Ok well if it isn't in the trueing it must be the lacing did you use the guide, or was it no use to you? What did you do 2 over one under or w/e can't remember the right way round (long time since building), Did you find the right hole on the other side of the hub? The 1st one is crucial Tom (like we said get some pics tonight or tomorrow and we will tell you the problem)

If you can get pics it would help loads but it seems to me you're doing well and you need to true your wheel, you need a trueing key. Whack it in you forks use them as a guidline. Basiacally i go round and get all the nipples tightish see how that is about 3 full turns and then you need to start gettin it true, rule of thumb either half or quarter turns what youd o to one side do the opposite to the other.
