  1. Brilliant, thanks That's exactly what i was hoping for, reasoning and all! I do know what you mean about the bb rise or drop, and about level i think would be good for me, i think the frames with the +60 or whatever would be a little odd for me. It does sound like the geo is meant for a longer fork, so that is what i'll look for. I'm currently riding my old xc bike which is just too long and unwieldy for trials, so anything will be an improvement i think! Thanks, Billy for the stem advice too, i was wondering what would suit it, so it's good to have heard it from someone who has one. Thanks very much If anyone has anything else to add, I'm all ears! Cheers
  2. At the moment, neither, but it would be anewer one if and when i get the frame. I have been looking at the Woodstock to, but it seems a little tall in the seat tube, wheras the TA26 is abit shorter.
  3. Cool, thanks, will have a look at those two. I'm guessing they'll be much lighter than the Base forks. And they look better methinks. Cheers
  4. I'm looking to get a TA26, and was wondering which forks would go best? Can anyone who has one, or indeed had one recommend some? I'm after a fork that has preferabley 4 bolt maggie mounts, with or without a disc mount (might try disc in the future) I was thinking about the Echo Urban, but was not sure if they would be too short and ruin the geo?? I would rather steer clear of the onza ones, they seem to be pretty heavy. The bike will be used for urban almost exclusively. Thanks for the advice.
  5. Thanks for the replies peeps. I thought you could buy a 6 speed cassette, but I guess that would be too wide then. I have an old XT mech from a few years back, I'm sure that would do the job, then just get a 9 speed cassette and use whichever suits my chainring. Ok, think i got it! Thanks guys!
  6. Can anyone help? I wanna go riding! Cheers
  7. I lolled. I agree, i don't see any reason to lace it radially, yeah it looks cool, but walking home with a tacoed front wheel doesn't!
  8. Hi, i have a Pro2 hub (thanks TheChai!) and was wondering which cassette i could put on it? I have read somewhere that it's only 6 speed, but can't seem to find one that's not a road set? Wouls that work? Would this fit? Echo 7 Speed If not, what would?! Thanks. Oh, and i don't want to run single speed yet, as this will be my only bike until i get a new F&F to make a proper trials specific bike. Cheers guys.

  11. Dan mac in my opinion. He has the most sick front wheel control ever. EVER. Love.
  12. And damn, those little bits of metal are meant to hold my pedal kicking power and not break! lol, no wonder i broke it! Thanks for the pictures, it's always nice to know what's going on inside [arts of the bike, and the freehub is about the only one i don't know about. Hmm, lemme think about that one, thanks Will get it to the bike shop this time i think, just for ease, and then when I wanna start playing about with single speed and stuff i'll get one then. If you still have it I'll have it off you!
  13. I like my teeth But £100 is a lot of wedge. But what value can you put on teeth?! Will get in the classifieds when i get paid on Fri to try and get a proper hub. I'm just playing around on little stuff atm, but when i start to get even a little bit bigger i will invest in one to save my pearly whites. D Thanks for all the replies guys. I live in Aintree, and work in the centre, so could take it in to work one day to get it done at whcihever shop is nearest.. Don't you need a chainwhip and special tool thing to take off the locknut? I haven't got one if you do, so the shop option will have to do. I'll steer clear of Halfords to fit it, i've never really had a very good opinion of their bike section to be honest, and i like to give little shops the custom, and they care about it more too. (hopefully) http://www.trialfutur.net/?osCsid=a53bd2cd...bf55315d9bbbed8 is in Merseyside, but the other side of the river i thnk, there should be one closer. But i will definately bear it in mind for future purchases, thanks Danny.
  14. Right ok, so it looks like the freehub then. Guess that's not the end of the world. I have looked a the Hope Pro2 Trials hub, it's a work of art! 48 engagements, as opposed to 16 for a shimano hub or something, awesome. Gutted that it's so expensive though, i don't have the money to get it. Looks like it'll have to be a replacement freehub for the time being, my budget is SO small! Ok, so can anyone recommend a decent bikeshop in Liverpool? Thanks everyone for you input, much appreciated
  15. Thanks for the welcome PaRtZ I have done the 'chain pinch' (What i think it should be called for future reference! ) and i can make the top and bottom of the chain meet behind the chainstay if i give it a bit of a push. Is that bad? I thought it was normal when running a mech? Thing is though if i lift the back wheel and get it spinning, in the same place every rotation the cassette seems to catch, and try and move with the wheel which is what made me think it was the pawls or something? I have also checked the mech by releasing the gear cable and giving it a good stretch and poke! All of the springs seem to be fine, pulling the right way and all. It's an pld xt mech btw. Doubt it makes a difference, they were pretty good in their day! Thanks for the help guys. Thanks too I think that's what it might be, i've not ridden for ages, so i'm not being very gentle with it! lol Relearning pedal kicks and the like. Pro2, will have to look at those. I'm awaiting PaRtZ's daignosis too, hopefully we can get it sorted so i can get back on it! Cheers
  16. Hi, this is my first post in the full members forum, just got validated. So hi everyone! My problem is as follows: When I stop pedalling, the chain loses tension at the top, and gets sucked between the tyre and the frame, just behind the BB. Is this a broken freehub? I seem to remember it happening a few years ago (I've not ridden for AGES), but could not remember if this was the culprit or not. I'm running a 7 speed cassette on a very old STXRC hub (prob pre 2000!) if that helps?! How much am i looking at to repair? Thanks very much in advance for any replies
  17. LOL Tomm, spelling *** right?! Hehe. I'll pass thanks Jordan, i want the newer version, and I'm in the UK too. My mind has been made up, the MAD has been removed from the equation. Thanks to everyone who posted advice, very much appreciated. I will now see if i can save for the Spec 2 T-Rex! lol Cheers.
  18. That's a bit of a trek on a bike with no seat! lol I'm from near Guildford, Surrey. I'm probably going to get an Onza Spec 1, so when I do, I'm there! Just got to get the cash sorted Looking forward to meeting new riding buddies! Cheers
  19. LOL. Buff i would need to be! i'll haev to ride it and see how heavy it really is, but i'm leaning that way. The frame's meant to be awesome And Jordan, have you got a link to photos of your bike? Why are you getting rid of it? Cheers
  20. lol, that looks like cool fun! Gief plx
  21. yeah, as soon as i get my bike i'm there
  22. Cool, thanks, half way! Does anyone know the weight of the Phase 1.2?! Thanks Erring towards Onza at the moment, unless someone can convice me otherwise
  23. hmmm, so the T-Rex comes out better? It does look damn solid, and looks better than the MAD too. I ride very lightly, so strength is not too much of an issue, I'm sure both bikes would suffice. So weight is more of a concern i reckon. Does anyone know the weights of the bikes off the shelf? I have looked for ages on the net, and can't find them anywhere! Cheers
  24. Hi, I was just hoping to get opinions on these two lowbie bikes. I'm looking to buy one, and can't choose. Leaning towards the MAD, as i hear the Onzas are very heavy? I'm an intermediate trials rider, used to ride quite a bit in Bristol, but have not ridden for a few years now, and am looking for a cheapy bike to get me back into it. I am open to suggestion of anything else I've missed that's out there, i have £500, want 26", and not single speed. oh, and HAVE to have HS33s! Any advice and general opinions would be great, thanks guys!
