm? Opinions. I was thinking something allong the lines of this, link Please can people refrain from going off topic, or causing arguments, as this is my project. Thank you, an I hope to here from some of your input, or ideas. Many thanks, max
  6. Cool, no i ment it as a proportion, So if Friction levals were 100% and grip was only 70% there must me other factors envolved is all. That was all i was wandering dude. Im still pushing for a "WE SO NEED A TYRE REVIEW STICKY THREAD" And for tarty to try to blagg some of these Schwalbe Nobby nic's, Contientals, and Michelin tyres from the big names to test, as they are a big name online shop. Who knows maby get Schwable to make a new tyre for trials with the tartybikes team, And get some sort of deal going,,, Ideas?? max
  7. Yo, Ali C, have you tried the maxxis High Roller 2.1 Foldable tyre as it is only 1.025 lbs. maby worth a try? Any Shwables some are quite light?
  8. Yeah, mule they seam to charge over the moon for the Schwalbe tyres for some reason, just have a butchers on bike radar They have almost 500 good reviews of tyres. It would be cool if maybe the boys form tartybikes could test a few of them out for us riders, you never know these could be just as grippy, without the weight penalty of a conventional trials tyre. Im sure they could get some free samples from these big company’s, if the test proved successful they could be on a winner with weight weenies. Your connected mule, push it on them,,, lol Bike radar tyre reviews Other tyres to look at off the top of my head are, conti mountain kings, Maxxis High Roller (Folding 470g), And the Michelin XCR Dry² I knew this would happen, lol. This is my take on it.... Dose 100% friction, mean 100% grip though? I did not use the word friction as although there is some, its always complicates things like this, as trials movement is light and very brief at best generating lower amount of friction compared with the Modules of calculations which take speed of force of the moving objects together, and as our tyres tend not to move when hopping it seems less influential in a way. Adhesion is usually applied when talking about water bonding, but im sure the value of grip increases when surface area increases, that’s why F1 cars play about with tyre pressure so much, and that is to get the best set up with the heat produced, to make the tyre sit flat to get 100% Surface area in contact with the track. Enough of the geektales, Simple answer get people testing new tyres and to report back on how they perform on various objects, WE SO NEED A TYRE REVIEW STICKY THREAD...... Like on bike radar, or even a component sticky area with parts reviewed by, us the trials riders. Max, any one get me?
  9. Hi, The continental race king, is a XC racing tire. There are lots of light racing tires on the market, some break into the Sub 400g. The tread is small with minimal height to reduce the rolling resistance. Personally I would use it as a front for street but not natural. Every one said that the new Try-All Slick would be poo based just on its looks, after some testing its has been found to be more grippy than the other tyres on the market in the dry, as it applies a larger surface area of rubber to the surface that its gripping. Its a myth to think that Big tread means big grip, it only applies muddy situations, Fact. And i still wonder why people use Massive DH Mud tread for Street its a bit silly, as less tyre surface is gripping ect, ect. A slick would be much better for street its a science fact. It really depends what you’re using it for weather it be, Wet natural, Dry natural, Comp, or Street. There are going to be tyres that perform better for each place/area. My advise go get one and just try it, allot of tyre choice is personal, and some tyres are placebo. Bike radar review of the Race king Other very light racing tires to try. Furious Fred Schwalble Nobby nic Schwalbe Racing Ralph Maxxis Medusa ^^^Its a real mud tyre not for street at all. Yo they’ve changed the compound of most new tyres For 2008, what with black chilly compound, Also there are loads of Types of race king tyres, There’s 10 infact , its confusing i know but the Folding supersonic one is the one we are talking about. 10. Yo! Found this guys, whilst looking for some new XC stuff. Link "Presenting the limited-production Syntace Trials Frame. By using the same refined cold-forging technology and materials know-how we apply to our famous Syntace handlebars and stems, we are able to produce an extremely rigit, lightweight trials frame with unmatched durability. The trials world will never be the same." "Supertuned Geometry" Trials riding demands razor-sharp handling balance, which we build into our frame with carefully selected angles and geometry. Our trials frame possesses a one-piece feel that's obvious the moment you take your first bunny-hop. Our tight geometry gives optimal weight distribution for superior climbing traction, precise tracking and quick response - just what you need for clearing obstacles and cleaning sections you've never made before." "Detailed Engineering" "Detailed precision is what trials riding is all about, and that's how we build our trials frames. Syntace trials frames are build without the usual vent holes, demanding superior weld precision and affording greater rigidity for optimal power transmission and traction. We forge all our small parts, for superior strength compared with heavier CNC'd components, and treat our frames with a shot-peened, black Eloxal finish which is extremely durable and saves 200 g over conventional paint and powder coats. They're little things, but they add up to a serious advantage." "Tuneable Downtube" "The trials frame's downtube features an air valve and pressure gauge for the ultimate in ride-tuning. Adjusting air pressure changes impact feel and response, for that extra edge." Weight - 2490 inc, fork and uncut steerer tube. Wheel Base Short: 1050mm Long: 1065mm Head angle 70.5 Fork and Carbon booster Kg, 0.798 (uncut) 59 grams Just thought id give it a shout, there you go. Maximus!
  11. yeah, my thoughts too! nothing X factor'ish about it.
  12. White = 07/08 think of something new and be a trend setter for 09, not a sheep! Tiger, Zeebra, or jaguar print which all gradients in white up the frame. think about it.

    Koxx Xc

Koxx's new xc speed machine yumm i soo want one!!!
  14. Bump, Im sure we can get over 500. Just give it a few days,,,,,, go go go!!
  15. In theory you could use lower pressure with these wider rims, giving more grip with larger tyre surface area, without the risk of increased the tyre roll. We’ve all seen Benito’s tyre roll in comps, the rims are also for there comp riders. If it gave my riders an advantage i would make them.... just thinking why they are made wider, ect Maybee its time to pust the trials boundarys if they work to give more tyre grip, that would be worth it, from there you could then make larger tyres to fit, ect ect
  16. post topic in new members too, and otn
  17. Dude, there the koxx box of rims, if there the best of the best don’t expect them to be cheap just because the name suggests other wise, koxx price highly for good product and (poor ones too) yet people don’t complain, im sure onza can bust into the highest end of trials. Obviously allot of technical machining cost are reflected in the price, as well as Alu going up considerably. The rims are realy light, and sound strong, allot stronger than DOB, people have bought a dob rims just because they are light and smashed them in hours, why not by a strong one at a higher price, it will cost the same amount as a smashed dob and a new rim/existing rim and will last longer. See my point, dude?
  18. Hi joe, i dont like Dr drie's name image, looks way not cool....! 5 five mins on photoshop gets me, that just one style i know its a bit formal sorry. just thought id rather show and tell than bash, this way it may become more beneficial. **idea** What about more forum imput, ie got ideas dont just shout, post em up. max
  19. To joe, Its an improvement just looks a teeny bit scrappy, you’ve got to ask yourself the reason why you are building the new web page, well the answer is that you are re-launching the brand “Onza”, to make the brand bigger, better, user friendly and to make money to further invest in onza (last one most important in the economic situation). The old web page was to be frank useless. A web page should be a tool to make you more money. In a very competitive market image is everything and a web page represents your brand, if the page is technically weaker to other web pages people will form opinions. In a negative respect you could loose money if you don’t get this right, but gain money and a strengthen Onza as a brand if you get it right. Its worth having a look at this bike manufactures webpage i think one of the best out there, i don’t think you would get any forum bashing with a web page like this. You may of herd of them they are cube, they are breaking into the English market after being very successful in Europe, many bikes in there range have simply sold out in the uk, im sure partly due to the clarity of there web page, and there range of bikes. >>>> Note there paint jobs they very nice!! ie, hints for onza paint range!!! Cube bikes They got some very good features on there web page get some ideas, even use them You have the chance to produce the best trials brand out there, don’t waist the very golden opportunity. Must use the three C’s in internet marketing, Clean, Crisp, and Clear. I do hope you readover, and take the time to think over what i have said and reflect on a positive angle.. as o do wish onza well. Many thanks, wright back, whats your opinion??????? max

    One To Watch!

hi, Don’t really know how to describe this vid, but i just found it on youtube, its really refreshing, combines xc downhill and trials riding. One of the best vids that I have seen in a while, its not 100% trials but it shows and emphasises the best bits and aspects of riding in general, and why we all love bikes. Its well edited and i just thought it deserves a show, on here. Enjoy link ***** youtube
  21. Damm i thought i was the first to get in the local tech class room and terrorize the vinyl cutter and put my name on my bike, but mule cant be real your name so,,, i win! Nice bike btw Mule, if that’s what you wish to be called.
