Hey guys, I got the 2007 Czar 26 Dx32 rear rim laced to an eno eccentric hub (bad call) alex antisnakebite front wheel with shimano xt front hub. evolve forks mono mini front brake Avid SD7 rear vees with blue rock pads zoo cranks with eno freewheel and a rennin tensioner I know it looks really hidious, im planning on getting a hope mono trial out front and some white echo rims with green hubs. Hope your guys like it lol

Frankly speaking, my trials bike is far easier to build then my dj/dh bikes. There is much less on them if youn dont run cassetts and forks and stuff. But even so if you have never done it before and dont have anyone around who knows what they are doing i would buy a complete bike. Or you could buy the parts you want and take them to your lbs and have them teach to to build it. Just make sure you get what you want and take your time building the bike. It usually takes me about 3 hours to build my bike because i like to have a few beers and have a good slow time so i dont f**k anything up. Cheers, Ian

yeah but I want to get some new stuff, i doubt ill be able to find white echo rims laced to green echo hubs (135mm) with the built in tennsioner. And for the brake, I can get 80% off retail price on any avid brake so im thinking either the code or the juicy. Im not that stoked on the bb7 but ill borrow my bro and give it a try. So the BB7 is better than the juicy 7. I've had BB7s on my street bikes but never on my trials bike, do they feel as good as hydraulic brakes and do they have good power without being squishy. But thats a good call Mod-Mike i over look the BB7

yeah with a ffw you can run tighter ratios and smaller chainrings. It makes you have more bb clearance for rideups and stuff. Though it does put more pressure on the chain your should be replacing your chain atleast, ATLEAST!! once a year. I think that front freewheels are better for dedicated trials frames, but i find that with more streety bikes the chain line gets really freaky.

so what im hearing is that i should get the front brake bar/ stem and rear wheel then when the front gets worn or damaged replace it. And what about the front brake, is the mono trials really worth the extra 150 or so over the juicy 7??

Sorry I know this post is pretty stupid but i am at a real emotional/finacial dilemma. So, this year I want to get: a new stem and bar combo (135$), a new wheelset (400$) and a new front brake. As i am a student I dont have big money. So i want to decide, should i get just a new rear wheel and not a front one to be able to afford a mono trials front brake. Or should i get a whole wheelset and get a less expensive front brake. (I have connections to get avid codes or juicy 7 for under 100$). Or should i just splurge for everything and not have any money left. I cant decide. Are avid juicy 7s ok or is the hope a better choice, or should i get a code or something. Thanks for your help and sorry for the crappy post I am from Canada by the way, eg everything is CAD not euros or pounds or quid or pittence or however the hell the money works over there

Thanks bro, i realized that right after i hit reply. ( duh??) But i think youll be happy either way. In my opinion the Czar has a perfect geo, i like the long wheelbase and the bb isnt so high you feel unstable on 2 wheels which is how it felt on my friends typhoon. That said the typhoon loves everything to do with the rear wheel, and it hooks like a machine. If you ride only urban (like dropgaps and stuff) then the typhoon is probably a better choice if you like the look better. Vanity be thy name mr trials rider, Ian

Yeah, like mrkoxx said the czar is a really really nice frame. I ride it and it feels super comfy on the rear tire and seems to sidehop like a dream. My friend has the 2008 gu typhoon (i think its called the tp now) and it feels really nice and looks good too. I have found that the quality control is a little sub par, there have been a few with bad welds. Whichever one you choose you have made a good choice. What kind of riding do you do, i think that the +35 of the czars bb is a little more multi purpose than the +60 of the gu. Thats my two cents cheers

Ok so me and the guys I ride with like to shoot video and stuff but i find that whenever i go to shot like a dropgap or a tap i always end up cutting off someones head or the landing or have to stand like a million feet back. My camera is not really great and it comes with the standard zoom lense. I was wondering if there was a way i could make it so i dont have to stand back so far, its really inconvenient especially when shooting downtown. Cheers Ian

Ok so, i started riding trials on a dedicated bike about october of last year. I can pedal kick, do some go gaps pedal ups, tap (sorta) i can hook almost 4.5 feet and i am starting to get good at the gaps to front wheel. But now that i can go to front wheel i need to start wheelswaping to the rear. I mean i can do the wheel swap but not on something narrower than like 3 feet. So it means that when i land a gap or and up to the front wheel with the front wheel close to the edge i then can't land it because i cant get my back wheel onto the obstacle. I was wondering if anybody had any tips on how to tighten up my wheelswaps so i can start doing fronts to hand rails and such. Cheers Ian

yeah dude you are way better than i was at only 2 months. Man that was so long ago hahah, w/e got some sweet moves there, the break dancin in the middle was dope and i liked that up to bash near the start. Got some quality moves man just keep at it
