May I ask why you want to take the paint off, and I assume not use a grinder? Going for a smooth but not painted rim?
I'm wanting to remover the paint from the whole of the rim not just the sidewalls and sanding takes too long.

I'm after a set off zoo python stickers similar to those that are on the 07 pythons with the large Zoo sticker on the downtube. Just to clarify not the sticker set that is being sold on selectbikes. So does anyone know where I could get a set?

WTF i don't see why it would even leave a mark on the rim.
It's the only thing that came up on the search and I can't think of anywhere else that might sell caustic soda where I live. Plus a lot of drain cleaning products are usually caustic soda solutions.

What will I need to use to remove the paint from my try-all rim? nitromors/caustic soda?

Looks like you've done a good job and looks quite nice , but it appears that you've sprayed your bb or is it cover in a similar coloured wrapping to protect it?

Pretty much what the title says. I can't watch any of the newer vids that are uploaded onto Trialstube (anything uploaded after about 2-3 weeks ago). Is anyone else having this problem and is there anything I can do about it?

hi
first of all i am very pleased that this website is still going, i feel very old at now 21, last time i posted on one of these i was 15 no doubt wearing a blink 182 t shirt or sumthing along those lines hahah
just been out on my trials bike after building it back up and dialling it back in, which i was shocked i could still remember to do
i am hooked again, rode around all the old spots i used to ride every day when i was younger, and did a few things which i knew i would always be able to do, and looked at stuff which i thought i had no chance years ago and now think..... hmmmmm i think i could probably do that now
thank you trials i have missed you
cant wait to ride again tomorrow and also to get back into the discussions, the top tips and also need to seek out a pashley 26ghz (if they still make them) because now i work i have to the money to get myself one.
so whats changed guys?
chris king still make hubs? or are there better options now, looking on ebay at the moment at them, seriously considering buying one but want to know wether there are other companies, no doubt that i have never heard of which do what they do better
look forward to your replies
tom
It's good to hear that people like yourself are getting back into trials . As for Chris King they're still probably the best brand out when it comes to hubs and you might aswell invest in one. I've been on couple of bikes with CK hubs and they're brilliant.

A cobbled road is good place to get tar from. You can usually find loose bits that you can pull up with your fingers. Make sure you dont apply to much to your rim though
-
So how did the bolt removal go? Any news yet?
-
The moral of the story is you need to learn how to use an allen key
-
try using a rubber mallet first but if you havn't got one/can't get hold of one a block of wood and a normal hammer should do the trick. If that fales a crank extractor will deffinatly get them off, just make sure you get the right type for your cranks (taper/ISIS) because I snapped one when I tried using a taper extractor on ISIS cranks.

Very nice bike there . I think silver and black looks really nice. Ride it well

Ok i'll try what tris and tappets have said tomorrow. I think the threads will still be alrite.
-
start with a tiny drill bit just to give you a pilot hole, it will have to be dead centre though then once you have the pilot hole just go up on drill sizes until its out, id imagine itl be 4 mm or 5mm
cheers for that

The other day I was tightening up a maggy bolt and it snapped, and part of it has been left inside the hole (I wasn't over tightening it). The problem I have is that the top of the bolt is below the top of the threads. I know it will have to be drilled out but I'm unsure of which size drill bit to use? I'm planning on helicoiling the hole afterwards.
-
all you need to do is
1 drill the hole out with the drill bit supplied in the kit.
2 tap the hole ot with the tap provided
3 insert the helicoiled thread
4 snap off the top of the thread once the thread's completely in
5 smile because you've save lots of money and have fixed you're bike
Thanks for your input.
-
Now that i know which size helicoils i'll need, what is actually involved in helicoiling? Is it just tap a new thread and insert helicoils or is there more to it than that?
-
I'm going to buy a helicoil kit for the magura mounts on the frame but I'm unsure of which size I'll need?

Quite a lot full members (obviousley not all) think that nmc is full of illiterate people who know nothing about about trial biking, but infact there are people in nmc that can spell and can use grammer without needing a spell checker to do it for them. To be honest it pisses me off when full members say things like "oh nmc is full of noobs". Every current full member has been a non-member at some point, were you "noobs" before you were validated? I guessing the majority wern't and it's probably still the same, most non-members abide by the rules and can spell and can use punctuation correctly.
That's my rant over.

So full members and pre members can post,
Now does anyone know how to measure the rim size?
Joe
Tape measure? I'm not being sarcastic by the way.

I've just applied some caustic soda but I'm unsure on how long to leave it before wiping the rim down. Over night?
