Might be a stupid question but I was wondering why hydraulic brakes use mineral oil instead of standard brake fluid (like Dot 4 or Dot 5). I can only think that brake fluid would corrode or damage some of the components on Maguras or whatever. Anyone know the answer? Tony

Look out for some road works. Theres usually lumps of tar if they've been resurfacing the road. Thats where I got mine from. Tony

Hello. I'm new to the Forum (and I'm 40 next week so one more old scrote added to the Forum list). Not been riding too long so still trying to get the basics sorted. I've been practicing on the patio behind the house. Fortunately the missus hasn't noticed the tyre marks all over it. Gonna `procure' some pallets to make myself some obstacles.
