  1. i know exactly what you mean, i did the biggest gap of my life today. 5ft lola bench to bench it took me about twenty goes to get comfortable on the back wheel before i did the gap. i'm so happy!!!!
  2. i agree with this statement worked for me before, but i now prefer to take the piss out of them with there own language with statements such as '' if you come one step closer blee, i will blaps you up massive, you get me blee!!''(whilst looking really angry) will never fail, plus trials riding has made me pretty muscular so i usually slip in a flex of arm muscles let them know they ain't got a chance if they start something!! i've never had anyone get cocky to me!!!
  3. maggies, are definitely a good brake but they are such a pain in the ass. i have had three magura's and on all of them the little red adjuster on the front or on the blade of the newer magura's has broken on all of them within about a month everytime!! plus once you get water or greece/wd40 or something similar they don't hold at all, so much hassle.
  4. you shouldn't use the cassette and mech it will be very heavy and will flap around a lot scratching your frame, also it will probably not last very long before the teeth on the cassette wear away causing the chain to slip. which in the worst case scenario could cause you to have a very bad accident. the best thing to do if you have a standard 22tooth front sprocket, is to get the gusset single speed kit from tarty bikes it comes with a 16 and 18 tooth rear sprocket so you can swap them over to find whether you prefer a lower or higher gear ratio! http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=120
  5. don't ever quit because you're a girl i would love to add a girl rider to are little trials team. i am not well informed of the girl side of the trials scene but there are plenty of world champion dh/freeriders. like the lady who rides for commencial she is amazing. and the lady who rides for halfords dh team is amazing aswell. i could go on for a long time. but to keep short and sweet i will use a quote from the lady who rides for commencial 'DON'T EVER BE TO MATCHO, BECAUSE A GIRL CAN STILL KICK YOUR ASS!!!''
  6. NICE, weather looks good. but i wouldn't hold your breath, the weather men and women don't always get it right!!! but if they have see you at 11am no doubt!!.
  7. so skuzzbucket are you chris(metal)'s friend or do we have a fifth rider any way will be a great day as long as weather holds up, i've finally fixed my bike cant wait to ride a proper session. p.s how bad would the weather have to be to stop this session? out of interest!
  8. hahaha thanks guys yaa it was 2mm i dont know how that got passed me i used the spell checker and read it all through, my bad!!! thanks for the help
  9. it is an echo 03-04 not 100% sure but what has happened is my sprocket has worn away a 2m squared chunk of metal out of the bottom section of the rear end of my bike just behind were the sprocket is and i want to know whether if i keep riding it i should watch out for it to snap out from underneath me any day now? any advice would be good, i will try and attach a picture soon.
  10. it would be either danny butler or ben slinger they put on amazing show at this years london bike show and thanks ben for the onza t-shirt, proper legend!!! the man is a living legend, he may be world famous but he still has time to come down the london bike show, i doubt he reads this stuff but just incase thanks for the autograph.
  11. yes, would prefer sunday to less people to piss me off, plus get more runs in and generally things are easier. you will be pleased to know i'm going be riding my onza not my echo cos i hate the way my echo rides to be honest, i know loads of people will hate me for saying that but onza for life!!!!!
  12. st neots is near where my cousins live i would have to go to london then get a train to there it would take a minimum of 3 hours so i would have to go on a really good day during the holidays in about two weeks from now it would definitely be a major expedition so i will think about it and get back to you. And to chris ill see you two sundays from now hope the weather holds up!
  13. these guys have got it exactly right, nailing new tricks is the best feeling ever. and new parts are always making me want to ride i bout a new bike two weeks ago and i haven't felt this good in ages, i faking love to ride!!!!!
  14. i got into trials riding about a year ago when i went to the london bike show, and instantly fell in love, did i just say love?? but anyway about a week later i bought an onza t-rex of ebay nice speak echo rear wheel fsa power pro cranks. since then i have spent just over a grand on it and about two weeks ago i bought and 03-04 echo control of ebay aswell and love them both i ride everyday!!!
  15. ok guys, thanks for your help but now i need some advice on what bashguard and front sprocket to replace the originals with any parts you guys would recommend. you can probably guess from the top half of my thread that the cranks are the screw on type i don't no the proper name but they are not the standard mountain bike 4 or 5 bolt allen key cranks, i only put this so some guy doesn't have a go at me or something for not putting enough description thanks for your help
  16. i am running a standard dmr chain tensioner it is complete crap always loses tension do you know any better tensioners plus how do you get deralier to hold your chain, because everyone is running deraliers and i cant get mine to work?? its a 16 tooth middleburn the one which is sprocket and bashgaurd as one they are not separate, but in theory if you add the same amount of teeth to the front and back you should get a similar if not the same gear ratio these are the cranks etc. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=184
  17. i have had these cranks along with an echo isis external bottom bracket on my onza for about 4 months, i am running a twelve tooth sprocket on the back which for me is the perfect gear ratio(when it works)since i have had them on my bike i have snapped several different kmc chains many times over, and my bike shop has told me that the sprockets i am running are to small and if i were to put an extra two or 4 teeth on the front and back i would have the same gear but will eliminate the chain snapping problem IS THIS TRUE ANY HELP WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED.
  18. i am definitely up for riding with you guys, i will give you a call when i get some credit
  19. thanks for that but i'm 16 and don't have car so is there a train???, do you ride an onza t-rex the one in your picture?
  20. me and four off my mates come from fleet and would be well up for taking the train to reading to ride with you guys we are not amazing riders but have all the basic skills, been riding a year. and they say the best way to learn is to ride with people that are better than you?? BUT TO MAVIC WE DONT NEED A PLACE TO STAY DONT WORRY!!!
  21. no offence to any of you guys trying out new ideas and the like but have you ever heard of car brake fluid or magura brake fluid why don't you stop wasting your' time in the garage and get some riding done, come on guys????
  22. well basically anyone from fleet, woking, reading or basingstoke or anywhere near these places i would love to meet up and ride cos there is only three other trials riders in fleet and they are getting boring so need some new faces, anyone interested then make a reply and we can talk on msn or something
  23. i got into trials about a year ago when i bout an onza t-rex off of ebay and wasn't really into it to start with but its coming up to christmas now and i'm addicted i ride everyday, so thats my story?
  24. thanks to everyone for there help, it is much appreciated. i don't know whether any of you guys are interested but we have phoned and texted the guy with no reply so i believe he had bad intentions from the start, and seems unlikely that i will get any money back, but i have sent the front brake to my bike shop to be bleed and i can live with the scratches because of my crazy riding style its going to get smashed around anyway and is a very nice bike to ride so i'm pretty happy after all.
