  1. Serious stuff Mr John, but glad to hear all is going well so far! Fingers crossed once the physio work starts you'll be on a quick road to full recovery!

    Operations are scary, but in the long-run quite often the best option.

    Looking forward to seeing you back on your bike, I'll pop down for some local rocks and street when you're all mended ;).

  2. Strength to weight wise there won't be much in them at all. The only area the Team will be stiffer in will be the brake feel. You could argue that the extra 100 or so grams extra weight on the team is pretty much just booster plate. This could make a little difference to the stiffness of the frame when pedaling, but whether it'd be a noticeable difference when compared to the Lite, that's definitely debatable.

    When you talk actual strength to weight, the light might just shade it, as it's lighter but not discernibly 'weaker', just not as stiff in certain characteristics.

    Personally I'd go for a Lite and then get a booster if the brake wasn't as stiff as I'd hoped. Lighter way and about the same price.

    Geometry though....

    Personally I love sort 20" bikes, though with just 10mm between the short of each frame, the extra 10mm cockpit room would be welcomed by most people. But 10mm shouldn't have too much of a detremental effect on bunnyhops etc. A 1025 Lite would be a lot of people's choice just because the short is too short.

    Argh, decisions. All that said, for ME, if the short lite was a little too short, I'd accept the extra weight and get a 1015 Team, as the extra 100g ish over a long Lite would be glossed over by the extra flicky handling of the 10mm shorter Team.

    How to confuse someone buying a frame in a few easy steps! haha

  3. Good little ride, weather was a bit cacky though.

    I did so much cross-town riding today! lol, more time searching for people than actually riding trials! Bloody mobile phones! hehe

    Good seeing some old faces and meeting some new ones :)

    When the weather's better let me know if anyone fancies an hour or two riding again (Y)

  5. I think, i might just go 24 inch lol always wanted a bike that looks like a 'normal' nike yet still do the trials tricksss

    I can basically use everything on my stock apart from the rims?

    Yep, might benefit from a slightly more streety handlebar and stem set-up, but other than that and rims, it's all 'normal' trials stuff.

    Oh, and a seat and post of course! :)

  6. Normally Onza cranks are 158mm standard I believe.

    Personally I've got 170mm cranks on my 20" bike. I find the little extra leverage helps me accelerate batter, which makes a great difference for the better when using short run-ups.

    For me I'd say that 160 are only really a major advantage when riding super super techy stuff, maybe a uci competition where you need all the clearance you can get.

    If I did run 160mm cranks I'd probably use an 18:13 gear ratio (a little easier than my current 18:12) to get back the quick acceleration. But that's probably because I have weedy-girly-legs!
