  1. not quite, got wheels on, but can't get hold of a set of 4 bolt maggie mounts and bolts for the back dammit! lol got a tensioner, and bars and stem coming, and got some burns for cranks, so got most of the bits, should be good to go by the weekend as long as they all turn up in the post.... It's a little longer than the Kona, and the bb is about a foot higher! lol (Think it's about +20-25 really) it's so light compared to the Kona too. Should be ace to ride, can't wait
  2. Might join you guys if that's ok? Went on the Southport ride last week, was ace, not been in Liverpool yet. Just got my new bike, gone from a 1997 Kona to a Toxsin One, so I'll be abit of a retard on it i reckon! But who cares! lol See you all then Oh, isn't there something hapenning this weekend? the 27th? I thought i read it somewhere.. lemme see.... edit: got it, anyone going?ride on the 27th
  3. Actually Lolled in the office earlier to this. Genius.
  4. Spot on, I couldn't get either the 32 or burton boots, too wide, went for salomon boots, much better fit, bit narrower in the toe, and loads better ankle hold. But, as many have said, try on EVERYTHING! lol. Everyone's feet are totally different, you feel like you're being a pain doing it, but the guys expect it, and to get the wrong boots is the worst thing. Good luck.
  5. Shame, you guys missed out on a good ride , and a ride on my old skool steed! Cheers everyone who went, and see you next time those who didn't.
  6. Think I'm prob going to come along My number's 07917167173 Should be there before 11 i hope, I'll be the one ont he dark blue Kona Laters
  7. So i didn't get my new F&F cos of the gay post strike thing. Do I come on my (10 year) old rig, or wait till next time when i have a bike that is worthy of riding! (not that I'm good btw lol) Dunno if i can be bothered, i was so stoked to be getting a new frame etc, and the old one is an xc frame that i've been using for trials. I just can't decide if i fancy meeting people who have bikes they can do stuff on!! LOL Hmmmm.
  8. Blue Tomato is good Also, I worked in Ellis Brigham for a year and a half selling skis and associated gubbins, I was really good friends with the guys who sold the boards etc, and i dabble a bit myself. I would happily recommend them to anyone, they really know their stuff. Can't go far wrong, it's a massive chain with a huge reputation to uphold, so (in my experience) the service is top notch.
  9. No worries, hope it works. Have a look in the classifieds section, or do a wanted topic for fourbolts if Lawnmower man does not wanna swap. Should get them pretty cheap. Sorted. Enjoy!
  10. First things first, get some 4 bolt mounts. I reckon that should sort the problem, because having a narrower rim should not make you have to change the angle of the cylinders, merely how far in you have to put the cylinders in the mounts. If it doesn't work then get a new rim. But the four bolt mounts should move the maggies down the seatstays, and make them meet the rim square imo Good luck.
  11. Ok, cool, so leave the polyfilla! lol I'[ll post up pictures when i get the frame, so you guys can see if the dents are too large to be done with the high build primer. Thanks again!
  12. Great, thanks for the info everyone, Shoudl come out with a pretty sorted frame eventually then! I'll remember to be careful with the threads, i don't wanna ruin the frame. Halfords here I come! lol
  13. Cool, cheers, should be able to borrow my little ladies car with any luck. Will try and put the new F&F together for the weekend then! And sorry to Dave6895 for hijacking your topic. :$
  14. Hi, I'm Duggy, I've not ridden with you guys before, but I'm just getting my bike sorted, might have it done by then, if so, count me in too! (if that's ok) Still need a few bits, but should be able to bodge a mix of good and crap parts together into a ridable steed! Is Chapel Street in Southport or Liverpool centre btw? Cheers
  15. Great, thanks, i may well need a wheel built if this rim gives up. Might need a bb tool for my new frame i guess, not sure yet... Will let you know When's the next ride? 26th i seem to remember reading? I'll try to come along and embarass myself! Hehe
  16. Lol. And Scousertrials, I will, i have just been trying to sort my bike, and getting back to any kind of standard in private! I ahve not riden for 3-4 years, so just wanted a few rides to get a bit fitter, and get some kind of skills back! (I was having trouble doing more than like 5 back wheel hops! And if i did, i would fall down out of breath! lol) I've just got a Toxsin F&F (coming in the post) to replace my 11 year old Kona i was using, and need a new stem and bars, and maybe rear rim, and i'll totally be out riding with you guys! Woot woot!
  17. I'm from the south, but live in the North, so on behalf of all, welcome!
  18. Thanks Tom High build primer? Is that just really thick primer which, as the name suggests, builds up to fill holes?! Would i get such a thing in B&Q? Or is it a car specific paint, so Halfords maybe? Cheers
  19. Great, cheers guys, will have to give it a go when i get the frame, I'll get some before and after photos and post them up The dents are not very big, so will try the car filler, Cheers!
  20. Thanks Pretty cool, I can;t believe i didn't look there. Doh! I did see somehwere a guy saying do coats every 20 mins, is that wrong? Or a different type of paint? Also, do you know what to fill dents with? I want the frame to look nice and smooth when I'm done Cheers!
  21. Hi, I have recently aquired a new frame and forks, (Toxsin one) and have yet to recieve them. When I do though, i would like to spray the frame gloss white, and the forks mat black, cos i think it would look shit hot! The frame is currantly stripped. There are a couple of little dents in the downtube, and i want to fill them before i spray the frame if possible? Any advice would be very much appreciated, things such as which paint to use, how to fill the dents, and whether to use laquer etc etc. Also where i can pick up some Toxsin decals for the frame.... Cheers guys!
  22. Everything the guy mentioned in the 'full' spec can be read off the parts on the bike. Nothing that is not labelled is mentioned, chain, bb, headset I saw this when it first went on, but thought it looked too dodgy to be worth it! I've never seen a Coust full build, but then i don't claim to have seen everything!
  23. Thanks for all the opinions! It's great to have first hand reviews of what works. Are the smart guy the same as the wise guy forks i found on the component weigth wiki? And what about the fly guy? they're a little lighter. Will have to check out the length of them. I've been thinking about the fatty R forks too, has anyone used these with that frame? Thanks Jez, i would be keen to know how they are. Cheers EDIT: I just checked out the Kot forks, they look ok. they're quite light, and come in at 415mm, wheras the Onza ones are 405mm. The kot might be pretty good for the money... Lemme know how they feel. Cheers
