  1. In the old days, when frames were slender, boosters reduced the deflections in the tubes when the brakes were applied - meaning less wasted energy and better braking. I have a Zoo Pitbull now and there is so much much more tubing, plating & welding, particularly in front of the brake clamps, that I wonder whether a booster is really adding anything. I am not currently running a booster and the feel of the brakes is ideal. Does anyone notice a sigificant difference with or without?
  2. Structural Engineer - designing buildings that you lot may be in one day.......be afraid, be very afraid!
  3. It is really well worth it for the money. There's a lot of big moves but maybe not as much flow as I would like to see. I'm just old skool - no wait a minute, I'm just old!
  4. Ryan Leech was in Glasgow a few months ago showing Manifesto & some segments from other films he has been in. This section from Kranked was shown & he said that he was very scared when he tried it. He didn't do it on his normal trials bike & reckoned it would have been easier if he had. At the end in the film he says something like "that was fun, I'm going to go & do it again". Someone in Glasgow asked if he did do it again and he said "nope!"
  5. That's definitely where they're from. Pretty shocking trying to rip off a genuinely nice guy who is trying to make a living from a minority sport. Do the right thing - if you like the Youtube vids, buy the DVD!
  6. Chilli Video has a pretty good selection, including "Tricks & Stunts" for £6.99. I have Evolve & Revolution on VHS but I have never seen them available on DVD.
  7. I started dabbling in trials about 6 years ago aged 32. I bought "Tricks & Stunts" & started off on a bog standard MTB. I've continued off & on over the years but I recently bought a trials specific frame & have started getting really into it again. I can't think of better exercise for *ahem* guys of our age! XC & downhill riders don't worry about age, so why should trials riders. Number one tip - shin guards, trust me! Good luck
