Excellent. We were watching him ride at Hook woods a few weeks ago. Bet he gets through a whole load of shoes.

I have an old style Magura Raceline HS33 on the rear of my BT Raven4 with the old EVO mounts. I was wondering what booster I could fit. Are the new EVO2 boosters and mounts better than the old EVO mounts? Or is there something better?

Looks nice. Back rear wheel or green front and you're in business.

I'd say you need a different set of forks. The stresses on the stem will be a lot greater than if you had more steerer in them. Get another set and sell yours?

I think I need to listen to it a few more times before I make my mind up. It is a damn sight better than St Anger (with that horrible hollow drum sound that Ulrich seemed to like so much recently) but whether its better than, or as good as, Ride the Lightning or Master of Puppets...not sure yet.

'r2wtrials' ... my 3 riding mates are 42, 43 and 45!!! Point of order there mate - I'm 41 not 42!! Velocipede - you're never too old. Get out there, have fun and enjoy it. Find some people to ride with. Its much more fun that riding on your own. Click on the `county' link in your signature info and you'll find out who is in your area.

Ha ha!! Those photos actually make us look like we know what we're doing. Don't be fooled

I'm 41 and R2WTrials is a year older than me. I'm still a beginner really but really enjoy riding trials. You're only too old when you decide you are.

Nice to see another oldster on here. There are a few. What do you ride?

Evolve is a great film. I've been hoping that they'd release it on a DVD along with Revolution. That'd be classic.

Sounds like they were 3-phase then. Most domestic supplies are single phase although you can get a converter. Much easier to buy a single phase lathe in the first place though.

Nahh it's a Bsa....You beat me V14..... Jarrod

Or look at Warco:- http://www.warco.co.uk/shop.asp?catid=27&ProdId=281 This is the Mini Lathe. They do bigger stuff too. I've had no problems with my Warco lathe and it turns really well (compared to the pre-WW2 lathe I had before anyway).

Michael, I'd try:- http://www.trialscentral.com/ TC is a motorcycle trials site with a forum (look under the Community link). Someone on there will definitely answer your question. Cheers, Tony

Hello, I guess you could try Mitchells Cycles near the County Ground. Or Cycle Care in Purton. Never had a wheel built by either but both seem like old fashioned bike shops. Go and ask their advice. Tony

Welcome. Try to have a ride on a mod and a stock and see what suits you best. I bought a BT Raven off EBay quite cheaply. Best to bide your time. or wait until you're validated and check out the Sales page on this Forum. Anyway, nice to see another old(ish) member on the Forum. Have fun. Tony

Love that kickflip to riding the board on its edge. Amazing.

Hello, If you want a XC bike then a hardtail from Marin/Kona/Trek/GT or something similar would be what I'd look for (check out Chain Reaction/Wiggle/Evans/Leisure Lakes websites). They all have a big range and something should suit your budget. XC on the Saracen is possible but I'd think it'd be hard work. Most of the bigger makes will do a decent entry-level bike for 300-400 quid. With the money you've got left over - get looking on EBay for a trials bike. And if you've still got some money left then you can upgrade or buy a big lock Tony

Hello, I'm collecting bits to convert my BT Raven to a disk front end (BB7 after hearing how good they are on this Forum). I was wondering whether a wheelbuilder would have a problem with re-using the rim I have on the bike at the moment. Its a Sun Ditch Witch which looks like its had a grind or two. Or would I be better going for a new rim for the build? All advice welcomed. Tony

Well, if you have a look round some of the topics on the Forum you'll get more than a few suggestions. For my money an Onza seems like a good bet. Tony
