they're mint on a smooth rim with a nice sound, andd on a grind they have a lot more lock with little sound. But altogether there a good alround pad which gave me aload of confidence to go bigger...
what is hold and bite like, do they slip often?
-
I know rock blues are brilliant pads but I was wondering what the greens are like if anyone has tried them out? I have used the search but nothing much has turned up. Please give me your review if you have used them.

my 05 python again - new stem and tyres
-
avid bb7 deffinatly - good quality
-
i go for either rock pads - http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=2077
or if your willing to spend a bit more, heatsink reds which are well worth their money - http://www.heatsinkbikes.com/?p=brakepads#hmag
-
personally i prefere street but also like the odd bit of natural now and again, it's mainly personal preferences. I agree with you that natural is harder and needs more stamina, balance and overall skill. Basically it's down to what your prefere.

creepy crawlers are brilliant

id suggest:
blue rock pads - brilliant alround pads http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=2077
or if you want real top quality performance some heatsink reds - brilliant bite in all conditions http://www.heatsinkbikes.com/?p=brakepads#hmag

Why?! Several people have told you, you can just hold the star still by going up the steerer tube with a long screwdriver or such... you could really just undo the bolt...
And besides, a drill will probably just spin the star and do little else.
the whole problem is i cant get to the star nut but what im going to do is drill onto the bolt head until it's all removed and can get the top cap off
-
ive found a sollution. I'm gunna drill the head of the bolt until i can get the top cap off leaving the shaft of the bolt still in the star nut, then im just gunna hammer it out
-
i cant thats the point the bolt with the top cap wont come out so i cant hammer it out.
-
I was putting my new stem on my bike and I was screwing the top-cap bolt on and found it stopped screwing any further in. What has happened is the center of the star nut has loosened and is now spinning as I try and screw the bolt in and is therefore not allowing the bolt to tighten. Has anyone had this happen to them, if so what did you do? Open to any suggestions.

my echo team stem is coming tomorrow so a black frame would complete it
-
if i was you i would just got it polished then its bright and reflective not dull (or that might be your camera)
or try get it photoshoped ?
Its my bike thats dull, as you say just polishing it would look good
-
I was out riding and one of my mates suggested I shud spray my frame a shiny black, what do you think cos I can't make my mind up. Also how much would it cost to get it done if I did?
-
avid's main plus point is they're mechanical so no bleeding and very easy to maintain, also they're really cheap. One down side is they feel slightly spongy when you pull the lever but it's not too bad. Hopes on the other hand feel brilliant but do decide when they want to work or not as the case may be.

cheers

this may seam a pointless and unhelpful answer but it's just down to practice. It will become second nature after a while, you wont have to think about it.
