FAR BETTER contraction of the lats. The pull ups will involve biceps and secondary muscles way too much. There's a good reason why pro's and all the people I know use lat pulldown over pull ups.

You should use both machines and free weights. There are some machines like the lat pulldown machine and cables, smith machine which are amazing for hitting certain areas and you cant get free weights to do what a lat pulldown machine does to your back, so its not really a thing of using free weights or machines. Free weights for majority of exercises but never rule machines out all together.

Ofcourse you need to take creatine daily, you go through a loading cycle 20mg per day for 3 - 5 days. After that you cycle it for 8 weeks, taking 5 - 10 mg ( 5mg on non-workout days 10mg on hard training days right after your workout with the protein ) which is followed by 4 weeks off. If you dont take it daily you lose its effects. And im talking about monohydrate, if your taking ethyl ester ( CEE ) you dont need to load and you dont need to take it daily. Gav

Guitar, started on acoustic and moved to electric. What are the guitar players favourite songs to play ? ( need to learn some new stuff ) I love to play Metallica - Fade to black, Coheed & Cambria - Welcome Home, Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Zephyr Song, Green Day - Time of your life, Van Halen - Ain't Talking 'Bout Love and a few other. Need to learn some new songs... anybody else care to share ? Thanks Gav

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey is what you need. Has 4g of glutamine and BCAA's and is by far the best selling whey out there. Buy off ebay ( Elite Supplements ). I'd also recommend creatine because it will make a difference in the long run... Mix whey and creatine ( 2 scoops of whey + 10g creatine monohydrate ) STRAIGHT AFTER your workout. Possibly the best thing you could put in your body after a hard workout. Gav

I'd say stick to a stock, you will benefit in the long run...

Mainly ride street, with the odd occasional exception. At the moment Czar is top of the list and probably the frame I will end up buying, but to be honest it's a tough choice between the GU and the Czar..... Actually looking at both frames the GU seems alot stronger and far better looking in my oppinion, and the weight for both '08 GU and Czar is pretty much the same with the GU being a tiny bit heavier. I'm like back to square one Might go for the GU just because I like the look of it a bit more, and seems far better looking that the Czar ! Gav -

Alex, I noticed your signature... Did you go from a Woodstock to a Pitbull ? Are you happy with the change ? What stem and what bars are you running on your Pitbull if you don't mind me asking ? Gav -

I love the Zoo bars, lovely rise and such a comfortable ride for me. Just feel really natural, but as said, I would say its the frame change that would make a big difference and probably sort me out. No doubt altering and playing around with the stem and bars would perhaps change the way the bike feels a little, but to be honest I'd love a new frame and it's about time I treat myself to one. About the Czar long, it definitely looks the part and the spec sounds good, I've also had a look at GU frames... Alot of mates say the T-Rex has a lovely feel but never ridden one and wouldn't buy unless I tested it first to be honest. I'm a bit skeptical about the T-Rex but at the end of the day it's a cheap frame, does anyone know about the strength ? I'll have a look at both Deng and Onza frames. Has anybody ridden a Woodstock? I'm currently running a TryAll stem and Zoo Riser bars. I think it's not a bad combination considering, but everyone that has ridden my bike said it feels weird -
Right, basically I'm riding a Zoo Pitbull at the moment, and to be honest im finding it rather restricting and weird... I was thinking about buying another 26", but recently alot of people have advised me to go 20". I know 20" bikes are alot easier to manoeuvre and all that, and even though I learned on a mod, I've always prefered 26" bikes. The Pitbull feels rather akward on the back wheel aswell, don't know if that's just me... What would you guys suggest ? I could possibly begin to consider a 20" bike but if possible I'd prefer to ride stock for the time being. I know there are loads and loads of possibilities frame wise, but I would like to hear some general frame reviews from a handful of riders please...... Thanks and hope to have quite a few good replies to this Gav

how long have you been riding for? and also can i ask did you start on a 20" or did you start on stock straight away?
-
top video! some amazing riding locations in there and a very well put together video. great stuff keep it up

What Do You Prefer 20" Or 26"?

its all down to whatever you learn on at the end of the day, if you learn on a mod you'll find it quite hard to addapt to a stock where as if you learn on a stock you'll find it much easier to addapt to a mod in my oppinion. as said id say go for a 26", it will be harder to learn on but you will benefit in the long run. my 2 cents... -
picture isnt coming up bud (well it doesnt work for me anyway)

what does it ride like mate ? whats it like on the back wheel ? looks a little like the pitbull
-
right ive rang nick from hastingscycles i think it is ?! spoke to him very helpful guy, ill definetly consider the mad he has for sale but at the same time ill keep an eye out for bargains on ebay. i was also think about an cheapish onza maybe a t-raptor or a t-rex. does anyone have any feedback on t-raptors as the frame doesnt look to comfortable and easy to chuck around. ive heard alot of good things about the t-rex, the geometry of the frame is meant to be very good and comfortable to ride. decisions decisions...
-
Thanks alot mate, ill give him a buzz a little bit later on to see whats going on thanks again for the heads up mate gav by the way where abouts is the shop so i can google it and see roughly how far i am from it cheers
