  3. it depends how harsh you grind the rim really a lighter grind would be more times and a harsher grind would be less times aniway if it was a medium grind then i would say about 10 times max after that i wouldn't trust the rim rick

  14. Hi As it says in the title i have just ordered my new king but i just have a few questions, I have used the search but can't find much on them so; 1) Where can i get them serviced (who is the cheapest or can i do it myself, is it recommended and where can i get it done. PS; i don't want to send it miles so places like bike shops in the rotheram area etc: OH ye and how often should i get it serviced.) 2)where can i get spares/replacements from. 3)what should i lube it with eg; WD40, GT85, TF2 or any other. 4)how long dose it take to fully bed in (baring in mind i ride just about every day 2 miles at least.) 5)will it throw my chain line out, if it dose how can i fix this?? PS; i run a onza t-comp frame and plazmatic fixed cog just so people know. 6) !!!BIGGIE!!! -- WARRANTY (what dose/doesn't it cover me against??) if anyone has a king or can give me any info please reply to this topic thanks in advance Rick
  15. hi i would say hydro because the break on a cable feels strange and you need a really expencive or good leaver to make it feel ok however on a hydro the brake feels ok without expencive leavers and plus you can get more variation with a hydro just a preferance rick
  16. because i hated the engagements on that freewheel it felt so slugish ....haha and the bearing cases collaped on the onza hub and neerly killed me rick
  17. well i have the new plaz cog on order and two new bearings on too because one has seised up. as for the spacer i have got a new one thanks everyone sos for making you wait scotty rick
  18. hi i know someone who grinded there rim a total of 23 times before it collapsed so i would say its well worth going for it and as for pads i would go with some koxx browns and a light smidging of tar for the win. you can get them from tartybikes.co.uk however if you read the pads section and it has recemandations for what grind you should have with the pads and even what weher it works well in. rick
  19. hummm... i would be careful of the t-comp i have one if you decide on 1 of thease please; keep a eye on the freewheel it somtimes comes looseget a different rear hub the bearing cases lasted me about 3 month get rid of the stackers below the stem they make the bike sooooo high up (you may need to cut down the forks)get some decent grips , pedals but this is not that importantohhh and the frame flexes every time you press the rear brake so get a cheap booster i just wanted to warn you about thease factors first before you decide but exept from thease the bike is brilliant and is so easy to tap, sidehop ohhhh and the wheels are really strong too Rick
  20. Ye bit supid i no but im on a budget and was waiting for money of my mum for a fixed cog and iv'e got i now and am ordering a cog tomorrow i think
  21. Hi I took my gu hub out the other night to clean it all went well but, i thought my spacer for the drive side was a little loose so i tryed to squash it together and it went a little egg shaped. I got it the best i could and it goes on and off but is a little stiff, Anyway i then put my back wheel in and set up the cams and tention but when i tighten the back wheel the cranks go really stiff. I normally set my tention to this level but it never goes that stiff. i don't know if a bearing has seized but i can order those, i just need to know if tarty or select or any other company can supply spacer. the spacer is the same in GU ,ZOO and ECHO freehubs. However i have a freewheel and a freehub at the moment but have money for a fixed cog could that be the problem. Thanks in advance for any help Rick PS: This is what the spacer looks like in case anyone dosen't know. Sorry for the bad picture its all i could get. :$
