All the cycle lanes in g-town are shit, i can't ride my pashley to work becouse it's to slow for the roads and the cycle paths are crap ! there ________________________________________________________ That wide and are infested with joggers and dog walkers, but there two laned so bikes go on one side and walkers on another side that wide.........when i ride my road bike to work i average 33mph (28 if i cut out the hill in front of the sports center ) and seeing as the speed limit on the roads i cycle is 30mph i don't see a problem with the using the roads. So Road Bikes Are Cool Then Old ones are cooler than new ones though ! But ALOT harder to ride lol My langsters prety nice, i'll take pics and post em.......I work in a bike shop, and specialized are our main brand so i get to ride the s works rubaix's and tarmacs to work and back....it's great fun ! we should all meet up and go for a ride somewhere ? ? ? ? ? Your quite right in saying "a bike is different from a car" but you ride a motorbike ALOT different to how you drive a car ?i know i do, different driving styles ? It's a question of awareness and seeing things from a different perspictive ? i had excty the same views before i rode the bike, it really changed how i felt about it. Jarrod

No it's not ! riding any more than 15 miles is prety hard ! it's no just "riding on a road" you've got to keep up kaidance and not blow out all your energy etc etc etc............ it's good fun ! And as for the speed thing ! i know what you mean ! i was a bit pissed off that i had to ride IN THE ROAD, but you can't really ride anywhere else, those road frame are SERIOUSLY stiff ! I know alot of people don't like road riders, call them gay and tell them they look like tits......but i went out the the guys from work on one of the test bikes we had in......and i had such a good time ! i felt better within 20 mins than i have in a long time about trials riding ? maby becouse it's something new to me but it really changed my opinion on road riders, i quite respect them now ! Its alot harder than it looks, naturally some of them are going to be nobs, but you get that with everything now-a-days ? Really i just wondered what you opinions are on road bikes/riders ?

Your brakes don't work always makes me laugh..... And when a drunk chav asks you to "lend em you wheels"..............YEAH SURE GO FOR IT ! I Got them brakes.....there called hydra or summit........always works well My bikes better than yours.....pointless comment Fancy a race.........after they've asked you why your cranks so small ! ^^^^^Thats exactly how i spoke to him, for the first 3 sentences by then i was bit pissed off lol....... So "Trials_punk182" are you from the ford of g ? It was quite obviously a case of mistaken identity but i'll make a complaint for the chain and the HUGE ding in my top tube and the unnecessary force, and next time i get told to move i'll just go cos' if there asking you to move there prides not going to let you stay there !!!!!!! yeah prety much..... i kinda already knew that it's not best to argue with the law but it was heat of the moment stuff. it just annoyed me that there were 9 officers telling 4 people to leave a park when there were 30 people getting drunk and stoned at the river ? Yeah, i don't really want to make a name for myself by aruguing with cops but i think that if someone recons they have grounds to arrest me and then caution me i should know what the reasons for them wanting to bring me in before i leave my bike in the hands of a friend of police officer, i wasn't bothered about having to spend 2 hours sat in a police station getting bollocked i was worried about the condition my bike would come back in. thankfully my sister came and got my bike for me. I was genuinly doing nothing wrong and it's all down to the type of person you are wether you believe/agree with me. I may well have argued (for want of a better word) with the police man but it wasn't necissary, if he had of approched us in a less aggressive way i wouldn't have felt threatened and been a bit funny with him. i don't think that it's right to be nicked for an offence that you wern't doing, even if they think you might commit an offence at a later date ? it proves to me in my eyes that the coppers were bored becouse they could have pulled me to one side (as they do in cop action films lol) and said i was being out of order and cautioned me on the spot, wich they can do. now i'm not to fond of them, where as if they had have treated me like an adult and shown a bit of understanding i would have appreciated it and probably thaught better of them and told my friends to button it and moved on, and i'm quite certain my friends would do the same thing becouse there all quite inteligent. I'm just a bit pissed with the law and the general purpose of authority and being told i'm wrong even if i'm right by someone becouse they can....... Jarrod

You all have very good points, fair enough.......i SHOULD have gone about it in a better way, when i say "in my best english voice" i dont mean slow and patronising, i mean a very reasonable tone pronouncing my words as they are ment to be spoken, as in; I don't see why i should leave ? and WHAT THE FAK M8 ? I AIN GAIN NAAAA WHERE.......... But when you see someone riding down the road on your bike you don't say to yourself, "i better now beat his face into a bloody pulp....he's not on my property stealing it" do you ? i've never had any trouble with the law before, and have never been reported or even asked to move on before........ If there is a next time then i'll try and be reasonable for more than 3 sentences. but at the end of the day, if there going to nick you they'll find a way ! EDIT> All the copper had to say was "i'm asking you to move becouse some people find you threatening" or even if he said straight up "i'm askin you to move becouse i think you'll probably get drunk/stoned later on and make tits of yourselves later on." I'm a 16 year old lad, regardless of my history the policeman with all of his training and experience he should also have realised that he wasn't communicating in the most productive way ? and that if he wanted to make an impression on us (and others) then he should relate to what there needs are. as in, we need to meet up every now and then to catch up and have a life rather than; work, msn to mates;work,msn to mates;work...............I'm not trying to twist it round to them becouse there THE LAW, but it's a bit annoying to know that watever my angle was he was going to nick one of us becouse he wanted a confrontation..... Aparently i was nicked for "general publc disturbance" wich covers anything from music players to a person walking past feeling threatened by 4 kids sitting on a bench talking and listening to music......Jack Johnson might i add !!!! Jarrod

They called my sister and she came to collect it while they told me off........ I know the laws the law but it does my nut in that becouse most people see trials riders as a nuisence i got the flak for it.......if i'm going to ride street i ride at night down at the river where theres never any people.....I'm pretty considerate of other peoples right to walk around without having some nob on a bike jumping up and down on the feet.....the simple way to put it is i'm not a gobby little chav who just wants to do his own thing. if i get told to do something i'll do it no matter who asks me, aslong as tey have a justified reason for telling me to do it, regardless of there authority. As far as i can see i was not doing anything wrong but was got at becouse of the 1 or 2 cuntfaces who ride like dickheads in the middle of the day in the town center........
