  3. the real answer is what you are realy use to. Mags,disks and v-s all have ups and downs but if u think about it they all come out at the same level. Disks: Good, good power good modulation easy to set up no spongey feeling when pulling the brakes No Good, need to blead now and again not every bike comes with disk mounts exspensive to buy and maintain can bend disk in an accident Mags: Good,good power good modulation no spongey feeling when pulling the brakes fairly easy to set up No Good, can snag the hose and burst not that good in the wet (smooth rim) pretty exspencive V-Brakes: Good,cheep to buy easy to set up easy to maintain good stopping power No Good, spongy feeling when braking v- mounts not on much bikes anymore so realy their is not much af a diference with them, i ride bikes with Disks, mags and V-brakes and they all perform well as a street/trials bike.
  4. i just got an inspired 4play, it rides sweet, i feel 20inch bikes are to small to ride street with and 26inch bikes are to long and big to throw about. so the 24 is the way to go, it rides like a 26 depending on what stem length u ride but is short and easy to throw about, but to be honest it is realy down to what style of riding you do. i am a street type of person and i like a run up to some lines so the 24inch is a good choice for me. If you ride comps and stuff then a 20 or 26 might be better, you realy need to try one to see what u think, i rode my mates(Glasvagas) ET24inch and i fell in love with it plus i ride a DMR trailstar on 24s so i have always been a fan of 24inch. but everyone has their own style so it could or could not be the right bike for you.
  5. the mono-trials is a realy good brake but to be honest any Hydraulic disk would do, i ride a hayes hfx 9 xc brake and it rides sweet,
  6. freewheels tend to be slightly off, which makes it tight then loose, Bmx bike do the same thing, if it affects the riding of the bike then change it but donth think their is much to worrie about. hope u get it sorted
  7. aston Justice, nice , i ride mine with a try-all rim on a hope bulb, i feel its pretty strong and the brakes run fine aswell.
  8. i tryed tar and hairspray... it works but nothing beats a grinded rim, the grind lasts longet, it works in the wet and dry weather and it is not messy like tar. i use a soft pad on my grinded rim which wears the pads a bit quicker but the grined lasts longer unlike using a harder pad which wears the grined on the rim and the rim. hope it helps you out.
  9. what kind of bunnyhop u trying? the best way is to pull up on the bars, then point your toes to the ground and kinda pull your rear tyre up. it is kinda hard to explain but just practice and u will get it in time. i cant side hop up objects but if i was to ride head on at the same thing i could do it piss easy, so it is just something you can get but sometimes or you cant but practice is the only way. a dvd to get would be "the art of trials" by "Ryan Leeh", it gives u tips on everything realy, but if u want somthing wich is a bit old school but funny would be "tricks and stunts" by "Martin Ashton" and "Martyn Hawyes" i still look back at the dvds now and again for some riding ideas and tips. but rememeber have fun
  10. hey i use to work in halfrauds lol, they have always sold trials bits and bobs but it is all special orders. trials is not that big a sport so they wont stock the parts. you can special order DMR,MEGAMO,ONZA and other parts but lets face it would you buy anything from halfrauds i mean halfords? best sticking to your local bike shop or tarty bikes, plus u might get discount parts from your local bike shop if ur in all the time. any other questions about halfrauds just ask, i worked their for 4 years so i know the ins and outs. an apollo trials bike would be quite funny.
  11. the main key is to have fun, start off small and then go bigger. when i first started to ride trials, i just use to ride in my street practicing pedal gaps to curbs and riding along curbs for balance, then moved up on to things a wee bit biger like a bench, practice riding up it and side hopping off. just small things like that are fun. it also helps if u have a friend that is kinda at the same level of riding as you, you can progress together cause you compeat with each other and give each other hints and tips. and remember their is no proper way to ride an obstical, so find away u feel happy with and through time change it. it is always good to have your own style also check out www.trialsqueens.com have fun and enjoy

As i read all the replys and got to the last reply, i compleatly forgot what the first question was, but i liked the replys i must say, their were some very interesting ideas. but out of all my mates that ride 26" or 24" i am the only person who rides with gears for the reason if u want to pedal fast you can. if u ride a 20" ur pretty much stuffed. so yeh gears could be a good idea perhaps.
  13. frames with seats look good, all trials frames have no seats nowadays, it would be good to see a frame like a typhoon with a seat, it is good now and again to have a seat when riding some street.
